The first guy shooting a .22 and pretending to have recoil is so funny. Even pistols chambered for .22wmr should not have you moving your hand like that. Like at all.
I could never imagine that pain 💔. I had one child that i found passed away from S.I.Ds at 5 months. I never had another child because I could never go through that pain again. God bless all the parents who lost children 🙏.
@Leto85 I agree. I blamed myself for so many yrs when i lost my son to SIDS people told me it happens and i wouldn't have been able to make a difference. But as his father i felt i should have protected him some how. I was so hurt i got on my Harley and just hit the road for some time. I chose to never have another child. I couldn't bare the pain of that again.
Dude. I shit you not my heart stopped beating at Harley’s section. We were in the same class and at our graduation they had a tribute to him. I’m glad people are still talking about him, he was kind to those who were kind to him. The comment about his channel getting deleted is because he would lose access to it due to it being a school email.
His story resonates with me the most because I also have autism. However, I got to make it past when he passed. Rest in Peace to the young man and I pray all affected by his passing have found peace with his tragic passing
28:20 My father was supposed to be in that building that day (he had been staying/visiting there for cancer treatments). He went home instead... thinking I was going to be in town that day... he wanted to meet me at his house. Something came up and I wasn't in Joplin that day. The tornado went down the opposite side of my Dad's street... wiping every house off the map. It spared his side of the street. He didn't even have a basement to go into. He watched it from his living room window. He decided to let fate deal his hand at that point. He had luck on his side that day. He also beat cancer shortly after. Tough SOB.
I believe Harley Dilly’s first channel was made using a school email, and once he graduated, the account was deleted automatically. I believe this is the case because the exact same thing happened to me.
Maybe the Harley Dilly channel getting deleted in 2 years means he registered his first channel on a school email. School emails are usually deleted after the student graduates, like my first channel was deleted due to that.
That's so sad. I wonder if TH-cam should incorporate some sort of legacy page where deceased TH-camrs have their channels protected from deletion. Something similar to what LiveJournal did since way back in the day if you weren't signing in, the site deleted journals after a year of not being active.
Why would disabling an email address result in the deletion of a youtube channel? That makes zero sense. TH-cam does not regularly check if the email used to register with still exists...
Same bro.. I was pissed when that happened because I was doing CoD videos in high school and got up to 3k subs and then boom, gone, all of it. Decided to not even try again tbh.
I cannot imagine the absolute horror of watching your son be sucked out of a car. I’m horrified and upset just listening to it. I’m glad his family is doing better. Rip.
I'm watching that part right now and struggling to fight the tears. Martyn was my age when he died. He seemed like so many of my friends. Honestly, he reminds me of my most recent boyfriend. I wish I could have known him. He seemed like he would have been a wonderful friend, and I can't imagine how deeply his family must miss him.
I held it together until the final story. God that’s absolutely devastating and I can’t imagine how it felt for Martin’s family to hope that maybe he lost his phone again because it was within Martin’s character only to be told that he indeed died. I started crying when you revealed his stepdad got a matching tattoo in his memory but changed it to be his son cosplaying as his favorite character that he himself got tattooed on himself
The Chloe (Collossal Carnage) one hit me the hardest. My oldest daughter passed away 7 years ago at the age of 17, from suicide. And she was just like this girl, bubbly ALL the time. Head cheerleader, you just never saw her without a smile on her face. Then one day, she's gone. It is sad how hard it is to read our kids these days. I always considered myself a very attentive father, and I never saw it coming. Never. If only I would have asked more questions, or....something. I have no idea what else I could have done. But you parents out there, pay as much attention as you can to your kids. I'm sure there was a sign somewhere that I missed, don't miss it like I did. Please.
will's story is so heartbreaking. literally driving away from highsccool graduation, a loving family and internet fanbase, just about to get his life started.
The willdabeast situation is really sad. As a midwesterner, NOBODY takes tornado watches seriously until a twister is spotted and the sirens are actively going off. Underestimating dangerous conditions like this is a stupid midwestern cultural attitude that my friends and family are seemingly proud to uphold
I’ve only lived in the Midwest for ten years and the amount of people who get excited for storms that are dangerous is insane. Just last night we had a 30 degree change and it brought some severe weather. Locally we were ok, we got lucky and it passed us but the backlash that the poor meteorologists got this morning was too much. Why not be grateful that people and their things were spared?
As a Finnish person about the same age as NaturalSelector89, those videos are burned into my mind. I remember that day very clearly. it felt really weird, the school day came to a stop, even though this happened on the other side of the country. It was not something anyone believed could actually happen and it shook everyone. A few months later, a rumor started going around about there being a potential school shooter in our school. Turned out the rumors were about one of my friends. He was just a shy kid and when the school talked to him about it, it broke him. The school had to address the situation over the intercom system and my friend needed a few weeks off to recover. It goes to show how easily an incident like this can drive fear and distrust into a whole nation.
The natural selector story is just frustrating. There's no telling if he'd have committed a violent crime later in life, but the failure of the Finnish medical system played a huge part. He was denied treatment he clearly needed, then put on medication that affected his behavior negatively. Any sane medical professional would have stopped that medication to try another
@@tiatoi not sometimes but most of the time. you have to fight to get help and when a person is in that condition they hardly have anyone to fight for them to get help. Bunch of pills don't solve these situations, they usually make it worse.
No one bat an eye when he was bullied, not his parents not the school, but when those kids turn evil from bullying now everyone was concerned… people make demons of other people
I'm from Finland and the first part of the video is really well done, just a little side note that at 14:14-14:19 the news footage isn't related to Jokela's case, but another school shooting which happened in 2008, not too long after Jokela shootings. It was at Kauhajoki and the person was inspired to do it bc of Eric. It's just a minor mix up, the rest of the footage is correct/related to the case. Nice work!
I didn't even realize that it was the Jokela shooting until he said about the manifest being in Finnish and English. But really cool knowing that Finnish cases are also discussed outside of Finnish TH-camrs. Kuitenkin kiitos tästä kommentistasi, koska avaat tämän tiedon 😊

Regarding Harley Dilley, chances are he opened his first channel with a school email account, which get deleted once the student leaves. I'm not sure what YT does (did) with channels created with these kinds of emails, but he probably believed YT was going to delete it once he left school.
I thought it may have been opened on TH-cam kids, which doesn't allow a lot of stuff. I only got rid of mine bc it limited or blocked almost anything and everything eg type of content and comments.
Yea i was goin to comment just this, when i went thru middle school and made accounts with my district email, i wasnt able to access any of these accounts after graduating. lol RIP my ps3 account
I was just thinking the same thing. I had a school email that was hosted on Gmail's servers instead of a local exchange server somewhere on campus. It was probably before Google merged all of their account services into one thing, so I never had anything other than email--but I know I've since had a GSuite account with an employer that would log me into all the Google/Alphabet owned services including TH-cam. So, that must've been what was going on with this kid. I'm also not aware of whether or not he could've migrated or merged his videos or channel into another personal Gmail account, but it's' possible that he couldn't have done that, since their GSuite accounts aren't treated like personal accounts where you can do that, and it's basically up to the organization paying for the account to decide whether or not they want to keep his data or wipe it after they disable the account.
Harley's case absolutely wrecks me. He was an autistic child not given adequate support and obviously was lashing out to try and deal with the confusing, alienating, awful school life and his parents treated him like he was a normal kid acting out. Devastating.
no I disagree about him being treated like a "normal kid", locking your child out of the house is not treating them like a normal child. That's outright abuse no matter what... idk about his dad but that woman, his mother, reminds a lot of my manipulative, neglectful, emotionally abusive etc. mother. I don't think she directly had anything to do with his death but the way they treated him contributed to him running away constantly and lashing out.
imagine his last fews days before he passed on innthere from asphyxiation/malnurishment or whatevs i imagine he suffered in there for at lest 2-4 days 😅
@@JK-gm6kk They aren't wrong. And Lake Bodom has nothing to do with shootings, it was a stabbing attack on some campers. Over the last 20 years, how many shootings do you think were in Finland? Like 4. Over the last 10 years, how many do you think have been in the US? Over 4000... They weren't wrong when they said it was beyond rare.
A lot of the older people don’t speak English, so wouldn’t be very familiar with the English speaking side of TH-cam, others don’t even know the shooter was on TH-cam. It’s talked about nonetheless as a very severe failure of the ever crumbling bits of what little mental health care is still left
about the harley dilly thing where he needed to make an account since the other would be deleted: schools give students gmail accounts and those gmail accounts can be used to make youtube channels, and when a student graduates from a school that email address is deleted. he likely made his first youtube channel at a young age using that school email, and the email would be deleted when he would graduate from that school (probably by 8th grade). this is actually what happened to my own first youtube channel!
Harley is my cousin. The channel was made with a school email that would be deleted when he was no longer in the school, hence the new channel. I believe he had hoped to make it a sustainable income source by the time he was 16 and leave school/emancipate himself. Y'all have no idea what the true crime community put his parents through. It was beyond speculation to full-blown harassment while they were actively looking for/mourning their child. My aunt, Heather, may not be perfect, but she was doing the best she could, often on her own bc my uncles job often had him away from home. There was a lot more going on than anyone on the outside knows about, and she did a pretty damn fine job given the circumstances and resources she was dealing with. Thats all I'll say about their family life, as they've had their privacy invaded enough. I myself have always been a true crime fan, but the harm these people caused in their so-called pursuit of the truth has turned me off from these online communities completely. Too many people are too quick to point the finger while forgetting that these are real people. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in court, but on the internet, it seems to be the opposite with no regard for the harm caused, and no reperations or apologies when their little theories are proven bunk. Rest in peace, Harely. You are loved. You are missed. Edit: I appreciate the outpouring of well wishes from many of you. I will not be replying to any more responses, but I do see them and appreciate them. I also want to say, while I myself no longer wish to participate in the true crime communities outside of listening to the stories and keeping them in mind, be it as a life lesson or just to keep a lost person in my thoughts, I know that with the right mindset and morals a lot of good CAN be found. I urge anyone who holds a special interest in these stories to keep spreading FACTUAL awareness when it's appropriate - without personal bias or judgment, without finger pointing or direct/indirect harassment. Keep your eyes wide open and your ears keen when a person is missing or a BOLO issued. Share tips and information through the proper channels. Moderate yourselves and stand up against poor behavior within your communities. When terrible things happen, more often than not, someone out there knows something, and speaking up in the PROPER way can sometimes be the difference between a solved case and a cold case. With those principles in mind, you CAN contribute to making a difference without contributing to harm and enabling those who seek a sick sense of pleasure from spreading hate instead of facts.
We can’t go back and undo the harm we did your aunt and uncle, but we can move forward and be better this time. They deserve their dignity and respect.
God fuckin dammit man. I am so sorry for your loss and your family. If those morons knew anything they would be focusing on where the police ended up finding him the most out of anything. Everything about the very end is just so confusing and upsetting I don't know how I would be able to process that myself. I truly hope you have been able to find peace about this.
The Will segment made me cry. I am not a big cryer. But when his sister started talking about how she does his favorite things on the anniversary of his death, it really got me. And for his parents, losing their son must be devistating.
my guess on the harley dilly "channel deleting in 2 years" thing has to do with him possibly making the original channel on a school email, which would be deleted after he was set to move up in the school. The main issue with this idea is that he was too young to be "graduating", where this is what happened when I graduated, but I'm guessing this was somewhat related to the harley dilly question.
Could be where the email was specific to the school and not the school system? So like maybe it would be deleted when he graduated from middle school instead?
@@Mario87456 You are sick and twisted. Go get a life, you child and at least be respectful. He had his whole life ahead of him, yet it was cruelly taken by something he couldn’t have expected. You must be a terrible person to think that’s “funny”. Grow up.
I didn’t know that Will Norton had a TH-cam channel. I’m from a town south of Joplin, and I used to work at a nursing home there. I remember that awful night vividly.
The most recent example of an abandoned channel is MittenSquad. The creator was battling with alcoholism and got help through rehab. One day, he posted saying he would be back to the video grind soon. He never did because he got sent to the hospital with severe organ failure and died. RIP Paul of MittenSqaud. This is where the real game begins.
I didn't know he died. I saw that post and was waiting for him to return. He made a big part of my senior year of college a lot more bearable. Rest in peace.
Poor Will. I lost my brother in law and his mom in that tornado. My sister was injured and never really got over it. It destroyed a lot of families. I feel for his family.
My goodness! When you see her next please give her a big hug (from an internet stranger but she doesn't need to know that!) I can't imagine losing my husband/his mom in such a way. I sincerely hope she is able to someday recover from this tragedy. I hope you are doing well, too! My condolences for your familys losses, may you all stay safe and healthy for the future❤
It's scary to think that 50 years from now, there will be channels with millions of subs that have not uploaded in years, and tons of comments from dead people. It's scary to think about.
I'm kind of a tornado nerd, and footage from the Joplin tornado is some of the most heartbreaking, panic inducing stuff I've ever seen. Absolutely gutting. The tornado hit mainstreet in the city, right as the high-schools graduation was being let out, when no one expected it. Luckily the graduation was held away from the highschool, which was completely destroyed. Some people never found their cars... which is crazy to think about. Asphalt was scoured from the earth. The tornado was a MILE wide at its widest point. Terrifying. Rest in peace to Will and the 160 others who lost their lives as a result of the monster.
I'm used to tornados and live only miles from the place where the largest tornado ever hit, but the crazy thing about the Joplin one was how people weren't prepared for it. I have family in Joplin and thankfully they were okay but it took a bit to make sure they were okay. Crazy day.
If you are into 🌪️ tornados look up.the Xenia Ohio tornado. I lived not far and there wasn't much of Xenia left and it caused many many more tornadoes.
@CatladyKiefFingers_deLarios I'm not a tornado buff like you but I am from Missouri so I bet our eyes bugged out at the same time when we heard the name of Will's hometown .... Joplin, Missouri "..."
Sorry, I know it's a windy subject, but I gotta mention tornado nerd. I keep imagining a nerd with tornado powers, but they are all kinda geeky and non functional. Like, someone calls the tornado nerd to act as a leaf blower, because he can create wind, but just enough to clear a sidewalk of leaves. Then someone hires him to screw something in place, but he doesn't use anything more than a screw and them spins his whole body in place while holding it. 😂
The antidepressants making Eric aggressive, the rambling, the plans and his mindset changing....as someone who experienced similar stuff on SSRIs and SNRIs, that sounds like mania brought on by antidepressants. It's how many people find out they have bipolar.
That was a big role in Eric Harris’s aggression and decision making with Columbine. Dylans mother as well as Erics diary both expressed that once he was put on Zoloft, which is now known to also have severe aggression as a common side effect and is no longer prescribed as often, it was like a complete change in his attitude and he went from being sweet and rather shy and timid to being very outspoken and aggressive, Erics diary expressing how his hatred of this change in him only further fueled the hate in his heart but his doctors kept him on it because at that time they simply believed it was generic, hormonal teenage boy angst and unrelated to his anti depressants
Yep. I found out that I was Bipolar in a similar manner. They lowered my dosage and my manic episodes made themselves known. Thankfully, they put me on topamax and it helped balance things out.
You know which abandoned channel will always hold the top spot in my heart? Chris Brittain. He straight up taught me to care for birds, even though I've had nearly everything but a macaw. His videos have helped domesticate a bunch of corvids, parrots, pigeons, ducks, peacocks and, get this, I kid you not, geese. His advice works. Solid. That channel is priceless. Even though he left the world at such a young age, he left behind more than most people in the world managed to.
Willdabeast's story was indeed sad and terrifying. That's why I always take tornadoes very seriously, especially major ones. I can't imagine what his father felt from that F5 disaster.
I just watched an hour and a half video about youtubers dying. I don't know why this was on my feed, but you have a great voice and are pretty decent at keeping people engaged.
the harley dilly story is really upsetting, especially personally as I was also an autistic child of emotionally neglectful, overly punitive parents who loved them but also saw them as a problem. i can sympathize somewhat with the public suspicion and backlash, but i think it was mostly unwarranted. not every neglectful parent is the type to think of murdering their own child. Not every situation will play out like a TV drama with a designated villain. by continuing to insist on a fantasy version of events, in the end you're just contributing to the overall misery of the situation. rest in peace harley
I do believe foul play did happen because a child would have never been able to get in there to begin with. And what police officer puts the jacket on the door before taking a picture of the crime scene But I wouldn’t harass anyone. Just hope that if foul play happened that those involved have a healthy dose of Karma come their way
@@andrewmaximo4485- Agree. There are so many fools online who know little about what the police are uncovering regarding a case but immediately start pointing fingers, often for no reason other than that they “have a feeling.” No one who viewed this video, or even viewed all of Harley’s, understands the entire dynamic between this family, nor were they there during the police investigation. To harass parents and accuse them of ending their own child is reprehensible.
She didn't directly murder him. But if he wasn't feeling neglected he wouldn't had have the need of hiding in an empty house for fear of what mommy could do to him I know people frowns upon "judging a book by its cover" but holy shit that lady has all the looks of emotionally abusing her kids
I'm sorry. But in what world is a child going to climb up an antenna onto the roof of a house and then down the chimney? That is so insanely unrealistic. Do I think the parents killed the kid? I don't know. But the idea that this was "some freak accident" just doesn't make sense. And those officers should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such a nonsensical answer.
Will seemed like such a sweet guy from his videos, it's heartbreaking that he lost his life before it even really began. I'm glad his sister is doing well and that she has so many happy memories of him to look back on.
Discovering this video, randomly, going down the rabbit hole of TH-cam, at 3am... I always got that eerie feeling when I would come across old profiles. While some of these were a bit more known, I happen to come across a lot where they have only 5 - 20 subscribers, obviously from the early TH-cam days. Some are really good music covers, instrument covers, or even grainy looking recorded outings, or video game coverage. You get this feeling of loneliness, or the thought-provoking: "Why have they never returned??" Even if they only had a few videos, some, even just a mere one upload, it still gets you thinking. Nonetheless, there is sadness in all of these stories. Will Norton's story hit me pretty hard, along with Chloe's; what a sad, sad happening. Glad to hear that he is honored, and not forgotten. What a beautiful soul! So eerie, indeed, of his story about him being in harms way on his way to school, only to be taken away by the biggest Tornado the area has seen since all those years ago. R.I.P. Will
I felt a pit in my stomach seeing yoteslayas name come up. He was fucking huge in the borderlands and Black ops zombies communities. Idk if he was brought up in the video past the intro but he was partying with his step bro and girlfriend or something along those lines and the were all 3 drinking and driving and sadly their vehicle was hit by a train. The only channel in the Borderlands community that really honors his life Morninafterkill Another channel that should've been mentioned seeing as it was HUGE is Talkingkittycat. SteveCash83 used to make these videos that took heavy inspiration off of the old school N2 talking cat videos and they made a pretty big chunk of yt history. He had a lot of mental health issues and I'm sad I didn't see it nor catch on. Sometime in 2019/2020 his battle against himself took its toll and he took his own life with a bullet to the chest. There’s just nothing you can do if one drops down on you, and it happens all the time. About a year ago, one hit less than a half mile from my mom’s house and destroyed so much stuff right down the road. Damn nature, you scary.

I stopped taking them and got brain zaps for months. Thankfully I was prescribed the dopamine reuptake inhibitors rather than the serotonin reuptake inhibitors and I got better. They’re a VERY dangerous thing if you don’t need them, and it’s so stupid that they’re given out like candy to anybody who says they’re sad without a proper mental evaluation.
There's an abandoned channel called no joke Howard as well. He's a white American who decided to document his move to Mexico. He died soon after. Strangely he died after an altercation with a guy that lived in the same apartment building over loud music. Before his move to Mexico he documented his time living in Cambodia as well. There is so much truth in that quote. “We shouldnt turn him into a monster. We shouldnt turn him into a hero. We need to think of him as exactly what he was. A pathetic fucking teenager”. Most people would love to be a hero. Some would love to be a monster. Nobody wants to be pathetic. We encourage this behavior with our media coverage of these incidents. Period.
A big part of that is the way that serial killers will be given a nickname and, with enough kills, will be made into celebrities. Holy how would his parents feel you guys watch to much true crime please grow an actual heart, and brain. Think more than “it have be parent it always parent.”
I don't like to cry, but seeing what Martyn's mom did in response to the disaster and the fact that his stepdad got the tattoo of something that would have meant so much to him has me blubbering like a baby. As soon as you said "Ariana Grande concert" my stomach sank, I hate that such a ray of sunshine was wiped away from us so early.
I felt the exact way you have been discribing. What a horrible coincidence. The moment the concert was mentioned, my heart sank. I thought it was so meaningful too, that the members of the cast of the show have attended his funeral.
Same. I don't know him, don't know of the show except its name, but his story, especially the outpouring of love, tbe show's stars paying tribute, and both of his parents' responses, still hit hard and I teared up for sure. I had the same reaction too the moment he mentioned Ariana's name, & literally said "oh no" out loud. Poor kid... It's great to see that he left such a great legacy though - between the community he created & the real world good that the law in his name might do to prevent future deaths. ♥️
The second he mentioned an Ariana Grande concert and Manchester in the same vein, my heart dropped. Didn't even need to see the end to know where it was going.
I've never come across a mention of that bombing in years but when I heard that Martin lost his life in an Ariana Grande concert, somehow my brain still managed to instantly dig up what exact event was being talked about and I frowned accordingly.
God I remember that day so vividly. My uncle passed away on the same day, not in the attack, and every time the date rolls around I light a candle. It was just so so heartbreaking.
Ya Missouri weather is bipolar. This week for example we had high of 80 and low 20s at night all under 24 hrs People no joke do not know how crazy it gets here in missouri
Through all the sad and disturbing of these stories, hearing the one about Peter, it was probably the most heartwarming story. It reminded me of my nan and the stories that she would tell us about the war and what she lived through. Will's, Martyn and Harley's stories broke my heart.
True me thats not all of it checked out phantom ghost shooter or the youtuber who fell into a mine or the anime tik tok girl who attacked her boyfriend ...
Geriatric1927, I will never forget you. I only learned of you today but you seem like such a sweet man. I wish I could have known you. I would have loved to sit and listen to you tell your stories. Rest peacefully Peter Oakley ❤️
Bro... every now and then I try to search up abandoned channels or at least one that are lost to me, this is my favourite ''topic''... AN HOUR AND A HALF BROOOOOOOO YESSSsssssss
These hit so hard... but in the end, you've gotta celebrate the fact that they were people doing their thing and living life giving you tiny glimpses of what things were like elsewhere from you. The unpolished days of YT were and still are the best that could have been. RIP to all these creators.
Well I would say rest in piss to Mr. NaturalSelection or whatever the fuck his dumb name was. Rest in Peace to those that died because of everyone neglecting the signs and his instability
Wavy's gotta be one of my favorite TH-cam documentarian/storyteller type creators. A lot of interesting topics, many of which I find myself surprised that I didn't actually know before, and he does a good job of covering them.
The why files along with that chapter are really good as well. I've been a long time subscriber of both since their subscriber count was still in the 4or5 digits range and they keep upping their game like wavy and more so with "The Why Files" and I'm always looking for new content to check out so if you like wavys content I highly suggest them too
Honestly I appreciated the more heartwarming story in the middle there, it was nice and it is an hour and a half video after all. It gave my heart a bit of a break lmao
@@judahbarracuda_same!! It’s still so very sad he had stage 4 cancer but I agree with the creators comment that we need more oral historians telling their stories in old age. We miss out on so much wisdom as people of his generation pass on - Covid wiped out so many people who lived through and fought in WW2, and so many of our grandfathers just couldn’t talk about it. 💔💔 I’ll definitely be looking for his channel ❤️
My friend Collin Crane of Batavia,NY passed away in December of 2012. One year before he graduated. Alot of these youtube dates, and cases made me think. I miss my friend so badly.
The Martyn's story still breaks my heart till this day, he was just having fun uploading videos of his favorite show and was just vibing to the concert, its really messed up that something tragic has to happen whenever someone is just enjoying life. :(
Right? I downright cry when I saw his picture dress up as the character he loved so much 😢 I'm glad that at least he had a great time and seemingly had the support of those around him ❤
Yeah i feel so terrible to what happened to him and it feels so recent even though this was all the way back in 2017 at the ariana grande concert, i remember that being on the news but i never bothered to find out what happened as i wasnt as interested but this video tells me what happened now. Its even worse to find out it came from another muslim who committed a terror attack and took the life of martyn. As a muslim myself, this was a horrible thing to do from that guy and a sweet lovable guy such as martyn was cruelly taken with him along with all those who also died that day. RIP martyn
There’s an abandoned channel I found that had a shocking reason. I’m from Louisiana and go hiking a lot. A while back I found a channel called Louisiana Hikes where a man named Eric Heber films various trails and what they’re like, sometimes with his adorable daughter and dog. At the time, it showed he hadn’t uploaded in a few months, which isn’t that long, I just assumed it’s been a minute since his last upload. I went to follow him on Instagram and that’s when I discovered he had taken his own life. I was shocked. They have since uploaded a memorial video.
The most devastating thing i have ever ran across on youtube is a tutorial on how to duel in Red Dead Redemption done by a girl that died shortly after because of health complications. Rest in peace Spawny and thanks for the tips.
Thanks for putting in the more wholesome story of Geriatric1927. It was nice to hear about a old man embracing new online culture and using it to tell his story to newer generations in his final days. A well-needed break from the other tragedies.
I'm always fascinated by the few surviving WWII vets. My great grandfather served in the British Army and was present at the Dunkirk evacuation among other things. Sadly he died long before I was even born, when my dad was a kid in the early 80s.
God bless Harley's soul, what a terrible way to go and I can only imagine the absolute agony his mother felt and still feels to this day about her baby being suffocated to death In a chimney nearby. I hope his family and friends can find peace 🕊️
Stobe is a legend. We in the railroad community love and mourn him to this day. He was a genuine guy, very knowledgeable and a wonderful person to be around.
I found HobeStobe the very same week he passed away. I had binged every single video that he'd uploaded, caught up in a week, and was excited to see his next video. I was devastated when I learned he'd passed away while I was playing catch-up. He always seemed like such an intelligent and thoughtful person. I had hoped to hear more of his unique perspectives on life and watch more of his adventures... Except I would never see more. He was just gone... I wanted to get back into model railroading. I'm gonna have a tiny little HobeStobe ride the rails, and he'll never have to ride an FNBS hopper... Never ever....
you aren’t in the railroad community if you’re applauding him, you’re a railfan commenting on trains. no actual railroad worker likes these people, they’re a liability to the trains and make their jobs worse. he was a criminal trespassing on railroad property putting himself in danger and paid the ultimate price: what happened to him is why actual railroad workers hate hobos!
Willdabeast hits close to home as a lost fellow content creator. Literally, as Joplin, MO is an hour from us. We worked in surgery and brought in many ER patients the night of that tornado and remember it well (Joplin lost their hospital that night). We've seen the regrowth their community has undergone but the city is still covered in scars from that event; all reminders of what, and who, was lost.😢
me and my family live not too far away from there, just a few hours. we know a girl who suffers from extreme ptsd from the tornado. she only survived by hanging onto some sort of electrical cord that was in the ground. everything around her was ripped apart and i dont know how she survived.
@@zoequintanilla3866 PTSD from storms and weather like this can be really difficult to deal with; not to cheapen it, but thinking of it as how pets may react, for those wondering, imagine being that put off and on edge by storms. Really sorry to hear this, but thankful that she survived.
@@DoYouNerdAs someone diagnosed with PTSD from a tornadic storm (I was 4, and it haunts me even now, I actually had a nightmare last night), I think that analogy is accurate. It's like this primal, instinctual fear that starts to creep in as weather conditions turn right to form a storm. Add in weather alerts or thunder....it's harrowing. I actively avoid traveling and hunker down if the air and sky seem particularly right for a tornado.
The people saying HobeStobe would never make such a rookie mistake have to remember that Father Time is undefeated. Although he was young, he had still been doing this thing for 10 years. With repeated action over such a lengthy period, your body starts to slow either from complacency or from wear. You are not as athletic, nimble, or agile at 33 as you were at 23.
Add in all the drinking and the likelihood of not taking proper care of his body, I'm sure his 33 had some extra aging. That's if it wasn't the drinking that caused his mistake.
I think Stobe knew he was going to die out on the rails. I remember a video he was in with (I think) RanOutOnARail or another young rider. He seemed unusually morose and regretful seeing folks below the age of 20 riding the rails. He had a very realistic outlook on the dangers of railhopping despite his cheeky persona.
Also the tune that he played first when he said hobe did his own music scores in his videos, well that was clearly the Beatles, Across The Universe. Maybe he did his own in most of the videos, I don't know. But that first one was the Beatles.
From my understanding (an article I read somewhere a few years ago)..Stobe passed away due to trying to jump OFF a train in a hurry, the strap to his backpack/bag got caught on the train and caused it to go wrong. Alcohol may have been involved slightly but his strap getting caught on the train when he jumped is what caused it…I could be misremembering though.
I'd say alcohol had quite a bit to do with it. In every video he either had alcohol with him or he was drinking it. Not to mention the article where he admitted that being drunk almost got him killed before. Seemed like he was an alcoholic. Very sad story, but I guess at least he died doing what he loved.
From what I read, he jumped off a freight train and then his bag got snagged by an Amtrak train moving on an adjacent line...and you can imagine the rest
Oh my god… I remember Martyn. I was watching the Wendy Williams show & she started crying at some point, saying “you might have noticed we left an empty chair in the audience”. She then explained it was for Martyn cause he was supposed to attend the show but never could because he had passed in the Ariana Grande concert explosion. :(
Correction @01:15:20, Brian aka Yoteslaya was NOT driving the car when he died it was his friend Ryan - whose body was found pinned behind the steering wheel. Also it's pronounced 'yotee slayer' - 'yote' is the last part of the word 'coyote'.
I always find it funny when people call serial k!llings or self deletion caused by bullying "natural selection", when in reality d34th by murd3r couldn't be any more unnatural, and they are just openly admitting to being a bunch of heartless, apathetic tw@s.
That story really gets to me because I was pretty much him. I was bullied pretty much my entire childhood, was put on antidepressants and I eventually had a psychotic break and was placed into a mental ward for my own safety. Once I got off the medication and began doing gym and martial arts my mental state improved almost immediately. To think that I could've ended up much the same as him
He wasn't even a good social Darwinist. That belief system has an entire different set for what is "better" since the nature of social behavior would weed out people that act antisocial more than anything else (like him)
@@death299 The thing about social darwinism is that it's BS, it was basically Darwin's stupid cousin getting paid by rich cunts to repeat how they were the best by nature. In essence, whenever a social darwinist tries to come up with good behaviours, they just create an idealized vision of themselves. It's toxic to themselves and others, because it makes them hate their own self while also anyone different. Then again, if they all offed themselves, it would be in line with their idea of cleansing society.
You really do an excellent job handling the severity and tragedy of these stories. No jokes to make them easier to hear, no insults toward those channels for their content, just sincerity. It's admirable. You're an excellent creator, one I've supported happily for years as your hard work pays excellent tribute to so many creatures of this wild world wide web.
He really is one of the best at making these kinds of videos. So many channels I have blocked because of their awful handling and portrayal of real life events and Wavy has been on point since I started watching him a few years ago.
This is my first video here. I really appreciate being spoken to as an adult with well-chosen words. I hadn't heard of all but one case. Very well done!
For the thing about a TH-cam channel being deleted “in two years”, it makes me think the kid made it with his school account and then realized that said accounts aren’t permanent. Could be wrong tho.
I knew someone who was in that school in Finland at that time. We met online, and just a couple of months before it happened we met in person on a convention here in Sweden. To this day I remember having a blast with them, basically connecting further because they were Finn, and well... so am I, technically, although a second gen immigrant in Sweden. Then 2 months later, I heard from my mum about what happened, who had heard it from her siblings and read about it on the news. I think it was around 10 days before I heard from the person, to hear they were alive. They hadn't been hurt, but they were traumatised, suffering what I now know would be PTSD symptoms, which makes sense. They never had the same presence online again, and eventually, I lost contact completely because they disappeared off all accounts I knew they had at the time and most of those places have since closed down too. I still think about the entire thing. Not often, but I do. I hope that person is doing okay these days.
My cadaver dog and I worked Search and Rescue in the Joplin tornado, I lived 45 minutes away. It was the worst deployment I’ve had anywhere, state, country. I quit after 13 years. That’s all I’ll say about the horror I found under debris.
Thank you for your service. So sorry you had to go searching for the horror, but I’m sure it still brought families peace to at least have an answer. I hope you’re able to put it behind you ❤️ Jesus bless you and give you peace.
Thank you for doing that horrible thankless job. I'm sure your courage gave closure to many families who would have been left wondering. I hope you are ok.
Thank you, I know I’m the 5th person to say it but I mean it. I don’t think I’d have it in me to do what you did for work but the fact is someone needs to be there to do it and fortunately good hearted people like you are willing to. Take care
I normally don't get personally effected by these stories but something about the story about Will just made me get a little chocked up. Seemed like such a nice guy who had great aspirations for the future. Rest in peace Will.
Same! Something about that story in particular took me out. Especially the part about his dad trying to hold him in the car and being unable to. I don’t know, that part just got me. You know the dad was fully ready to trade places with him if he could. That story was so sad. And on his graduation day! Man, just every piece got more sad.
@@sparkdrive2900i think it was mostly just wrong place wrong time. They had no way of knowing what was to come or that they would end up in the center of it, and I believe the tornado was on wills side of the car. Tornado warnings are so common in those places theyre often ignored as its basically the boy who cried wolf, and usually nothing would come of them. But this time it wasnt just a warning, and many people lost their lives or loved ones because of it
Thank you for your empathy and putting effort in getting all the background to these stories. Rare is to find such profound love for humane aspect of these channels. They are all heartbreaking tales, but the one about that kid youtuber made me realise how important gaming might be to the young ones. Thank you.
My heart goes out to Will’s family. I got emotional watching her sister speak. I lost my brother too in a tragic way and miss him everyday. I hope his sister and his family are doing okay. ❤
I lost my husband to cancer and it's horrific enough that I dream about not being there when he died (I went home from the hospice because the doctor said we both needed to rest up, and I didn't even get woken up when they phoned in the middle of the night) five years on. So right after watching that segment I got a photo of our wedding from somewhere and put it up on the bookshelf I face while working from home. It tells me he may be gone but I'll see him again some day. (Also I've dreamt once or twice about telling him all about the pandemic and Ukraine war and so on -- he died in 2019 so there's actually an awful lot to write home about!) He actually uploaded some homemade music videos to TH-cam. His account is UNIT2007 -- but it was abandoned long before he died.

My heart sank as soon as wavy said Martyn was "preparing for an Arianna Grande concert that was to take place in Manchester". I still can't believe that happened
Neither can I, it still makes my eyes well up every time. Opening up facebook that morning thinking wtf has happened then seeing people share things around of either news of it and photos/videos from people who were there put up of the chaos and fear along with some photos of clothing that had well things from other people on them. My heart breaks knowing the fact 22 innocent people died even someone as young as 8 all because of some evil person/group.
@@ryandavies-kj2ixIt’s just horrible to think, even all these years later. As someone who loves going to gigs it made me so angry. No-one should ever go to a gig and not come home :( One of my good friends sisters was injured at the arena. When you aren’t directly from Manchester you don’t assume that anyone you know, or their friends or family could be caught up in it. She had to have surgery on her legs from shrapnel but, thankfully, she wasn’t more seriously injured. Of course we all need to remember those that lost their lives but I think many forget about those that ended up having life-changing injuries from it, and those that will have been scarred psychologically. It’s not just those that were injured but many of the people there must have seen some awful sights, that no one should ever have to see, that night.
hearing about the manchester bombing and martyn hett still tugs on my heart. He lived basically where I live. I remember the day that it happened, some of my classmates were there, one of them lost someone. At school we held a minute's silence for it a few years in a row. you never think you'll be that close to such a horrible incident, but then it happens and everything changes. Even all these years later, people are still anxious about something happening again. Hearing his sister talk about it, too. Heartbreaking. I'm glad she's apparently doing well.
I'm so sorry for your loss man, that's just terrible... no one should go through that

Dilley was born in 2005 so he would’ve graduated
This is a very good answer and likely what Wavy is after. Makes perfect sense.

The Chloe (Collossal Carnage) one hit me the hardest. My oldest daughter passed away 7 years ago at the age of 17, from suicide. And she was just like this girl, bubbly ALL the time.
Makes sense, if an alert is on often without consequences it's basically the boy crying wolf
Same shit in Florida, we actually have storm/hurricane parties, evacuating is just a suggestion to us 😅

Any sane medical professional would have stopped that medication to try another
Unfortunately, cured patients make less money then ones that continue to go uncured
Yup. That's how it works in Finland. Mental health services here are a joke sometimes.

That's outright abuse no matter what...
idk about his dad but that woman, his mother, reminds a lot of my manipulative, neglectful, emotionally abusive etc. mother. I don't think she directly had anything to do with his death but the way they treated him contributed to him running away constantly and lashing out.

about the harley dilly thing where he needed to make an account since the other would be deleted: schools give students gmail accounts and those gmail accounts can be used to make youtube channels, and when a student graduates from a school that email address is deleted. he likely made his first youtube channel at a young age using that school email, and the email would be deleted when he would graduate from that school (probably by 8th grade). this is actually what happened to my own first youtube channel!

When I was a kid we used our own emails . I remember in like 7th grade telling my teacher my email was mexicanpimp0
I had the same school account until I graduated high school.
I'm so sorry for your family's loss.
Sorry for your loss
We can’t go back and undo the harm we did your aunt and uncle, but we can move forward and be better this time. They deserve their dignity and respect.
God fuckin dammit man. I am so sorry for your loss and your family. If those morons knew anything they would be focusing on where the police ended up finding him the most out of anything. Everything about the very end is just so confusing and upsetting I don't know how I would be able to process that myself. I truly hope you have been able to find peace about this.
The true crime communities are full of insane people that are willing to do some grimey stuff. Very volatile.
He may have just been moving schools, my friends lost their old school emails in grade 10 because they switched schools
If his plan was to transfer to another district for high school then his middle school e-mail would be deleted at that time.

I don't know much about tornados but it's wild to me that it just came out of nowhere and no one predicted it. Deeply unfortunate and tragic.
The antidepressants making Eric aggressive, the rambling, the plans and his mindset changing....as someone who experienced similar stuff on SSRIs and SNRIs, that sounds like mania brought on by antidepressants. It's how many people find out they have bipolar.
Homicidal rage side-effects that come from withdrawals are not a lie.
Thankfully, they put me on topamax and it helped balance things out.

the harley dilly story is really upsetting, especially personally as I was also an autistic child of emotionally neglectful, overly punitive parents who loved them but also saw them as a problem. i can sympathize somewhat with the public suspicion and backlash, but i think it was mostly unwarranted. not every neglectful parent is the type to think of murdering their own child. Not every situation will play out like a TV drama with a designated villain. by continuing to insist on a fantasy version of events, in the end you're just contributing to the overall misery of the situation. rest in peace harley
The internet detective sensational narratives and the harassment that ensued ticked me off.
I do believe foul play did happen because a child would have never been able to get in there to begin with. And what police officer puts the jacket on the door before taking a picture of the crime scene
But I wouldn’t harass anyone.

As soon as you said Joplin and 2011 my heart sank. As a Midwesterner myself tornados are both normal and scary. That one was an absolute monster
They're all really sad cases in some form or another. But that Harley one is especially sad to me; because that kid must have been absolutely terrified before he died.
I have a little brother and that one just hits me so hard 😔 ugh
As much as I hate conspiracy theories, I feel like it’s a bit disingenuous to take the police explanation on the matter or at least rule it out as the one definitive truth. I couldn’t for the life of me believe a smart and bright kid like that would put himself in a situation that he probably knew he wouldn’t get out of

I love this guy. He's always so respectful when needed and funny when appropriate. Keep up the good work. Oh and thanks for making me cry
I have cried too, I dodnt know about him until this video still it is tragic story both for Martyn and Will Norton.
I've had that sinking feeling twice now in this vid. The mention of Joplin Mo. was the first for me. I knew where he was going with that.
When I saw the tattoo his dad got for him I started choking up immediately. Oh man.
The second he mentioned an Ariana Grande concert and Manchester in the same vein, my heart dropped. Didn't even need to see the end to know where it was going.
Same here, I audibly went nooo....
I though "ahh fuck" didn't expect the bit with the tattoo and it genuinely me well up
I've never come across a mention of that bombing in years but when I heard that Martin lost his life in an Ariana Grande concert, somehow my brain still managed to instantly dig up what exact event was being talked about and I frowned accordingly.
That particular story got me in the feels. :(
God I remember that day so vividly. My uncle passed away on the same day, not in the attack, and every time the date rolls around I light a candle. It was just so so heartbreaking.

I'm always fascinated by the few surviving WWII vets. My great grandfather served in the British Army and was present at the Dunkirk evacuation among other things. Sadly he died long before I was even born, when my dad was a kid in the early 80s.

I live a few hours from Joplin. I can’t imagine working in an ER at that time, that sounds horrifying
me and my family live not too far away from there, just a few hours. we know a girl who suffers from extreme ptsd from the tornado. she only survived by hanging onto some sort of electrical cord that was in the ground. everything around her was ripped apart and i dont know how she survived.
I grew up in a home similar to Harley’s. I feel for the kid. Just a sad situation the whole way round. Rest up young soul.
Yes, you are correct about Father time being non negotiable...... except for Tom Brady! Yes, the photos TB12 had of F.T must be WILD!
@@peperoniebabieBut then why keep doing it? That's what I don't understand. It wasn't like he had to
Also the tune that he played first when he said hobe did his own music scores in his videos, well that was clearly the Beatles, Across The Universe.
Yes, the strap on backpack got caught. He was 30 at the time. Just seen a different video yesterday on him. Whether he was drinking or not...no clue.
"He was also a social darwinist" gee i would have never guessed that NaturalSelector89 would be a social darwinist
He lived up to the total depravity of man.
That's what it was.
According to somebody who claims to be related to them, thats exactly what it was.
