@@d1ode well, i brought a friend who never played a souls game straight to elding ring like 2 months ago, and even he pointed out how the map was cleverly made and he eventually reached where he should be, bro was flabbergasted
I think you’d seriously need a notebook or a spreadsheet for Soulsborne games to track the quest/lore. Like a legit out-of-game, honest-to-god notebook. No in game system will be good enough without being a spoiler (at least without a keyboard and mouse to actually write down stuff. They did a pretty good job with the map markers. The key is to develop your own system, again, just like the combat, you have to put in your own work). I might do that for the DLC and when I finally get around to play the DS trilogy.
There is no way in hell I could ever call Ghost of Tsushima's quest tracker the best ever, considering it straight up spoils how many parts some side quests have in advance....making it feel like a checklist until you get to the last part.
Not possible, strictly due to the requirement of acquiring the 3 main endings. Not to mention all the obscure items you have to hunt down. Even with a guide, not possible for a first time player to do it all in 70 hours. He just edited a photo or used a screen shot from someone else who did 100% it. He's likely insecure about having skipped a ton of content in his 70 hr run, so he was compensating by using a misleading image that makes it seem like he "did it all".
It always warms my heart to see a new person recognise the magnificence of Fromsoft games. What did you think of the DLC trailer? You got into this game at a great time.
God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring are my top 4 favorite video games of all time. Im very hyped both games have great dlc. Elden Ring and it's dlc probably game of the decade 😮
I personally love both endings being lord of frenzied flame and age of stars but i prefer the lore behind lord of frenzied flame because the age of stars is just saying to the world: "fuck off" and go live on the moon But for the lord of ff you burn the erdtree and everything that "divides and distinguishes" which means that everyone is the same, the cursed is normal and the normal is cursed so it’s just "oh you love that erdtree so much huh?, you feel it makes you special? Fuck you" and everyone becomes the same You may see it as the "evil ending" but I see it as the harsh good ending
Dope review m8, i'm glad to see people understand what these games really are, it's about challenging one's self and understanding you need to do better next time. Malenia's water flow move is annoying but so satisfying once you learn to dodge her (light weight highly recommended due to jump distance and recovery speed) , now i'm way more comfortable with being close when she uses it ... vs on my first run using semi range triggers like tossing a Kukri at certain health marks to trigger her dodge usually followed by her starting up the move.... Good on ya for going for her without using a summon and experiencing the true fight.
Glad you had such a great time with the game. If you want even more depth, there's always the mods. Reforged and Convergence are must-plays for this game. Reforged goes deep into the main game mechanics with subtle changes to the world itself, while Convergence is a full on Overhaul for the game.
I love how it that if you just rush towards the end you just end up confused. This is because you where supposed to be a pawn in Marika's plan and you became exactly that. Go off the beaten path and explore and learn and you can get a much better and more comprehensive ending with some input of your own.
Played the game when it came out out 100 more hours in . Thought I did everything in the game . Now I’m doing a nee play through and finding so many new things I never found before it’s like a nee game
Great video! ER was my first souls game and I went in blind(mostly) for my first playthrough and had a blast! Fromsoft is now my favorite game studio. You're gonna love DS3 😊
Don't worry, with the expansion coming in June, we'll get to experience that feeling all over again. I cannot wait to go in blind once more and lose myself in the world 🔥
Elden ring blind play through when it first came out was such an amazing experience. I took my time and finished my first play through at 150 hours, and I didn’t even do a single hero’s grave. There is so much packed into this insanely huge and beautiful world.
This is a very well put together script. Which isn’t all that common for channels in their infancy. Congrats and keep up the good work. Thoroughly enjoyed. (Also Elden Ring is one of the greatest games of all time and I would marry it if I could)
@@mrsgamer9218 bro, Im very interested, try to finish Irina/Hyetta questline. This mostly enquires you to find Hyetta in different locations (Hint:4 times across Liurnia, first time (I bet you already found her) is right next to grace after Stormveil castle)
the good thing is that if you got platinum in 69 hours ( finished the game at least 3 times), it means that you still have a lot of content to discover
Yes! Finally someone who doesn’t say “69 hours? Did you even play the game?” I wanted to get all of the achievements to say that I’ve “played the game enough” for the sake of the video. As a matter of fact, I’m STILL playing Elden Ring alongside Dark Souls 1 and I’m discovering so many new things I missed in my initial playthrough.
Do Sekiro next. Sword Saint Isshin IMO is one of the greatest boss fight ever created. And requires you to learn and adapt to his moveset. Even better than Malenia (yes I said it) cuz she has 2 gimmics, water fow and crimson rot, whereas Isshin is pure skill and no gimmicks.
2:32 I struggled with this too when I first started playing. But literally all you have to do is follow the yellow arrows at each site of grace. Idk why it took me so long to figure that out
Nice vid, and nice perspective. I'm glad you had a good time with Ragnarok. I didn't hate it, but felt it was pretty lacking overall. Quick nitpick. The game definitely does tell you where to go, kinda. Vague grace directions are more than not telling you at all, though.
Honestly I think that the worst part about this game is that every other game that comes out will be trash compared to it. It’s safe to say that this game revolutionized gaming forever. It will always hold a special place in my heart and being my first experience with the souls like genre, will always be my favorite. But the other games are all absolute masterpieces in their own right and I highly recommend you get into these. Amazing video. It’s always fun to relive a great memory through someone else’s first experience. Liked and subscribed

I cant tell you enough how boring, unoriginal mapmarkers are like in ghost of tushima, Hogwards legacy and the other games i told you before. Also compared to the other games ER feels much more alife, even tho there are much less npcs then for example rdr2 or botw. Still remember my first playthru I explored every corner of everything and even found a way to complete most of the quests so i had several ending choices. Took 230hrs of pure enjoyment and wonder idk how anyone could rush thru this masterpiece when u only get a first playthru once.
The game DEFINITELY tells you where to go. There are sites of grace everywhere pointing you in the direction you should be going. NPCs basically tell you what to do at every turn even spoiling major plot points and reveals and there’s a big ol’ glowing tree alway in view. Honestly I was kind of annoyed when I got to Volcano manor and that ghost in the hallway told me Rykard was a snake and exactly how to defeat him before I even really knew who Rykard was, completely spoiled the reveal of him being a giant snake god
I don't know how anyone in their right mind can pick GOW Ragnarok as a GOTY, i don't remember ever playing a more boring and meandering game in my life but you being a self proclaimed playstation fanboy i guess it makes sense. That game actually opened my eyes and changed me forever, it broke any last remaining remenants of Playstation fanboyism in me since the good ol days (when the PS games were better and exclusives actually meant something) so i'll never ever buy a 70$ bloated Sony tripple A cinematic snooze fest ever again. P.S Elden Ring is a masterpiece.
I’ve beaten the game so many times with lots of builds and honestly watching this has rekindled the urge to play through it again. 10/10 would recommend. Consider me a new sub
You have a quest tracker! Just need to whip out a pen & paper and there you go. A more practical solution would be to take an image of the map and put numbered points on it yourself in an image editing program. Either way, it's definitely not common for a game to expect you to keep track of such things and I find it refreshing :)
Also how do you not have more subs for a video or this quality?! Bruh. Keep up the hard work man, this was a really good watch and I look forward to seeing more from you.
Honestly as nice as it is to see all the views, likes, and subs I just make these videos for fun because editing allows me to explore the creative side of my mind.
@@d1ode I respect that for sure and have a similar mentality. Most of the time, anyway. I do want people to watch my videos as I’d like for people to find some value in them, even if just for entertainment. But by and large it’s a creative endeavor for its own sake for me.
If you're on PC and going to play Sekiro, I would strongly recommend the FPS Unlock and More mod. Playing that game at 180 fps vs 60 fps made the fights so much more fluid, and almost easier. EDIT: also being able to increase the FOV makes the world combat a lot better for me.
I started playing Elden Ring soon after it released, and it single handedly turned me into a souls gamer. The worst part about playing Elden Ring for this long is that i’ve been waiting 2 whole years for the DLC lol.
Definitely changed my perspective on games....when game difficulty is largely reliant on restarting massive amounts of progress and elongated periods of stress it becomes less likely that the "high points" I am looking for out of it are going to be worth it compared to other games doing the same thing without those.
So the game does kind of tell you where to go, follow the guidance of grace means look at a grace spot and see where its pointing (or look at the map and see that giant grace arrow), that is the way to progress in the story.
I also loved the frenzied flame ending. The visuals are so striking, and i think the lore behind frenzy is very interesting. It was probably my favorite ending as well even though I think Ranni’s ending is the best for the game world.
This, red dead 2, and baldurs gate 3 are titans in my eyes absolute masterpieces of modern gaming. Will always be played no matter how much time passes. I also feel like the frenzied flame ending is one of the best. You put all the suffering in the lands between to a final definitive end. And plant the seed for something new
As a FS fan who fell in love with their games due to lore and world building first and only gameplay second, I'd like to defend their way of writing stories, with the focus placed on the theme. The "mere" plot device that are the Elden Ring and the Erdtree embody themes which are, for me and so many others, just so damned compelling and fascinating.
its honestly fascinating hearing about it from a perspective of someone like you and the extra tidbits of the way your mind works in your replies to comments. been an interesting half an hour lol
for Malenia, if you used Moghwyn's Sacred Spear and just spammed "Bloodboon Ritual" at her stacking with your Mimic Tear doing the same thing, she's basically an easy fight.
Same after learning how to play Elden Ring. I was finally able to figure out how to actually play dark souls. Since they're basically the same exact game. With the only difference being that Dark Soul is linier instead of it being an open world.
only 69 (nice) hours for first playthrough? Dang did you explore anything XD, my first one took more then twice, it took me 160 (and appart on spending some hours (IDK 5-8 maybe) on Malenia I can't say I ever got stuck anywhere, it was all just exploration) EDIT: Appologies if that came out like very negative or cocky, I'd still be interested in checking the vids if you playing it. Any chance you throw them in a playlist though?
Which bosses are hard is a matter of your built. As a mage, I was shocked how easily Malenia went down. My biggest surprise was that if you shoot the night comet and immediately start running backwards, than she gets the hit, makes the sidestep move, but always decide not to start waterfawl dance. So with that "running in circles" movement you can trivialize phase 1. If you have another weapon with bloodhound step, there will be no more questions. And as a mage (and really a glass cannon), a had terrible time with bosses with insane AOE attacks, high magic resistance, unfair duo bosses or extreme speed in small fighting grounds. (evergaols..). My hardest experiences, most deaths were these: 1, Elden Beast 2, Placidusax 3, Maliketh 4, Adula dragon (the real fight after finishing Ranni questline) 5, Alecto 6, Death Rite bird (snowfield) 7, Duo Night Cavalries (snowfield) 8, tied between Blood Mohg and Malenia. To be fair, I can agree, Malenia should top the difficulty ladders if you have a melee character.
69 hours is definitely not enough time to experience everything this masterpiece has to offer but it was obviously enough for you enjoy the majestic beauty of that world
I wanted to play this game without looking up what to do and I completely missed ranni questline 💀 so yea I got the elden lord ending but I'm doing rannis questline rn
70 hours for a playthrough basically lets me know you just did the main bosses and dungeons. Didn't even explore or do side quests. My first playthrough was 160 hours. I went to and did everything.
Every Fromsoft game since Demon's Souls has been unbelievable. They all have such unique atmospheres, and despite thinking Elden Ring is the better game overall, Bloodborne has yet to be dethroned as my favourite game ever. You'll see as you go through their games, they're all equally as fascinating as Elden Ring for their own reasons, just not quite as big
This was also my first souls game and I tried it after it came out, sucked at it and couldn't understand souls combat. Then picked it back up a few months later and now I'm on NG+7 and almost 500hrs in. I'm still gonna play even more, especially to get ready for Shadow of the Erdtree. It truly is one of the greatest video games of all time.
I felt the same way about the combat when I first started, but then when I got the hang of it I too was addicted. Hopefully Michael Zaki drops that DLC soon!

That first playthrough. Man… it’s such a glorious fucking experience. Especially if you don’t look anything up or crutch meta. Just you, and the game. It genuinely is hard to enjoy other games.
I think my favourite thing about this game is build variety. There's so many unique weapons, ashes of war, sorceries and incantations, that i just can't decide how i want to play. You can practically make everything as strong as you'd like, no matter if you go for str, dex, int, faith, or arcane build. Though with that many options my favourite build is probably still plain knight with sword and shield, for parrying and square off aow, with various sidearms. Also, Malenia is my favourite boss, i love humiliating her with parrying after all the suffering she made me go through lol.
looking at your recap of the story, its pretty clear that you had no idea what was happening because half of the stuff you said was wrong while the other half was the exact opposite of what you said. Biggest being Tarnished means you lost grace at one point. You get it back and so do other characters. Other characters lose the light of grace while you dont. You are one of a select number of individuals capable of becoming The Elden Lord. Not only that, you were once part of Godfreys army and when he was banished, you were banished with him, along with everyone else.

The game doesn't straight up tell u where to go, but they drop hints, like FOLLOW the grace, and also the map is sooo good and thought out, that u always eventually end up where you're supposed to go for the main story from the starting area, i've put in over a 1000 hours in this game with 0 experience with a souls like game and i don't think i love any other game more than this game now
I followed the grace and ran into a wall.
Yes, but some of the hints are straight up *moon logic* 💀
@@d1ode well, i brought a friend who never played a souls game straight to elding ring like 2 months ago, and even he pointed out how the map was cleverly made and he eventually reached where he should be, bro was flabbergasted
@@xXLunatikxXlul indeed they are, I don't think any of em are straight XXD
The map is a modern gaming gem. It will subconsciously lead you to places you wouldn't normally have an interest in
I think you’d seriously need a notebook or a spreadsheet for Soulsborne games to track the quest/lore.
It’s not a perfect tracker for sure, but it’s the best one I’ve seen so far in games.
All achievement run in 69 hours is really fast.
I thought the same thing! Dude surely was playing with a guide
DLC trailer makes me realize that I indeed got into this game at the right time!
I didn’t have to suffer waiting 2 years for DLC.
My genre of gaming changed with this game... im not the same person as I was before experiencing this masterpiece...
God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring are my top 4 favorite video games of all time.
Im very hyped both games have great dlc. Elden Ring and it's dlc probably game of the decade 😮
As someone who got into the FS games from ER, I’m so happy to see it’s doing the same with others
I just finished getting all of the achievements for DS1 and had a blast playing the game
I personally love both endings being lord of frenzied flame and age of stars but i prefer the lore behind lord of frenzied flame because the age of stars is just saying to the world: "fuck off" and go live on the moon
But for the lord of ff you burn the erdtree and everything that "divides and distinguishes" which means that everyone is the same, the cursed is normal and the normal is cursed so it’s just "oh you love that erdtree so much huh?, you feel it makes you special? Fuck you" and everyone becomes the same
You may see it as the "evil ending" but I see it as the harsh good ending
Fire Burn Tree
Explaining everything even the lore! Ser u got my sub !
You have finally convinced me to play Elden Ring... for the nth time.
9:50 On release the game didnt even track where npcs were either lmao, sidequests were an absolute nightmare
Took 15 hrs just to complete Limgrave, very worth the price.

"the game doesnt tell you anything on where to go or what to do" except, you know, the big ass golden arrows pointing your way.
the good thing is that if you got platinum in 69 hours ( finished the game at least 3 times), it means that you still have a lot of content to discover
Yes! Finally someone who doesn’t say “69 hours? Did you even play the game?”
I wanted to get all of the achievements to say that I’ve “played the game enough” for the sake of the video.
Didn’t realize you only had 600 subs, great video keep it up
Ragnarok is an incredible story and Elden Ring is an incredible video game. Both can be great. I will always prefer Elden Ring, personally.
2:32 I struggled with this too when I first started playing. But literally all you have to do is follow the yellow arrows at each site of grace. Idk why it took me so long to figure that out
My mom loved it. And she barely plays games at all, her last open world adventure was Skyrim.
13:34 wow

Thanks for the like and sub!
I agree this game is just too damn good! It makes other good games look mediocre in comparison.
"Revolutionized gaming forever"? Wtf are you talking about. Absolutely nothing in Elden Ring is revolutionary, the game has Ubisoft written all over it. It's the same open world as any open world. Get a grip😂
@@Enux485 I’m talking about revolutionizing gaming forever. I cant tell you enough how boring, unoriginal mapmarkers are like in ghost of tushima, Hogwards legacy and the other games i told you before. Also compared to the other games ER feels much more alife, even tho there are much less npcs then for example rdr2 or botw. such a great video
I haven't played any souls game before elden ring
but I got sick on release date and had to stay home for a week
so I gave it a shot and I got addicted
I got platinum in under 6d and 70h IGT
I had the time of my life using the sword of night and flame and mimic
(patch 1.02) I loved the choice that there was an easy mode but not by any settings but if u go trough the whole game and get the best gear
after my 1st run I tried a lv 1 run and finished the run after 23h IGT I did't managed it by just getting good but also using a unique method for any boss to make the fight as easy as possible
after that I started NG+ and tried to let my mimic solo every Boss for me and yes it worked mimic can solo any boss in the game
even malenia (in just under 3min) and micic can also one shot some bosses
My final challenge was a not hit solo fight vs malenia which I did without any problem because I used a build that only works for this bossfight and I invented that build on my own
I even created this YT channel to upload every solo mimic or lv1 boss fight for myself so that i can look back at these memories
the moment he suggested a quest tracker i knew how innocent he was in regard to fromsoft souls like game
Bro beat the game and got full achievements in 70 hours? My first playthrough took well over 200 : ( and that save file after a couple NG+ now has over 300 hours
To be fair, I barely did any exploration in that time.
I’m still playing through the game on NG+ and my goodness there’s many things to discover.
And now the fun begins. Ill see u in a year after u beat every fromsoft game
I talked my wife into playing she is not a gamer she's infact an attorney and o ly has played gta 5 and red dead 2 but I started a character for her did the whole caelid dragon start so she would be a little OP at first and she likes it alot goes to show anyone can play this game and love it some just need a little headstart but once there hooked you'll never be the same
even the worst fromsoft game (dark souls 2) is better than most games it’s just in a group of genuine masterpieces
awesome first impression. Great content. I will be back.
0:31 “you’re maidenless”
The game tells you where to go from the start. Through Varré, Melina and the golden rays at the grace. They really couldnt do more
I fuckin love the Elden Beast fight
Definitely changed my perspective on games....when game difficulty is largely reliant on restarting massive amounts of progress and elongated periods of stress it becomes less likely that the "high points" I am looking for out of it are going to be worth it compared to other games doing the same thing without those.
Yes. I did refill all my drinks and snacks in less than one second. Please continue.
Faster than F1 pit stops

Here, have this sub.
Arigato kyodai!
So the game does kind of tell you where to go, follow the guidance of grace means look at a grace spot and see where its pointing (or look at the map and see that giant grace arrow), that is the way to progress in the story.
I followed the grace arrows and it led me into a wall. Scam honestly.
I also loved the frenzied flame ending. The visuals are so striking, and i think the lore behind frenzy is very interesting. It was probably my favorite ending as well even though I think Ranni’s ending is the best for the game world.
Big Fire Burn Tree
This, red dead 2, and baldurs gate 3 are titans in my eyes absolute masterpieces of modern gaming. Will always be played no matter how much time passes. I also feel like the frenzied flame ending is one of the best. You put all the suffering in the lands between to a final definitive end. And plant the seed for something new
I GOTTA play RDR2
I'm glad you have enjoyed this game I love seeing people get introduced to souls games through this game and have fun with it and it's world
Elden Ring showed me what I was missing for so long.
This game is so good i often think man i wish i could have my memory wiped to experience it for the first time again
its honestly fascinating hearing about it from a perspective of someone like you and the extra tidbits of the way your mind works in your replies to comments.

for Malenia, if you used Moghwyn's Sacred Spear and just spammed "Bloodboon Ritual" at her stacking with your Mimic Tear doing the same thing, she's basically an easy fight.

Same after learning how to play Elden Ring. I was finally able to figure out how to actually play dark souls. Since they're basically the same exact game. With the only difference being that Dark Soul is linier instead of it being an open world.
only 69 (nice) hours for first playthrough? Dang did you explore anything XD, my first one took more then twice, it took me 160 (and appart on spending some hours (IDK 5-8 maybe) on Malenia I can't say I ever got stuck anywhere, it was all just exploration)
EDIT: Appologies if that came out like very negative or cocky, I'd still be interested in checking the vids if you playing it. Any chance you throw them in a playlist though?
Hey cool, its my artwork on your thumbnail haha. Thanks for using :D
My hardest experiences, most deaths were these:
1, Elden Beast 2, Placidusax 3, Maliketh 4, Adula dragon (the real fight after finishing Ranni questline) 5, Alecto 6, Death Rite bird (snowfield) 7, Duo Night Cavalries (snowfield) 8, tied between Blood Mohg and Malenia.
To be fair, I can agree, Malenia should top the difficulty ladders if you have a melee character.
The first ending means youve established whatever order youve chosen to side with and go from there.

Yeah, I’m at level 150 so I gotta be creeping around that but it’s more than worth it.
I got the frenzied ending on my first playthrough by accident didn't know wtf was happening but it is by far my favorite ending.

This game is proof, that there are still creaters that can make a game with a soul.
Thank goodness I’m not a lore channel
