I have fished Juipter for Mahi a few times. Can wait to come down for some Snook action. I'm in Savannah, I'm primarily a fly fisherman for Reds. Great video.

Good luck. Please try not to broadcast where we are. I kept the video as generic as possible. Being a local im sure you understand. See you out there

My thought is locals will know but other may not. I have way more viewers than I ever imagined so gotta be smart about it

I learn something, even if it's a smidgen's worth, every Vid ! Found Ya a few months ago just in time for My Move to Florida in September. You seem to have "owned?" a few Maverick Group Boats in a short time span ! I've been honed in on 2 boats - this very Redfisher 16 (but perhaps with the 70hp? Your thoughts? I intend to use much in the same way, but perhaps more on the Gulf side !?. The Other boat, a Pioneer Sportfish-180 w/90hp. Two "different" Boats, the Pioneer with some restrictions vs. the Redfisher 16 ! Inshore AND Nearshore, perhaps even offshore on GOOD Weather Days !?. Are you familiar with the Pioneer? Does that 90 on your 16 balance well with just you onboard ? thanks . . . if I could make a wish, it would be too see Longer Videos and your findings (good or not so) about the 16 ! Thanks for sharing very much appreciated .

Thanks for the comment. I think the redfisher 16 would be underpowered with a 70 hp. I'm about 165 lbs. The boat does well with the 90. Cruises around 30. Top speed mid forties. Enough for me. Stable solid boat. Great inshore and offshore on calm seas. Pioneer makes a great boat. I just don't have enough experience with them to comment. I'll take your advice and do a review on the RF 16 next time I get offshore. Welcome to Florida.

@@straightouttajupiter - thank you . . . I'm about 10 weeks away but have started building my SALTY Gear ! Being a lifelong Fly Angler (now 71, ugh) I'm gonna buy one, maybe two Spinning Rods (Gary Loomis's EDGE Brand / no longer associated with the current G. Loomis stuff). I'm thinking IRT Spinning Reels, though expensive, they are after all made in USA (guess that comes with a premium, ha). Already sold most of my Freshwater and have a couple Salty Fly Rods/Reels.
***Thanks to Your short (but sweet) Red-16 Vids. I'm actually leaning in THAT direction - more safe options as to where I can fish; though offshore will need to be carefully monitored . I absolutely am looking forward to More Red-16 footage (drone?) in action AND maybe more of YOU with FLY ROD - oh say Mahi Mahi ? I hear down off Key West they are not TOO Far off ?? Is that true ?

love the content! and i dont even fish. looking to get a rf 16 but like the look of mav. could you do a comparison vid. looking to set up like yours with 115 and jackplate for speed, what speed are you seeing on the 90?? thanks much great vids especially when u go out in the rough

Thx for the comment. I can't do a comparison video cuz I no longer have a maverick. Just the RF 16. RF is much more stable than the Mav. I used the Mav often with the pole which I no longer do - back issues. Both great boats just depends what you want to use them for. I get just over 40 mph w the 90.

Nice Boat. I expect to take delivery of a 2022 Hewes RF16 next week. How do you like yours?

    What rig are you using

The weight system is a sliding sinker between two swivels known as the 'Jupiter' rig. The soft plastic is a FRED paddletail from salt strong. I sometimes add a spinner blade - not sure if I did so on that day
