Thank you very much for the video, it was very informative. By the way your soil looks absolutely wonderful. Best wishes and kind regards from the U K.
@@_RocketRooster thank you. I was making a joke as she mentioned the name of the company many many times throughout the video. It wasn’t a very funny joke, however.
Sounds like u are working for them and doing a sells pitch 🤔..... What soil mixture do u use? Or best for them? I mostly have lily's and hattacts (sp)... and tulips an a.
I cannot just dig about 4/5 inches down in my Bonny Scottish garden before encountering a ton of rocks and stones which take forever to dislodge. Your soil looks as if you have just emptied a couple of sacks of commercial compost on it. So how long did it take you to clear all weeds etc out first I do wonder? I could not always catch what you were saying either as a bit of a fast mumble. Sorry to be negative. The bulbs did look great tho and sure beautiful once in bloom. My beautiful deer friends do enjoy a lovely dinner from mine it has to be said as well, so who am I to deprive them.
I just planted about 50 tulips and covered with wood. Are you sure to only leave it covered for a day or two? I don't want to have squirrels digging it up. I live in Ohio so it's starting to get cold.
Hi! The ground doesn't need to be that close to freezing, but it can. Here in New England, we say you can plant when it's been sweater weather for two weeks! Sometime in October is usually perfect.
You are just as beautiful as your 🌷 tulips. And I love a kind of woman who doesn't mind having dirty hands in the garden and maybe vegetables garden too. Awesome 👍👍👍
Bulbs require a cold treatment to grown and flower. Check with your bulb supplier to see when pre-chilled bulbs are available. In the Northeast bulbs are planted in the fall.
Been growing tulips all my life my only criticism is the bulbs are way way to not deep enough plant maybe a foot down they will love that better make sure you place bulbs on a few inches of sharp sand if you have clay soil apart from that oh yes place bulbs the correct way up don’t just throw them in any way to all your subscribers have fun loving tulips 🌷
I covered my tamped soil with chicken wire stapled to the ground with landscaping staples. Left it there through winter. Had a rodent-free garden and when I pulled it up in the spring, the tulip display was gorgeous.
@@TheIdeabaker I ended up taking the same route, but left the chicken wire in place. I hesitated at first worrying whether or not the tulips will grow/fit through the chicken wire holes, but they surely found a way and displayed beautifully, and evenly.
Planting tulips is easy unless you have problems with rodents like me. Then the planting requires that all the bulbs be protected by a thick wire fence on all sides.
Great advice! I have a few flower beds but have never planted tulips. Going to mix about a hundred in this year. By the way, do they multiply? And will you marry me? Just checking 😏
You are a bit slow, I could have done it in half the time, even sooner and be enjoying an ice old beer while watching you complete your task. OK, my bulbs would not have come up, but nevertheless I am saying.

Should I add plant food in with the bulbs ?? Thank you for the video..
Yes, I put Bulb Tone or Bone Meal in the trench before positioning the bulbs.
Is tulips the only bulb that has to be planted in the fall?
Too much advertisingy for whoever colourblends is. Basically you dig a hole and put the bulb in.
Thank you!
can i plant in the winter
How close can you plant them water...like on my lake front?
Planting any bulb is easy if you are digging in soil of the type you show here. Most of us are not so lucky.
Do you mulch around the tulips, and if you do, when do you put the mulch down?
anyone know answer for this ? should we clear out all mulch on top & around the bulbs?
After planting your bulbs how often do you water?
I thought the ground was supposed to be close to frozen before planting them in case they start to sprout?

Hi I live in Michigan what's the link for ordering your tulips
Is there a link you can share so we can purchase these bulbs?

I want to buy tulip bulbs, how can I buy them?
I have 5 or 6 bulbs left from my trip (I gave most of them away)... what kind of soil is the best for them?
Sandy soil with good drainage is best!
Thanks! (last step is to tamper lol).
Turbo planting for maximum color!
What is the ideal month in the southeast? ...U.S.

Yes. It how long did it take to prep your soil? Lol
How much is tulips Bulb?
With that kind of compost soil. I can plant 200 bulbs in 10 minutes 😁
I didn’t think of using anything to cover them, my dog and my neighbors dogs dug them up.

How do you keep the squirrels away ?
Hardware cloth? Tip: from what I have learned, deer like to browse tulips too just before the buds open.
Rodents will get to them. I did this with 100+ bulbs and not a single one survived. Need to spread some repellent over them.
Get a cat
Hot pepper flakes, Cats don't go underground! In mid spring, right before my vary eyes some of our catmint was being pulled underground!

You might try buying some rodent repellent dust.
