I don't think kids realise that parents are scared of things too, the same things even at times. But kids rely on parents to protect them. So it's really up to the parent on how brave they want to come off as 😂 I work at a school and had to move some bugs from the slide because a little girl was terrified of them. I had to overcome my insect phobia for that 😅 she genuinely didn't think I was scared of it, just because I'm an adult. There's too many adults who've created this idea that they're better, braver and wiser, even though many actually aren't. But it gives kids a flawed opinion of what it really means to be an adult.
But you are better and wiser, you kept calm realised that something needed to be done, confronted your fears and solved the issue, that's textbook being an adult. Congratulations on properly adulting.

Ah, the life of a perpetually paranoid teen who is terrified of monsters. I named them because it helps me solidify them, which lets me make rules. Moe’s brother doesn’t want to be seen, so he always hides in the mirror just in case I look up too soon. Before I named them, it was just a constant fear without restrictions.
