Over 90 years old and still better than anything produced recently.
A different time, entirely.
Such a tired old comment & completely false. 🙄
Indeed :-) @@charles_preston
@@cindytartt4048 Name one -- just one -- recent Hollywood film that even comes close?
Take your time...
Definitely
Great old fashioned Entertainment! No vulgar language, no sex, no sickening graphic murder scenes! Enjoyed this very very much!
Thanks for posting this beautifully restored version of this movie! I've never seen it so clear... much appreciated! 😊🙏🏼
The clothes, the digs, the cars.
Thanks for putting this up for us
The colorizing is wonderful. Thank you CCC for these movies from the past that are far better than the garbage mostly found on television today.
Superb film. And stunning picture & sound quality. Thanks so much for uploading it! 👍
I love any William Powell movies…..if you have any Nick and Nora would be wonderful…
Yup! William Powell was a oner - never made a bad move or movie. He would make a bad movie good just by his presence.
Lots of class.

I have this movie on DVD in black and white, I've never seen it in color, this is really amazing 2 C . Thnk you so much for the upload, it's greatly appreciated.
remarquable. And no one minute boring. Ruthm and brillant realization... Only isx years after the beginning of talking movie... Best than most of the recent productions....
Great Remastered Film. I always love these actors.
Eugene Pallette is the police Sergeant. "A stout character actor, with a deep voice, which some critics have likened to the sound of a croaking frog", Friar Tuck in Robin Hood and the beleagured father in My Man Godfrey. A favourite from this era
Excellent character actor!
Always enjoyed when he appeared in films.
William P. one of my favorite actors of these days gone bye. I've seen this movie a thousand times, but to see in color for the first, AWESOME! I love B/W the shadows & use of our imaginations to fill color in. As a seamstress, wondering for decades what color the clothing was superb! TY for the upload!
one of the few brilliant old detective movies
William Powell was a great actor. Some of my favorite movies were the Thin Man movies with Myrna Loy. He was also in My Man Godfrey with Carole Lombard and Gail Patrick, a fantastic movie.
POWELL WAS A GEM TO WATCH. GREAT ACTOR AND FILMS HE DID.
Stunning picture quality, stunning colour, thank you. And, beautifully edited.
I find the colourising really inconsistent actually.
Agreed.
Stunning color??? You must have loved Avatar.
The colorization is magnificent ! I've seen the film many times...first class !

Yes... A splendor to behold... Education ?@@MilesCraft1

The best! Thank you 💜📽️🎬🎭
Don’t care for the fake colors, much prefer the original black and white. Great movie, thank you
I loved all the Thin Man movies as well.
Movie network next Friday has a Thin Man.
Well, after searching in vain for a good movie made today, here I am back to these great oldies.

Loved all the characters including the adorable Scottie dogs
I love William Powell and Mary Astor.

Wow ! A real gem of a movie. Dick Powell looks different with that mustache !
Very. Especially since it was William Powell.

I LIKE THESE WILLIAM POWELL MOVIES, first time for this one.
Excelente , me encanta este genero de peliculas
Great movie very well done.Don't miss it.
Okay….I grew up watching these movies in black and white BUT I do love the color! It brings so more much life!!❤️😱
I named my dog Captain after seeing this movie. William Powell what a gem ❤️
Aww. I kinda preferred black and white movies. I bet it is just as awesome 😊
I adore the elegant clothes! ❤❤❤
Gowns are by the celebrated Hollywood fashion designer: Orry Kelly.
Designed for hundreds of hollywood films including The Maltese Falcon Casablanca and Auntie Mame.
A truly great movie 🎬 🎞 🎥 🎦 ❤🎉
A Cult Cinema Classic: Which means a studio picture lock stock and barrel. The print is not perfect, and the colorization makes it "otherworldly".... Non-the-less, it's fun to watch, as intended. Not bad
Thank you very much for sharing this picture. The quality of the image estonish me. Make it easier to watch. I Spent a nice time. Thank you
Astonish
FABULOUS movie 😊!!!
Thank you! That was entertaining!
God gave us a way to make things brighter and prettier and we need that
Love these snippets of old Manhattan.
As the actors were shown I realized that the dad, Mr Bullock from My Man Godfrey is appearing with Mr. Powell again.
👍
Old Sherlock Holmes and mrs Marple? 🙏
Thanks for the great picture babe! 🎉
Merci pr le partage, très bonne colorisation, image, son, tt est parfait 👌 👍
Commentaire succinct mais complet et juste.
Great movie thank you 🤩🤩💖
Îmi place genul. Mulțumesc!
Great movie with a very cleverly written who-dunnit theme. Second time I've watched it and I enjoyed it more this time. 8/10 for me. 23 Apr 2024
Just streight up crime. No fringec vulgar langue of acts of violance coated with copious amounts of blood.
Thank you for sharing
God bless
1933. Wow! 👏👏👏🤩
William Powell is great!
George chandler is one of my favorite character actors, along with Milton Parsons and George Zucco.
28:02 sounds eerily like a Doctor McCoy line "I'm a doctor, not a magician.!" William Powell is always great!
William powell acted in Paramount in the films Benson Murder case, SHADOWS OF THE LAW, and others
Thanks for that
The only one , Video:; Great Movie 👍✈️✈️✈️🏈🍷😻🍿❤❤
This is the year my mom was born. She's been gone for 14 years tomorrow 1/25/24. I miss her!❤
Rest In Pieces...
Loved to get these on dvd for the UK
Great dog story!
Different from Best In Show eh?
Rires !
This is a good one.⬅ (Helen is a good one, too.♥)
😊
How was this colorized? The way it keeps shifting, and how smooth everything looks feels like it's been AI'd

38:36 THE SCOTTIE DOG, CAPTAIN. OF COURSE, THIS IS 1933, PRESIDENT FRANKLIN D . ROOSEVELT HAD A BLACK SCOTTIE NAMED FALLA (I AM A BIT OFF ON THE SPELLING).
Boa noite dusdo bem ❤
40:10 -- He showed how the string and pin was used to lock the door, but they kicked the door open to get in so either the bolt or hasp should have been ripped from the door jamb. Both were still intact for his reenactment.
The guy apologized for damaging the door and another guy replied something like no problem it's an easy fix.....time lapse?
When they forced the door the screws on the hinge side pulled out of the jamb instead.
@@BigTrain175 exactly. You even saw the door from the inside as they pulled loose, holding up for one attempt and then giving way on the second one, flying open from the left towards the right side of the door frame. They figured that door breaking scene out very carefully and meticulously.
That's quite a lock to have, when you need to upgrade your hinges for better security. 😮
Good story, well told. btw, I'm ok with black & white because I grew up with it. 🙂but I just watched a Charlie Chan mystery (Toler) and chose the colorized version from the same YT channel. It's always obvious, but IMO never detracts from the o'all experience of a good story/movie. JMHO
magnifica
Closed captioning should bean option.
So meant to say sub titles
Thanks
A+ Thank you
Какой фильм , какие краски🫣Боже! Такого сейчас и близко не снимают!
Who was supposed to have killed the dog and why.
Well, the dog towards the end was a pedigreed Doberman Pinscher, not a bloodhound by a mile😂
're ya sure it's a dog ?...
Glaring error, the gun was an automatic, but they kept referring to it as a revolver.
Anyone have any idea about the music around 44:30? Could it be Carroll Gibbons? It's been stuck in my head for weeks.
I like the show❤🎉
MOM AND I USED TO WATCH THE THIN MAN..ALL. 7 OF THEM..
🔎 Fun fact: Same director (Michael Kurtiz) as Casablanca.
McMillan and Wife Used this method to get into a room in Scottish castle to where a kan was murdered in a locked room.
Molto bello❤
I like the original black and white.
Isn't it funny that everyone involved lives so conveniently close to one another?
SALUDOS.

Nice of u to post this classic pic... Loses original mystery when colorized, tho, imo.
Очень интересный фильм.
IS RALPH MORGAN IN "THE KENNEL MURDER CASE?"
Better in black and white
29:47 The gun is a semi-auto not a revolver.
🌷❤🌷
Women's fashion was equisite at that time.
At the CRIME SCENE AND THEY CRIME SCENE AND THEY LET ALL TJOSE REPORTERS IN!
Then after after the Next interruption of somebody’s food THEN THEY FINGERPRINT PEOPLE!!
Eliminating all the other prints to NARROW IT DOWN SURE MUST HAVE BEEN TIME CONSUMING!
AT LEAST VANCE WIRE GLOVES!!
He was the closest to Sherlock there!!
I like the Zoom in with music and faces-zzzzooom face! Zzzoooom face! As in oh no! Was it that face!? Was it that face??!! This is THE GAME CLUE! Even Butlers-no Colonel Mustard yet🧐
