I love these old crime thriller movies. Relaxing on a Friday night reminiscing about the old days, wishing I could go back to a time ,where people had self respect..
i'd rather stay here where indoor plumbing is a thing but just reminisce and also realize people were the same back then as they are now just movies couldn't show it so it looks like they were better :P still awesome movie!
@@supposedly1-2 your response is very wise and insightful. When people think the past was preferable to live in, I'm sure they envision themselves only as one of the lucky ones who didn't die from childbed fever before antibiotics, or see half their 12 children die before age six, or get hauled out of bed and lynched in the middle of the night, or wind up in an iron lung before development of the polio vaccine, or have to pay protection money to the Mafia so the windows of their family's delicatessen weren't smashed in, etc. etc. The good old days were good for the lucky ones, and the privileged ones. And I'm with you on the indoor plumbing! And electricity! Also, I don't miss the wringer washer I ran my arm through up to the elbow when I was five, when my mom had to run back into the trailer to tend two younger siblings who were suddenly screaming. I just couldn't resist touching those rollers, and poor Mom had to run back to a screaming child OUTside, now! Like you said, people were just as bad in the old days as they are now, but movie censorship boards prevented showing it. I grew up in a quiet, poor, decent, teetotalling, lower working-class family in Florida. My maternal grandfather was a lifelong church deacon, lovely man, who grew citrus to give to us grandkids. My paternal grandfather up in West Virginia never set foot in a church, was a coal miner, bootlegger, hell-raising, wife cheating, father of 11 kids. (Fortunately, NONE of his kids followed his example.) Decent and indecent people can exist in the same family, in every era. People have always been free to choose which they want to be. Are more people choosing to be mean, greedy, controlling, and dishonest in their dealings with other people now than in the past, or are they just the ones who get all the attention and media exposure?

I wasn't too keen on the old lady at first at the court house but she grew on me the rest of the movie and found her quite entertaining and funny especially the end scene! Good reveal of the murderer, didn't expect that! Thank you Pizzaflix.
These old movies are so much better that a lot of the stuff out these days. This is one of my favorite go to movies when I'm lying on the couch on a Sunday morning with a good cup of coffee.
I love these old movies 🎥 Sometimes, I think I was born in the wrong decade 😂 This lady’s laugh and personality is awesome 😎 though lol!!! Movies and especially Acting nowadays is garbage in my opinion. Sometimes I’ll come across something good but... Love the humor here! Anyone else agree on less blood n gore, sex and dirty comments is actually refreshing? The special effects in our time is out of this world but sometimes too much of it can ruin it... enjoyed immensely!!! Thank you for posting!!!
I know a girl that laughs just like that and kind looks like the lady in the movie a little . Well she's no a girl anymore we are both in our 50's now 😊
It seems most of the replies Love the lady's laugh as do I!! BTW Never heard of vinegar on apple pie? I will call this a light hearted mystery movie 0:)
ten minutes in i realised i saw this about 6 months ago on this channel, but ive forgotten near all of it, so its like new all over again for me. one of the perks of old age i guess. im enjoying it like new. cheers🎥❤️🥂🍕
Thank you, Pizza Flix! I love to come back and revisit these old comedic murder mysteries with Wallace Ford and company from time to time. It's pure pleasure.❤
I had a coworker who didn’t laugh, she cackled loudly. Nobody told jokes around her when they heard her, very annoying. Another used to clear her throat every 30 seconds and it drove me nuts. This woman’s laugh didn’t bother me, though.
cor8129 had it all figured out. am good at that. enjoyed the old rich lady with that crazy laugh of hers. if the was sent to the nut house, the family would of been really ticked off to find out that she was rich with the wrong king of money.
Absolutely delightful and entertaining! They just don’t make movies like this anymore! Great to see again. Thank you so much for sharing this with us all! ❤️🌈🍀🙏🏻😇❣️
I remember watching this movie 🎥 years ago, it is Fantastic 😊 Thank You so much for Sharing, this has brought back so many happy memories, love it. God Bless 😊🙏
Great little mystery, love how they were able to keep it a mystery and still be humorous ... I wonder if anyone recognized Dave O'Brien (played they role Michael) he also played the role of Ralph in the now classic Reefer Madness 1936 ... It's always a great deal of fun to watch Wallace Ford ... thanks for the upload
For those who don't know, the "bad guy" is the reporter in "The Devil Bat" with Bela Lugosi.👍 I'm starting to recognize faces and voices, so these movies have become even more enjoyable
I love Marion Marsh, she was one of the most beautiful actress in the 30's and she wasn't to shabby in the 40's either. This was one of her last movies. She was born in Trinidad and had that sweet little accent
They could have ended the movie in 5 minutes...she should have eliminated all of them from will and left it for charities. Still a great watch. Really enjoyed it.
I stumbled upon this and really enjoyed it. Sarah Padden as Aunt Cassie was brilliant. That laugh got me every time and reminds me vaguely of someone else but I can't place it. Hm.
These cozy mysteries are fun even though they are old and hokey. Murders in old dark houses at midnight are standard classic cinema. We humans like to be a little scared. :-)
The old 1970's tamil mystery film "Nadu Iravil" directed by S.Balachander resembles this movie. Most of the people thought initially that the movie was inspired by Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None". But actually the plot of that is different. It closely resembles this movie.
* Poppycock * was such a wonderful expression. Funny movie. Love the reference to "The Cat and the Canary" :D "Deducting... you sound like a millionaire making out his taxes" "The Father of our Country slept here" What another.. the father of our country sure got around. "Its a cinch"
One of these movies once a day will keep you smiling and feeling good 💋...such a pleasure to watch!!!
I will accept your prescription, thank you. M
@Dawson Charlie . ass.
She's not your WIFE. She's an independant woman. You're not married.

Despite their self respect those people of the '30s/'40s sure seemed to do a lot of murdering if the cinema was any measure.
Can't beat the old movies .. watched these when I was a kid loved them and still find them entertaining today .. thank you for upload
I know this is a murder mystery, but this is one of the cutest films I've ever seen. Thank you so much Pizzaflix for posting this !

I love this gem. I've watched it a few times. Never gets old!
I just love this heroine, played by Sarah Padden. She's so self assured and cocky and good natured.
I love the old lady’s giggles after every sentence.

She was Kamala's great aunt.

The Denim story is riveting. The comedy left me in stitches. EventualLee, the murderer is taken away in cuffs.
I love the Aunts giggle throughout the movie.

I always like to see Herb Vigran in a good-guy role, and the comedy relief; especially when he broke the fourth wall at the end of the film.

So how was the farmer was able to use her money to buy his farm??? how??? HOW??? 😆
The last line spoken is “the Hays Office won’t like this”. that was Hollywoods Police for decency in movies. Too cute!
