Here after Paris 2024. As beautiful as Paris was, having the athletes singing and dancing all together in Barcelona was priceless. This was so emotional. Still my favourite. Childhood memories❤❤❤❤

@@saxual227 Best lighting was Atlanta when THE GREATEST battled through Parkinson's disease to light it. Barcelona didn't even tell people what was happening in other languages like EVERY other Olympic Ceremony did.
Io c'ero. Ero seduto in alto, nei posti in curva (i più economici!): avevo comperato i biglietti un anno prima per poterci essere! Ci venni appositamente da Roma. E posso testimoniare che è stata una cerimonia veramente indimenticabile. Coinvolgente, emozionante, commovente. Una vera festa della gioventù del mondo! E poi, ci ho vissuto un momento assolutamente irripetibile: con mio fratello e mia cognata, durante le danze finali degli atleti, scendemmo di corsa a livello della pista e (di nascosto della sicurezza) riuscimmo attraverso un varco... ad infilarci nel mezzo della festa! Non credo che nessun' altro spettatore prima, nè tantomeno dopo, abbia mai avuto questa possibilità assolutamente unica: vivere la chiusura delle olimpiadi IN MEZZO ALLA FESTA DEGLI ATLETI. Qualcosa di assolutamente irripetibile!
Barcelona is probably my favorite as far as opening/closing ceremonies, it was all just so magical & stunning
Han pasado 31 años. Las ceremonias de Barcelona siguen siendo las más revolucionarias, innovadoras, frescas y sorprendentes de toda la historia. En los JJOO se dieron grandes pasos adelante con la llegada de la "comercialzación" de los Juegos (mastermind: Samaranch). Las ceremonias pasaron de ser ceremonias a un espectáculo televisivo también de primer nivel. Los Angeles 84 marcó el tono.... para Barcelona, se supo calibrar entretenimiento, con segmentos tipo historia - cultura, de una forma absolutamente innovadora. No voy a hablar de la inauguración en este vídeo. Centrándome en la clausura... hay que poner el contexto la clausura: la traca final a los que (a falta de que Samaranch lo confirmase en directo) ya eran los juegos mejores de la historia. Y una orgía deportiva, organizativa, y el mayor espaldarazo posible para BCN, Cataluña y España, tras 2 semanas de ensueño. El estadio estaba en ebullución tras esos 15 días inolvidables. Por lo tanto es normal que todo siguiese estando en estado de gracia. Los números musicales, el desfile de atletas desenfadado (estaban de fiesta), el apagado de la llama al son del Cant dels Ocells (no ha habido creo un apagado más emotivo jamás, sencillo, y de una belleza e intensidad que sigue emocionando), el increíble número de fuegos de Els Comediants, el Cobi que se fue por el cielo (me preguntaba de pequeño "y dónde acabaría?", y el epílogo, el nirvana: las rumbas, con esos all stars al escenario, y.... y todos los atletas al escenario también, con el inolvidable Constantino Romero teniendo que echarles para evitar que la cosa se viniese abajo. En definitiva... fue la mejor ceremonia de clausura, por todo... por la ejecución, por la espontaneidad (siendo el acontecimiento deportivo más importante del mundo), y porque la organización, y en definitiva, todos y todas... estábamos on fire, en estado de gracias... disfrutando por última vez de posiblemente lo mejor que le ha pasado al país desde (no puedo situar la referencia anterior).
The rumba catalanà performance at the end was astonishing. Barcelona had the best ceremonies for sure. I watched this as a kid and loved and rewatched now as an adult and am even more impressed

I still recall an Australian commentator stating that "this is the most breath-taking finale to ANY event, Olympic or otherwise, in the history of this planet!!" I totally agree. I dont think a closing ceremony has been bettered. Barcelona gave the world a true spectacular.
Por mi edad, no me tocó ver estos juegos pero sus ceremonias me dan mucha nostalgia. Por la unión y felicidad que dan a los países que participan, es el evento por excelencia. No importa que nos falten los mundiales de fútbol, las eurocopas y las copas América pero NUNCA, JAMÁS LAS OLÍMPIADAS. QUE VIVA 1000 VECES EL OLIMPISMO.
La mejor olimpiada moderna de nuestro siglo , es la ceremonia mas inmensa que se haya hecho jamas , en todo , em imaginación, en baile regional, en presentación , hasta entonces no se habia hecho nada igual como fue en Barcelona 92 y no creo que en el futuro se haga algo mejor , es INSUPERALBLE , la gente de Catalunya fue estupenda, y los organizadores y los artistas que intervinieron fueron fantásticos , vaya no he visto nada como las OLIMPIADAS de Barcelona .

Yo era muy niña, como 6 años, pero estas olimpiadas me marcaron mucho, para mí el encendido del pebetero (haya sido fake o no) es el más original que he visto a partir de ahí, la clausura viendo a Cobi irse en el barco hasta la fecha lo vuelvo a ver y vuelvo a llorar, las caricaturas de Cobi fueron lo máximo, la canción de "amigos para siempre" mostrando el verdadero olimpismo que es la union de todos los países es también de lo más bonito y nostálgico. Las mejores olimpiadas sin duda ✅

We are used to switch between catalan and spanish even in the same conversation. If I need to talk about numbers, I usually speak in catalan (mentally I do maths in catalan too) and if I'm angry or stressed, or looking for a solution to a problem, I usually think and speak in spanish. So it's only natural than switching even to other languages is easier if you already think in two different languages

One of the top best perfect Summer Olympics along with Seoul 1988, I’ve only seen four perfect Olympics (Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, Lillehammer 1994 and PyeongChang 2018), I attended the Closing Ceremony of PyeongChang 2018. Every Olympic fan should attempt to attend a ceremony in person.

The 1992 Atlanta skyline looked different in that presentation. The Bank of America Plaza and the SunTrust Plaza weren't built. And the Georgia Dome was just getting started. One thing that I also noticed was the WTBS transmitter tower in the middle of Midtown Atlanta.

Tengo 60 años he visto desde los juegos olímpicos de Montreal 74 a la fecha. Y para mí gusto Barcelona 92 son los juegos más hermosos desde aquella canción de Freddie Mercury y Monserrat Caballé, hasta amigos para siempre, con la gran cantidad de récords que cayeron, y con el inolvidable e irrepetible Dream Team. Watching this in Atlanta at the close of Paris (Maynard Jackson 😢). Now i wasnt fully engaged in the Olympics UNTIL it came here in 1996. Watching this presentation by Atl and then comparing it to recent Olympics..I call DO OVER!! Our presentation quality is a billion times better(we are now the Hollywood of the South).
I know we had a bit of trouble but hope theres been enough time and lessons learned that we can do it again.
