For the love of Christ send this guy back to school. You've got plenty of talented presenters who are capable of giving these cars and drivers the respect they deserve while also being entertaining, put this guy where he belongs back to reviewing modern crossovers until he can learn to be better.
Also the main circuits back then were based on speed - bar a few like Nordschleife and iirc Bremgarten. Monza, Spa, Pescara, Avus and Montlery were all pedal to metal race tracks with a few corners to brake for.

Well, the original Auto Union Type C racecars hit close to 300km/h on the long straights in the 30s and the streamliner driven by Bernd Rosemeyer did reach 429km/h on a section of the newly opened Autobahn in January 1938. on the way back when he was going even faster a sidewind caught the car and he swerved of the road and was killed. Skinny tyres is correct and in the popular hillclimb events they had back then Auto Union actually fitted a double stack of wheels/tyres on the rear axel. These cars slided around like crazy in the corners so its amazing to see the ace drivers manhandle them.

skinny rounded tires have a smaller contact patch therefore less static/rolling resistance, but also, less grip
