Oh gosh this brings back so much memories. I graduated from Sydney Uni at 2011 from the Faculty of Arts.. I went through the same passage as you've shown in the video almost everyday. I wish you the best of luck with your medical degree journey. You will make a fine doctor, undoubtedly. A subber, from Malaysia. Keep the great vids coming!
Wowww so happy more and more aussie med student channels showing up! Subscribed! First year in Syd Uni then you probably know Tess? You two should be classmates. She is an amazing TH-camr as well
OMG, this video has bring back some memories when I was studying in UNSW. Graduating my master degree on 2015, and currently reading my PhD back in my country, Malaysia. I have visited USyd several times, the architectural style building and ambience are so cool! I wish you all the best for your Med School!
I can only wish that my med school here in the Philippines is like that of yours lol. We are not really allowed to skip classes as our school is quite strict about attendance. Also, we cannot wear civilian clothes. But I love the fact that we have white uniforms and red and gray colored scrubs with our name on it ☺️

I am a physician in the US. Entire education here. I am surprised at the loose structure of your day. I started class at either 7:30 or 8:00 am. We spent the entire day on campus, usually within a single building. Day’s end depended on the class load. Some classes ran 20 weeks (anatomy, physio, biochem) to as short as 7 weeks (neuroanatomy). Usually done by 4:00 pm at the latest. Medical school in Kansas City, Missouri. Monday through Friday only.
Really loved this video! Do you have any tips on what I should look out for (libraries/affordable places to shop for groceries/events etc) during my first few weeks of uni? Will be starting my course there next month!
Glad you liked it! That’s exciting :) For studying, Fisher library is the most well known and it has 9 levels of study spaces. The law library next to it is really nice if you can find a seat. There’s also plenty of learning hubs around campus - I spent a lot of time in Brennan MacCallum during undergrad. For food, there’s a broadway shopping centre next to Victoria park, and Newtown is always a good spot for cheap eats :) Have fun with your course!
I've always wanted and dream of studying in sydney. Well, maybe soon when I get to finish my school. I'm going to take bs nursing... Good luck on your studies kuya❤ I know med school is hard but nothing is impossible when it comes to your dreams:)
I'm Sajid Nawaz from Pakistan I have enrolled in Master Program in Business School of UOS, but due to covid my intake deffered from March to September. Best wishes and such a nice and informative video. 💚👍
We went to Sydney last year and I miss using the Opal card. Cuz when we were there I was allowed to go out on my own from McQuarie to the Circular Quay. I miss Sydney btw love ur content.
hey loved the video ! I have to questions: 1) does the uni of Sydney do UNDERGRADUATE medicine and 2) could you make a video on living expenses as a university of Sydney student ? Thanks 😄
I can answer the first one (even though I'm a HS student) Yes, USYD offers undergrad medicine although you need a 99.95 ATAR and a few other prerequisites (as far as I'm aware) www.sydney.edu.au/medicine-health/study-medicine-and-health/undergraduate-courses.html Here's a link to their undergrad med courses if you're interested. The much easier option is to do a bachelor's first (3 yr) then do your doctor of medicine (4 yr). It's a longer time but easier program (Bachelor of Science is only 80 ATAR and Band 4/E3 in maths then medicine with the only requirement being that you must have graduated with a bachelor's in whatever)
Cool vid man! Do you go to a 4 year graduate MD school or do you go to a 6 year MBBS undergrad? I know Australia has both. I’m a 1st year Med student in the US and I like reading about other countries’ systems
Hi! I’m planning to venture out to the country from the States towards the end of the year. I’ve been in TX most of my life so I’m used to the heat (although it might be a different type of heat). Being able to work for anywhere I’m flexible as far as dates & cities go. Do y’all have any recommendations? Genuinely asking. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated. I’ve between Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. Also, if y’all know the current state of the country I’d love to hear about it. I’m doing so much research before I relocate.
@@SebastianPirie I agree, I know it's probably the last thing you could be interested in talking about, but us poor pre-med students would appreciate it. Thanks
Hey mate, if you don't mind me asking, what did you major in? ( I know USyd has a 4 year graduate MD, so i'm assuming you're doing or did a B.Science Undergrad?? ) P.S. Hope you're staying safe and great video

Campus life is very social - there are plenty of different medical societies which are all very active. Every year, they seek new members to help organise seminars, workshops and mentoring events.
Hi I am also going to do early entry for University of Sydney for medical I just did my HSC and I have waiting for my ATAR hopefully I am able to get in 🙏🙏
I have class on campus 3 days a week, and 1 hospital day. As for work, It’s definitely possible - I worked most weekends this year (although I wouldn’t recommend it during exam periods ☺️)
It depends, some lectures I'll just sit and listen because the lecturer is really engaging. Others I'll annotate the lecture notes on my iPad, or create questions for myself to review later :)
waking up at 700 am , dude I m not a doctor and I wake up at 4:30 am better change your routine if you want to pass those exams!!! you should be getting more homework, its a 14 to 16 hour day in med school at least that what it use to be
