I love the restrained luxury of this house. Nothing is loud or screams for attention but every window, every choice of material, every architectural element offers something for the eye to love.
What else can I say that hasn't been said? This house is one of the best I've seen. The careful attention to detail, the minimalist but certainly not bland design, the beautiful location and the calmness it brings. Simply stunning!
Took me a minute to figure out what he was saying about “literal rainforest” is “littoral” rainforest, or rainforest growing along a coastline. I also LOVE that the architect was considerate of the roots of the trees, and has a building that is going to weather gracefully.
The life of the rich IS a different world. They have access to the things that make life more comfortable and beautiful. Getting a taste of it is like living in a different dimension.
Completely on point. There is something about the cinematography and narration as well , it all comes together as an intricate beautiful package and story.
Absolutely in love with the airy lackadaisical feel that floats through this house! Superb taste and choices from the architectural/design teams!one of my faves on this channel. thank you always
This home holds many minimalistic features which creates a very comforting environment. The ecosystem surrounding this home has a mix of the beachside and the jungle atmosphere which is truly rare at least from what I've seen. I love all of the materials used in this project and how the facade masks what awaits behind the entrance. The wood slats create a blank slate for anyone to image what may be sitting behind them. Well done to Workroom and all the collaborators on this project. Thank you local project!
That would have been a demanding, exacting brief with enormous constraints. The results show none of the limitations that must have been imposed. Really well done.
I love everything about this house. Especially how it complements the landscape around it & the fact that they were completely mindful of respecting the natural environment💯
I love everything about this house, especially that there's a glimpse of the outside from almost any point in the house. I love nature and sunlight so this would be a must for me ❤️ manifesting a house like this in the future
An amazing project. Despite being a movable building the living room is really large. The only thing I don't like about this project are the wall lamps that look like balloons. Everything else is beautiful. GJ.
Es mi casa ideal, sin duda. Esla combinación perfecta de adentro y afuera, de materiales, de sencillez y lujo, mobiliario exquisito, confort y energía. Predilecta del canal. Enhorabuena ¡¡¡. Hermosa y equilibrada
Most expensive home but using timber screening all over instead of firm aluminium wood like battens from Deco or Knotwood which will protect home better from salt water and no maintenance
As beautiful as it is, its still cold & stark it lacks homely comforts like art, sculptures, rugs, personable items like photos or travel momentous....as for transportable that I'd like to see and find our more, because if you have to relocate there's always time constraints sometimes hours not days or weeks therefore you would need all the trades on hand undo every fixture and fitting and render safe for transport, trucks, police, electricity company so many people - moving a dwelling takes weeks often moths to plan...yep that house ain't going anywhere except into the sea
"Byron Bay’s Most Expensive Home" is so not a flex (also definitely not true). It's actually such a gross and embarrassing claim? Also, am I the only person who is confused about having a boring pool eating up the footprint of the outdoor space when the house is literally positioned next to one of the world's most coveted beaches?
True, but conditions are not always favourable for swimming in the ocean. Blue bottles, seaweed and rips. It's not unusual to have a pool at a beach house.
Beautiful. But I wonder how much of that coastal rainforest was destroyed to build that huge structure.... It shouldn't have been allowed, even with all the regulations imposed. The architects are obviously very talented, though.
This house is clearly too big and decadent and therefore not very sustainable. This house clearly doesn’t fit in with the natural coastal landscape at all. I’m surprised the Byron Council approved of this house being built on dunes that are very susceptible to coastal erosion. Why didn’t they build a more modest coastal dwelling that reflects the laidback down to earth Byron lifestyle. Byron Bay could definitely do without these type of ostentatious developments.
Exactly. It’s a suburban McMansion with a wooden screen at the front to hide the beige boxy architecture. I wonder how much of the rainforest they excavated.
An item is only worth the value a buyer is willing to spend, an I can't see anyone wasting money on a sad design like this. It's characterless, Was it designed by chatGPT an that's why it looks so generic?

We're glad to hear it!
I love these kind of vids where I can hear the architect's idea of the design, I love the thought and every detail of that house
I am really impressed...so beautiful....I am keeping on waching again and again

Wow! I,m blown away by the beautiful open space! The nature & the view adds the beauty to this home. Thanks Local Project

Well considered, beautiful home. Kudos!
We agree!
Absolutely stunning and beautiful, decor is so elegant. Thanks for sharing.
I think this is my favorite Local Project Home
The perfect classy beach house!
It really is!
the calmness of australian contemporary style
' ...a kind of unfolding of a three-dimensional language...' Of all creatives, architects are among the most verbal about their works.
The best ones are poets with materials
Beautifully designed
Glad you like it!
Stunning, would love to live in that environment ❤
It really is!
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you. Longing for the day that I'm not living in a small overpriced apt surrounded by concrete and crime
So, meticulously designed as if the architect has put his soul in it .
Love that main entrance to bits
Fab design!!❤
I really like the dining chairs.
The Local Project, This is amazing! I can't stop smiling!
I love everything about this house, especially that there's a glimpse of the outside from almost any point in the house. I love nature and sunlight so this would be a must for me ❤️ manifesting a house like this in the future

Great work !!
Прекрасно!❤

Thanks for the story of this superb project, John. The blackbutt timber is really fortunate to be a part of this material palette.
What is the name of the song / piece of music that starts at 00:31?
The entrance is a 100000/10 I like it so much.......
Such a beautiful home , very peaceful and welcoming home. Probably the best I seen
Another brilliant LP tour. Lovely stuff.
Thank you kindly!
What are the pendant light fixtures?
Wonderful work!
Im inspired from this kind of house's.
Can't believe what this home have. ❤✨
Absolutely breathtaking. Stefan Denser
Bryon Bay bubble has well and truly burst
Amazing design. Beautiful fusion of architectural design and unbelievable natural landscape. How unique to have the beach & rainforest.
Really a timeless beauty. Very liveable
It's a really cool home. In a beautiful place.
Wow, such a beautiful project ❤
Absolutely beautiful and serene! 😍
It’s inspiring to see what’s possible!
This home should be used as a location for a peace summit between all the warring countries
Calling it a rainforest is such a stretch. Other than that what a beautiful home.
If I could choose a home of my own, it would be one similar to this. The location, the style...its magnificent.
exciting to see the most expensive is a great architect designed one!!
Stunning ❤
I'm a beach and, moreover, a rural person. This is a go for me. Great work done.
I wanna live in a house like this ❤
This is one of my favorites. Beautiful

Beautiful house, thank you for sharing! ❤
Make a house tour near waterfall please🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Will do!
What a dream.
Most expensive home but using timber screening all over instead of firm aluminium wood like battens from Deco or Knotwood which will protect home better from salt water and no maintenance
Nobody is doing it like The Local Project 😮
🙏
how can I get this book/
Holy s… Just WOW!
I have found my house!!
ive found my dream home ✨

Великолепно воссоздали замысел
I'm wondering how will they address mosquitos in these designs. Or maybe they simply don't have any
amazing house until you see a giant huntsman spider in your bedroom
The spa I get, but with the beach on your doorstep I don’t get the pool, but that’s just me
A stunning house however, if I'm going to be honest, I'm totally distracted by the scale and repetition of the globe wall lights! 🙃
I wonder how you would ‘move’ the house though.
What if some unknown people comes in from the beach side?
Beautiful home but I wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about the erosion issue
Yowzah !! Nuff said..
It built on the old abattoir
wish airbnb to experience…
❤❤❤

Gorgeous home but Jesus tax the rich
Hahaha exactly
Can we not bring policy into a video that, for most of us, is about dreaming about possibility?
Beautiful project. I wonder what was the climate change risk factor in its concept and building process.
Uhhmmm… Bedroooom????😌
This house has a very Japanese inspired vibe.
where's the garage for my 2 Lambos??
🥰
Очкарик больше себя снимает чем дом, влюбленный в себя
Why does every architect have those glasses and a plain black tee? Is it a requirement of this channel?
Lovely. Pool is waaaaaaaay too small. And has a cheap interior of the pool too.
Unfortunately this house is going to be in the ocean within 10 years, that dune is eroding very rapidly.
I remember, when I was 16yo on my first surf trip there when it was a beautiful country town with non of these wankers living there.
It’s official - I’m poor.
its ok , yes beautiful materia;ls etc ,but seems to lack some thing, no X factor
I would have thought the Hemsworth residence is Byron Bay's most expensive home...
let me guess: the house is deeply rooted in the landscape and there's a random shot of a whale?
You bet 😉
Owner is chasing $45m, been on the market since Oct 23. There are far more expensive homes in the area.
I would rather be a poor man living somewhere in the middle of the Mediterranean.
Lovely house. Byron is super pretentious thesedays … unfortunately it has lost its charm 😢
