I like your comment but it kinda sounded like Denis was outshined by Levan and I want to make it clear that that never happened. Denis had to take a hiatus to recover from his health problems but he was unbeaten for years at that time. He's still the Hulk of armwrestling and Levan can be the Silverback Gorilla or something Lol
"before Levan, he was the hulk" sounded like a wrong sentence. To me Denis is still the man and the hulk we all know until Levan beats him (which i think wouldn't happen). I think Denis has a pretty good chance of beating Levan too, he's back on the track now and to me he's ready to armwrestle and his latest training shows that.

I agree. Him saying his hand and wrist are not on the same level as his bicep/forearm, is what I've been surmising as what must be happening for Larry to be losing. And I could see his hand being taken in many of the practice polls with guests. So bravo Denis for being honest and being able to evaluate Larry so quickly. Truly a Professor. Larry should take his advice to headt and over practice that one move. Larry saying "when my hand gets stronge,r should I maybe try to take my opponent in another way if I feel I can ?". And i was just thinking when he said that, "no cuz dont you think how much faster you'd beat your opponent with your good move...especially if he has a weak hand ?".

Denis is the first guy to actually realise and try to get Larry to pull an arm using the same muscles he would to move a really heavy weight from an armwrestling position. Great coaching, if Larry can incorporate this into practice he'll figure it out sooner.
@MdoubleHB it is healthier to not take drugs, obviously, and i value natties higher than "enhanced" athletes, but you have to understand that literally every sport in the world, everything you enjoy watching, nfl, nba, martial arts of all sorts, even arm wrestling, all have pretty much 100% roided up athletes. it isn't "cheating" as in you're getting a leg up on everyone else... on the contrary, if you AREN'T cheating, you're just gimping yourself, because every single person around you IS cheating. blame awful anti-doping agencies, the fda, usda, etc., for creating such a stupid and broken (and useless) system
@@charliemartin2157 Denis is genetically gifted unlike the rest. It's highly unlikely that he took PEDs for armwrestling. He was forced by his team to try HGH when he was still a strongman but it never did anything for him since he already had abornal amounts of it naturally.
curling your wrist in like that in the strap as he has been explaining from 15:00-18:00 and leading with the inside of the wrist like you are pouring a cup onto yourself from an arm wrestling position will shorten your lever, giving you much more leverage. Since Larry's hands are a bit weaker and he is very strong in his arms and back, he can probably overpower most people using this technique. Instead of curling them, just keep your arm in a locked position like at the end of a curl and try to hold it at that angle and just lean back using the strong muscles to pull them using the inside of your wrist to lead the pin with the wrist curled all the way in

I like Denis' approach as a teacher; letting Larry know his strengths, exposing his weaknesses, then showing Larry what needs to be done to make those weaknesses his strengths. If Denis has some time to take out, would like to see him train with Larry soon for a few weeks or so. There is a mutual respect there, and I could see Denis is rooting for Larry to do really well.

Yeah, but during his prime in powerlifting, Denis put up wayyyyy inferior squat and deadlift numbers to Larry's. His claim of 300kg gym bench was not substantiated at all and there's no proof. His max bench in competition was below 600.
@@Asiansxsymbol I know he did 595 in a competition, and I think I've seen a video of him benching a little 600 over in the gym without a pause as well. I just think it's really incredible how Denis managed to accomplish many different feats in the world of strength beyond armwrestling
@@DubYuhGChoppa Yes, his best competition bench was near 600 lbs, but his claimed 300kg gym bench was never proven. Of course he was a good athlete, no dispute about it. But my point being, in general strength, Larry is stronger than all pro armwrestlers in history.

Ive never sat through an entire LW video without skipping forward in some parts, but this is the first LWs video when I watched and listened to every minute, like a child. This was a class of the Master and Student. Thank you Larry for hosting the legend Denis Cyplenkov. Epic video!

Denis is my favorite armwrestler and it would be amazing if he came back but it seems now people are almost pressuring him to come back and face levan. We should first and foremost care about Denis' health above all else. The man literally did everything in armwrestling already and if he takes his time or never decides to come back we should just be happy he is still alive with us. It seems like people are just being selfish in wanting him to come back as soon as possible.
So nice to see a Russian and an American cooperate like that without any ego or animosity, just respect and shared love for the sport. A great example to many. Much love and greetings from Russia!
Most awaited video. Most awaited guest. The freakiest and the humblest in the sport. My personal favorite arm wrestler of all time Denis Cyplenkov. 🙌 . Great to see him.

@MdoubleHB Then you can forget about the absolute top level of arm wrestling. I do appreciate everyone who stays natty, but you can't be the greatest without taking roids. I guess you can claim the " greatest natty arm wrestler of all time " title if you want, lol.
Cant tell you how excited I am seeing Denis outside of Russia and in Dubai sharing his wisdom with Larry.Out of everyone I have seen give tips to Larry ,Cyplenkovs made the most sense .What an honour !
Your interpreter is brilliant. Hope you continue to use him. He’s the perfect interpreter for the world of arm wrestling. Definitely the right guy for the job.
hes quite good, he understands armwrestling vocabulary well, but he could have a slightly stronger normal vocabulary. but hes definitely miles ahead of the other translators people have, like morozov's translator for E v W who was terrible 😅
Yeah people don't realize how hard it is to find a good Russian-English translator and one that understands armwrestling as well. This guy is a gem and he'll only get better with each video.
I've always been a great fan of Denis, not only because of his incredible skills but also because of his great attitude. A very humble champion. Love to see him again! 🙂
The living legend teaching his ways, is just heart warming to see. Also helps that Denis voice is like the one of a giant grisly bear pretending to be a human
Wow,. I have never thought of it, but when the translator said Larry has given the sport so much exposure and brought a lot of people to watching arm wrestling. Then it just popped into my head. I've been watching arm wrestling for almost two years now and I am positive it was from finding Larry's channel. Right around two years ago is when I found Larry's channel, and then I don't remember if he was just starting to get in to arm wrestling then maybe? But that's when I found Larry's and then started branching out to Devon and Michael Todd channel and then schoolboy. That's crazy. I never thought about how I found arm wrestling until right now. I was hooked immediately on the sport. I will never be an arm wrestler myself. Just not possible but I love the sport, and I am now a life long fan of it.
Yea for me it was Jujimufu when he first had Devon on the channel. Or, before that when he said he was GOING to have him on the channel, and then I watched a lot of armwrestling stuff (WAL and stuff) and was already a big fan of the sport by the time he actually got onto the channel lol. I too am not interested in doing armwrestling myself, it's just a really entertaining and interesting sport to watch and think about for me.

This little practice may be the most help I've ever seen Larry get on how to get to strap and to use his strength. Like to see him in a match after mastering this
Looks like he actually got back a little size. I don’t think we’ll ever see him back to his biggest, but he really doesn’t need to be that big to be competitive.
@@Machoke. but need to accept though young is young and old is old. We can do nothing against getting old but you can see there is no more freshness there in Denis. Just watch the young Denis. And Levon is now in his prime.
@@alfredjohnson7596 I don’t disagree. I know there are a lot of people who think he could beat Levan, and I know that’s not true. I mean he can be competitive though against more reasonable opponents. I don’t know if he could be top 10, maybe?, but he could definitely be in the top 20 probably.
@@Machoke. I think he can be even in top 5 if he will reach with fully trained shape. But Levan? Nah I pass.. It would be also enough achievement, after his comeback.
Dude is wildly patient. Usually it's hard for a guy that's so good at a competitive sport to have this kind of patience while teaching. Salute to him. To state the obvious Denis' hand and forearms are almost cartoonish. Freakin Popeye over there, sheesh! Salute to Larry also for being humble and coachable. As strong as he is he took being told he has weak hands like a real champ.
larry knows tho, that being told your hand is weak is not necessarily an insult, as a lot of your hand strength involves genetics, and things you have no control over. Of course, you can always improve, but in your hands especially, there are far more limits compared with strengthening large muscle.
Look at the control Denis has.. it’s unreal.. it would be great to see him back. I believe this is the only man that would have beaten the current Levan.
The Denis that beat Devon would be interesting vs Levan. But the cycle he was on almost killed him. So I doubt he will get even close to his prime self again.

@MdoubleHB dude every professional strength athlete, whether arm wrestling, strongman or powerlifting takes steroids. Without steroids you won't have the level of strength needed to compete at the highest level.
Unfortunately I don't think Larry will get there. He's been trained for the past three years by the best arm wrestlers on earth. You either have it or you don't, and Larry simply doesn't have it.
@MdoubleHB Yeah, right, all top athletes are on steroids. If they tested all athletes for steroids at every event, there would be no more sporting events anywhere.

Denis is the first guy to actually realise and try to get Larry to pull an arm using the same muscles he would to move a really heavy weight from an armwrestling position. Great coaching, if Larry can incorporate this into practice he'll figure it out sooner.
@MdoubleHB almost all top athletes in almost all sports take steroids including Denis...

The amazing thing about Denis is that he actually would have been able to have a great bench press work out with Larry in his prime lifting days too.
Yeah, but during his prime in powerlifting, Denis put up wayyyyy inferior squat and deadlift numbers to Larry's. His claim of 300kg gym bench was not substantiated at all and there's no proof. His max bench in competition was below 600.

@MdoubleHB You have mental illness :) Pathetic loser .

Wow !! That was Awesome!! A Master-class that will increase Larry's Win/Loss INSTANTLY!! Also that translator was great!
Denis looks like he can break Larry's wrist like a twig and thats saying something cuz Larry is strong we know that.
Levan is #1, Denis isn't even close to #2, nor will he ever be again. It's great to see him pulling but he needs to stay clean
@@redthedragon88 - At his peak, I’d say it would be an extremely entertaining match but I agree with you here. He should just stay healthy
Denis does not need to pull Levan. He is a living legend that needs to prove nothing. seeing him on a table, at any time, is a gift to the sport. Just like John. neither of them need to prove anything. we are simply blessed to watch them pull in the modern Era.
Larry! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! And 1000000 times more thank you for inviting our guys, especially Cyplenkov! You are great man!
Denis Cyplenkov, the strongest ever! Much love from Serbia!
As strong as Larry is, the back pressure Denis has is off the charts. It would be interesting to see him back to his competition shape as he was 5 years ago. A true and humble man with legendary strength. I hope he could compete one more time.
He was literally pulling Larry over to his side of the table with his back pressure alone.
He won't be able to return. As a coach, yes, but against the strongest like Levon it is very doubtful. In my opinion, at least four years have passed since Denis does not participate in international competitions.
@@itech0158 And? 4 years is nothing. John came back after a longer hiatus. Why do you find it doubtful? If he says he'll beat Levan, then I'm sure he will.
@@nvmffs There are few great returns and these are units like John or Pushkar and it is not a fact that Denis will be able to return to the top.
@@itech0158 Denis was about to return but corona f*cked him over and he lost his shape he was working on for a long time. I think he had to quit training for months because of the impact from the virus on his body
Denis is such a cool legend. A genuinely great and humble person. There’s no BS with Denis because he knows he has nothing to prove. I really hope we see him return to competition but if not it’s so cool to see him still involved and making appearances on channels other than his own.
Wow even retired Denis still looks like an immovable mountain, this was a really great video.
He's not retired but he's at 50% of his power right now. Levan better hope Denis never gets back up to 90% or more.
@@nvmffs I think he is 53,5% now
