There's just this special thing when, after the entire game has had you going back and forth between area music and battle music, the final dungeon's music persists through the battles. It really makes you feel like there's no stopping now, and between that and the chest messages you get something really special.
3rd's final dungeon may not have been as long as the final dungeons of the first two games, but it was definitely the most exciting one for me. The music, the fact that every party member is used, and even the chest quotes all being words of encouragement. It all comes together as one big last hurrah before finally finishing the masterpiece that is the Liberl trilogy.
It's easier than you think. Agate and Joshua are godly in their own right too. Schera is a great backup to any of those(her ability to accelerate turn order is busted), and Tita/Kloe make any team unkillable gods. Richard's fine, but he's a tad overrated, especially on higher difficulties.

For God's sake, even on Nightmare, Richard have more hits than most bosses (I don't say "For god's sake" agressively agaisnt you, I prefer to be clear, I mean't "That's just ridiculous that he can be that fast....") Of course, Like you said, Joshua and Agate have really good arguments too, but not on Richard's Level (For me at least) Joshua with Phantom Raid and a transfer from SC can Spam S Craft with a group of large enough, without the need to wait, which is Busted but in 3rd, Most of the hardest fights are with too few ennemies to try this strategy. Agate is practically assured to use a S-craft every of his turns and he have great life bar and Strengh. But when you're as fast as Richard (and strong too since he's really strong statistically speaking), It's supreme both offensively and defensively, because every richard's Turn, Kevin can regain CP with the Belts (Richard can have a Headband and a belt), making really spammable. The only other JRPG series that can compete with Trails in the dungeon music department is Phantasy Star. Fantastic track that, combined those chest messages, made me feel nostalgic and "uncharacteristically emotional" ( like Olivier said in the ending ) about the Trails trilogy even before actually clearing the game. Here's hoping that Zero & Ao no Kiseki, as well as the Cold Steel series, will be just as good.
This place was a bit of a *nightmare* for me. I didn't bother training all the characters up. I only made quartz and equipment for 5-6 characters at max. And then I find out I need to use them all in the final dungeon. It was funny bringing all my level 105 characters when Kevin, Renne, Alan, and Olivier were my only characters at level 135 at that point. And with no good quartz or equipment either xD
That sucks, I also had a bunch of underleveled characters, but I solved it by going into the abyss over and over again with different party members until everyone was at least level 130 or higher. Kevin and Ries were level 137 and everyone else was between 130 and 136 before I finally went into the Phantasmagoria. I also farmed mira by finishing the all the doors and repeating the quiz door and a bunch of sepith from grinding so I could upgrade weapons, armor and orbment. I'm on the second path now, can't wait to finish this game and see the ending~
Since I had most of the characters leveled up to at the very least level 22 during chapter 6... It took me 3 separate trips to the abyss to level up them rightly.
poro poro The 9999 exp helped. But the exp wasn't the problem. It was the sepith I had to grind for good quartz!! I had to settle for lower quality quartz in the end, because I was hated grinding, especially so close to the ned.
This final dungeons theme reminds me so much of the Origami Castle theme from Paper Mario Origami King. With the game's main theme in it, the theme being used for battles, and the intense feeling it gives. So much of Trails' soundtrack reminds me of other game soundtracks in their style. And I love it.
Same, man, same. He's one of the strongest character imo, and I adore his personality dearly. It's also interesting to see all the chaos from church folks' perspective. I also miss Ries.
you have 16 characters, you thought you're gonna be separated for a while, so you organize them in random way. TURNS OUT THAT WAS YOUR FINAL PARTY ORGANIZE. with each 4 of them facing their final battle. guess what my 'main gate' party is beside kevin & ries ? :(
Dion Chesar I personally had Mueller and Anelace with Kevin.... Was supposed to have Kloe instead of Mueller, but just like you. didn't realize that was the last time you organize the party, lol.
I went and prepped up Tita and Schera for my Kevin & Ries team, I always like to give some relevence to each final boss fight I have, like how I made sure I had specific characters facing off against the Enforcers in SC were those who had personal stories tied to them and whatnot. Not being able to do that due to me not having too good of an idea on what each final boss was (except Kevin's, which had no obvious tie in to anyone) I simply chose the party members you played with first in both FC and Third respectively, thank fuck I did too, Orbal Gear Tita saved my arse in that final fight.
