Wonderful video and your so informative about your process, I simply believe this is the best way to create videos! I am a newer sub so this is the first time I have seen this book! I will have to go look up some previous videos! I wonder if you have ever considered transferring the image to better paper? Did you scan the book into your computer before coloring? Just curious, remember to take care of yourself and your family first during the moving process. Have a lovely day.
Lots of people scan images then use a paper of preference. I have a lot of loose artwork, and have no desire to add to that, especially when I paid good money for the book. I am a very 'book-y' person anyway, and I like that my colourings are all in one place and tidy. I think it's important to challenge oneself (but you know that by now, I'm sure) and dealing with less-than-ideal paper is just another way of learning and developing. Thanks for your comment!
Good morning from Ellsworth Maine USA! Whether you are working a sketch, doing a scrwler box challenge, painting with watercolors, or coloring with pencils; I really enjoy watching your process! I learn so much from you and am able to apply techniques and color to my own pages, thank you. Thank you for taking time from your packing to share your talents and thoughts with us. Thank you for sharing puppy pictures. I also thank you for talking yourself through the process, now I know that I am not the only one! I think that my cat believes that I'm always talking to her, as she will jump up and try to help me color...don't tell her any different as she will get a bit ticked & lay down on my pages! Have a beautiful day!
I absolutely love Thomas Kincaid but would never dream of trying to color one of his art pieces. But I have only been coloring for 5 or so months. Brilliant Gem!!!! 💖💎💘
Hi Gem. Take your time we enjoy watching all you do. I agree with Patricia your talking through your process is helpful for us too. And much like Patricia I talk to my cat constantly too. She also loves to help while chewing on a paintbrush or two. Or doing her best to get her paws into my wet paint. You’ve helped me in many facets of my art process. I am truly grateful for that and the time you take to explain everything really. Thank you Gem. 🦋🌈
Wow Gem, I am so impressed with your work on this page! As you said, I would be so overwhelmed with the magnitude of this particular picture, but you are making it see doable! Can't wait to see it completed in April :-)!
I'm okay with the packing, it's just the physical moving process that stresses me to the hilt - I hate not having full control over everything. I'm hoping we will have everything in the new house in less than 48 hours - we are very lucky to have young fit members of staff that have offered to help. Looks like I'll be buying a lot of beer tokens as rewards! Not long now....
Love it! Looking awesome! I don't know what's worse, packing or unpacking! Lol. I was so worn out from staying up so late trying to unpack and put stuff away. I couldn't even go to my side job today, I'm just beat! Lol. 😄 😄. Good luck with the move. Thanks for sharing! 😉 ❤.
Challenge accepted!! This book is terrifying but so fun to look at. I’m hoping I make it out of the ugly phase of colouring. You’ve smashed it!! Well done Gem.
I think I have some unfinished colouring pages somewhere, too. Well, one or two, I think. But I only colour when I feel like it, so... it takes a while to finish bigger images, which is why I rarely choose them, sometimes they just overwhelm me. This image is very pretty, though!
Hello! Sorry I’m late, but I’ve just found your videos , and totally obsessed with how amazingly you have colored the book. I’ve always wanted to color my Thomas Kinkade book as well. However, I’m a beginner with no experience and have no idea what colored pencils to buy for the coloring book. Any suggestions?
Hi! Welcome! I wouldn't recommend this book as a starting point if you are a newer colourist. (Just my opinion) - The paper isn't the most cooperative and imitating the reference picture was challenging. I'd build up a little bit of practice first and get comfortable with a set of coloured pencils, and really get to know them before tackling a project like this if you want to 'copy' the reference painting. In terms of a brand, that is purely down to personal choice, but softer pencils like Prismacolor don't do well on this paper. If you don't mind my asking, what pencils do you have just now?
I’m always bemoaning the lack of a slate gray in the Polychromos set. I’m considering moving my Crayola Slate pencil into my Polychromos case or - ugh - I may have to buy the Prismacolor one in open stock. No matter how long this page takes it is looking really great. I can’t believe you’re not working on Enchanted Forest during the packing process 😜
They could have easily switched out one of their useless ‘metallic’ pencils and given us a slate grey... what’s wrong with buying Prismas open stock? Funny you should mention Enchanted Forest.... stay tuned 😉
The Colour Cave I have no objection to ordering open stock, I’m just not a prismacolor fan. I have a small set and I never use them, except for a couple unique ones I got open stock like ginger root and putty beige. I may need to get the slate gray and maybe grayed lavender and pale sage.

I didn’t try his stuff until I’d been colouring about two years, and even now I find it challenging!
@@TheColourCave phew!!! Now I don't feel so inept. LOL

Amazing work on this - by far the best version of a Thomas Kincaid Disney page I have seen!
OMG the doggies are TOO adorable!!!!!! Thanks for sharing the picture!
This looks amazing but it is sooo much work! You are braver than I!
It's a bit of a slog, but I pride myself in being brave with things like this. I know I'll be really happy with it when I'm finished 😁

Let's hope I get it done by then!!!!
It's coming along quite well, I think. Good luck with the boxes and packing. It's never fun.

Aw, thank you!
Awesome job so far Gem! Happy packing! 🤗♥️

Could you post the link about whiteing out the black lines, I have been trying to find it. Thanks for your lovely tutorial, Ann

Did you ever finish this? It’s stunning
I did, I posted the finished result over on Instagram I think? Needless to say I haven’t touched another one since! 😂

The Colour Cave I just bought a prism a color pack a couple days ago.
The thumbnail isn’t showing for me. Anyone else have this issue?
It’s a TH-cam problem, but it seems to be intermittent.
