Hi Tom, hand planing a large piece can be a big job, thanks for showing how to tackle this. How did you go about gluing the boards together? Would love to see the finished table if possible, take a picture. Have a great 4th of July, see you next week on SNL.
Thanks Steve, I just jointed all the edges true and first glued together the three main pieces, one at a time... no biscuits or dominoes, expect for one end where I wanted to be sure it didn’t open up. Then glued two of the three planks together, then the third onto that to make the full top. So it was glued up in five stages, being sure to align accurately and get nice glue coverage. Also, I used protective scrap strips of the same thickness to keep the clamps from marring the previously jointed edges. It all went surprisingly smoothly when taken in stages like that. I’ll make a point to get a finished photo when it’s in its town office home. Have a great weekend yourself! Thanks, Tom
@@EpicWoodworking Sorry, I use Shapton glass stones. The trend might be a little to aggressive for water stones. I am somewhat of a newby with this type of thing so excuse my inexperience.
