You mentioned that you would include a link in the description for building your jointing jig. I can’t find it. Did I miss it? Lack of a jointer hampers my woodworking but it’s too large a piece of equipment to fit in my garage shop.
I was taught as a kid, erm, over 50 years ago that when ripping a board on a table saw always have the smaller part as an off-cut with the larger piece against the fence. NEVER cut off a strip against the fence. Pretty much common sense IMHO. You can't control a small strip very well (grrripper not withstanding and I love mine) against the fence with the lever of the large piece outboard. I shudder when I see YT videos of peeps cutting strips against the fence for repeated cuts. *sigh* use a stop block on the other side outside the blade as a reference before the blade. Much safer and arguably more accurate. Best table saw safety tip I've ever been given: PAUSE before you cut and THINK TWICE about what's going on and what might happen WITH EVERY cut. Accidents happen mostly when you think "it's just one quick cut...".
I have two, the CT36 and CT48. Love them. I think the CT36 is the better value for the price. Nice size capacity and still just as powerful as the CT48 without the extra bulk.
@@731Woodworks excellent, the CT36 is down to $788 on their reconditioned site right now. Do you think that it would work well with a Dewalt 735 w/Shelix or does that really need a larger diameter hose to handle all the chips and such?
I know two people who used brad nailers to attach their fingers to the trim they were nailing. One of them penetrated the bone and he had to take his (small) piece of trim to the emergency center to have it surgically removed.
Everyone is wrong when it comes to wood acclimation. As a truck driver, I make freight deliveries to Home Depot and various lumber yards and when it comes to construction pine, they are shipped on open platforms and unwrapped, totally exposed to the rain. Other lumber is completely wrapped. When I make deliveries to construction sites, all of the lumber is exposed to the elements and are used wet or dry. Sometimes I would go to hd to by pine 2x4 and they would be very wet. Lumber especially pine only warp when they get soaking wet then left to dry for long periods. Don’t acclimate. Use it right away, especially if wet.
So I may have purchased my first Woodpeckers today. Bought some clamps as well, all in all spent a little over $200 today, but I got in on some sales this time around. Thank you Matt for the text!
While they have different spellings, acclimate, acclimatise, and acclimatize mean the same thing. These three words are most commonly used as a verb meaning “to become accustomed to a new climate or to new conditions.” The main difference between these three words is their origin and country of usage.
I lost count of how many things you were selling. your posts are like a very long infomercial with a little woodworking advice but alway advice pushing your swag. Kudos to you for figuring out how to seem like your giving g helpful advice only but its all actually part of your unique sales pitch. I love your story man, rags to riches I just you were a little more genuine
I’ve got a couple of those wall racks they’re fantastic. Hi Matt can I ask something when cutting on table saw you feed the wood in from the left to the fence and the bit of wood on the right side the blade and fence is the bit you want. Can you cut the wood if it comes in from the left. So everything is the mirror image if you understand what I mean. My son is left handed and I’m right. Cheers Steve 👨🏼🦽👨🏼🦽🇬🇧
I never figured out why everyone seems to urge people to spend so much time and effort to create hardwood slides when you can get perfectly fitting aluminum bars for a few bucks apiece. Also, with a little work, you can tap in some threads and countersink on the side of aluminum bars for nylon screws that you can adjust to remove slop (which you probably won't need anyway). Also also, aluminum bars don't wear down or warp.
What a fun surprise! I know that Colleyville, TX Woodcraft location very well. I’ve also taken classes with Steve Julian. I meet you at VidSummit in 2023. Took me three days to get through this video, but I’m glad I did.
One of the things that you guys miss in all the tool organization is covering everything to reduce dust, spider webs, and other insects and vermin. Probably too late to post this here, but what the hay. :)
I’m not sure that dehumidifier would help in my garage shop. It’s regularly over 100 degrees here in summer and well over 60% humidity. 100% is not unusual. Our garage door is not insulated. We can’t build basements here. The water table is 6” down. But absolutely NOT storing lumber on the floor. Our garage floor regularly gets soaked in high humidity. A climate-controlled shed is in my dreams. And I ALWAYS acclimate my lumber before use, sometimes inside my house if I’m making indoor furniture. In that case, I do a lot of work in my kitchen which has tile. Easy to clean.

99% of woodworking TH-cam videos are people who think because they know how to do something, that everyone does, so they move way too fast and skip alot of things or they're just showing off their festools, table saws and dunking on beginners.
Who needs all their fingers? I just. Sure those push sticks are great but we all aren't going to buy them. Just don't put it in your table saw. And don't saw and drink
How can you in good conscience keep titling videos as: 99% of woodworkers don’t know… Are you polling all woodworkers on that subject; I think not. Please stop making claims that are just hyperbole just to get clicks.
You’re not wrong. It’s a clickbait title. When he says, “99% of beginners” I’m assuming he means folks on day one of their woodworking career-because the first place they go when they want to learn about woodworking is TH-cam.
Weird I thought I was looking at Woodworking contents, not to religious content. Where can I get content on wood without religious or political message ?

You can't control a small strip very well (grrripper not withstanding and I love mine) against the fence with the lever of the large piece outboard. I shudder when I see YT videos of peeps cutting strips against the fence for repeated cuts. *sigh* use a stop block on the other side outside the blade as a reference before the blade. Much safer and arguably more accurate. Best table saw safety tip I've ever been given: PAUSE before you cut and THINK TWICE about what's going on and what might happen WITH EVERY cut. Accidents happen mostly when you think "it's just one quick cut...".
im guilty of no push stick lol however also im very cautious when i do and have also done it for years with no accidents
Hey any thoughts on Festool dust collectors?
If you have a work bench with a table behind the table saw and of you can find a old treadmill use it for a outfeed table
if you have a 3D printer you can print drawer organizers too!
Over here in Australia the Dewalt batteries are all sold as 18v rather than the 20v in the USA
The word is acclimatise, but you are catching up. Best wishes from England.
Agreed! It was annoying me too!
While they have different spellings, acclimate, acclimatise, and acclimatize mean the same thing. These three words are most commonly used as a verb meaning “to become accustomed to a new climate or to new conditions.” The main difference between these three words is their origin and country of usage.
God Bless! 🙏
Tourniquet is the best advice! CAT is the only brand. Coming from an old paramedic
What a fun surprise! I know that Colleyville, TX Woodcraft location very well. I’ve also taken classes with Steve Julian.
I meet you at VidSummit in 2023. Took me three days to get through this video, but I’m glad I did.
4 hours!
Sorry boss I'm sick can't make it into work today
🤣
If wood could talk, it would definitely say, 'Stop cutting me before I become furniture!'
4.5 hours?!?!! I don’t think so!
you dont have to watch all of it
If you are having low back pain, it's your high heel boots. Try shoes or sneakers with low heel. Trust me.
One of the things that you guys miss in all the tool organization is covering everything to reduce dust, spider webs, and other insects and vermin. Probably too late to post this here, but what the hay. :)
This is like a beginner woodworking course on Udemy but better, and cheaper!
Wow, thanks!
I just need a tape that has marks every 6" - I can figure out the rest by eye. ;)
Keep a pen with that tourniquet so you can write down the time , on the tourniquet, you put it on. There are time factors for the doctor.

All he did was make a block of wood, but oh man is it beautiful.
😅😅😅als erstes kauft euch mal einen 2m Zollstock in cm und ein metrisches Maßband. Dann wird das Leben schon einfacher!!👍👍🇩🇪

Easy to clean.

felt my eyes burn there for a second when I saw you with your face shaven.
99% of woodworking TH-cam videos are people who think because they know how to do something, that everyone does, so they move way too fast and skip alot of things or they're just showing off their festools, table saws and dunking on beginners.
Vinyl siding inside your garage? 😂
More than likely because of expansion off of the house for shop space.
Who needs all their fingers? I just. Sure those push sticks are great but we all aren't going to buy them. Just don't put it in your table saw. And don't saw and drink
4 hours(((
Damn you talk to damn much sir !!!
How can you in good conscience keep titling videos as: 99% of woodworkers don’t know… Are you polling all woodworkers on that subject; I think not. Please stop making claims that are just hyperbole just to get clicks.
Man shutup
Yadadada hyperbole I’m smart 🤓 👆
You’re not wrong. It’s a clickbait title. When he says, “99% of beginners” I’m assuming he means folks on day one of their woodworking career-because the first place they go when they want to learn about woodworking is TH-cam.
Re-read that headline, then re-read what you thought it said. Then maybe think of mixing in a de-cafe once in a while😂.
Ace reply, partner 😂@@erikhomer9181
Weird I thought I was looking at Woodworking contents, not to religious content. Where can I get content on wood without religious or political message ?
Jesus loves you
Are you referring to his shirts?
Jesus was a maker.
God is good all the time
So giant corporations can make political and values-based statements in their stores and an individual TH-camr can’t wear a t-shirt?
731 Woodworks, You're amazing! Let's be friends and hang out!
