If I remember rightly when Thomson Holidays Absorbed Horizon Holidays into themselves they took their Boeing 737-300 Series Aircraft but they sent Orion's Airbus A300 Aircraft back to the leases. Salad Days Our First Foreign Holiday Was July 1985 to Majorca With Orion Airways A Boeing 737-200 Series To Palma From Manchester Airport. Treasured Memories with both my late Mum & Dad Rhona & Alexander.
As the in house airline for Horizon Holidays, I flew with them many times. I remember choosing Horizon above other tour operators just because the airline was so good in comparison to others, Britannia (Thompson), and Monarch (Cosmos) to name but two!
My Dad worked for Horizon and we flew with them a lot. This must have been around 1986 when I was about 21. It was easy to get a visit to the cockpit and I also remember chatting up a very friendly stewardess at the rear of the plane. They were nice times. More relaxed and fun I think.
Happy memories. I used to work as cabin crew for Orion from 1984 to 1989
there was a song they used to play on board, which sounded like Jaki Graham, do you remember what it was?
@@Paintheshed Don't remember that. We just had vile elevator music

The glory days of flying and going on holiday. What went wrong ? Its nowhere as good now and most of the good airlines have now finished.
I’m 99% sure at 3:08, Julie is Jane from the TV show Airline?! Just search old episodes and tell me I’m not wrong! 😂
I can't remember her last name, but she is not Jane from airline. I used to work for Orion with these girls.
And then Britannia bailed them out.
an a300 was a wide bodied aircraft but this isnt.orion used 737s i believe
+Michael pound Orion had two A300's in the latter part of their existence. The rest of the fleet were 737-200's becoming -300's post 86.
yer i know i was merely saying the post says a300 of which this is clearly not
+Michael pound .... Yes. I know it's a 737 on the title shot. The video covers the delivery of the A300's later on. What's your problem?
+David Barrington give it a rest mate.I was making comment.Jesus twat
@@davidbarrington8202 ooohh you wanna chill out mate. Sounds like the only "problem" around these parts is actually you and your twatty attitude.
