    ... Thanks for the review!! ...
    I have been searching boots for weeks for Dual Sport and ADV.
    The Gaenre Fastback and SIDI Adventure 2 Gore-Tex were on the short list.
    I ended up deciding on the Alpine Star Tech 7 Enduro Drystar.
    They are expensive but I typically try and, "buy one, cry once."
    From what I researched:
    - It would be the driest of them all. Once I know the fit is correct, I am going to stand in a local stream and test them.
    - Offered the most protection.
    - 4 buckles that didn't have issues in the testimonials I watched.
    - Top is small enough for over the boot pants.
    - One year waterproof warranty.
    - Weight at 3.9lbs.
    - Looks/styling.
    I hope they are not too hot for summer but if they are, I'll use moisture wicking socks, etc.
    Thanks again,
    . Jeff .

    This is the boot you will end up at if you are looking for actual ankle protection for a touring boot. There is really is no other for touring that is both waterproof and offers real protection if you spend a lot time in traffic or on the highways. Neither touring nor any other adventure boot have any real level of protection in them other than slide protection which is fine if you are lucky enough not to get hit by a car or to have your bike not sliding on your leg at 80 mph. If you are not so lucky, then you are probably going to lose a foot or a leg for your efforts. This is literally the only boot I was able to find as I started moving my way up the ladder from Forma ADV Tourers when I actually validated any real protection in the boots. And that was validating only CE 2-2-2-2 WR boots. This shocked me actually that such a huge space existed in the market with only a single boot filling so many spaces.

      Well said....although the new Gaerne SG-22 Enduro GTX is also in that space.

      @@AtomicMoto Oh, you are absolutely correct, the Gaerne G Dakar were also very strong contenders (though less protected). They didn't make my personal list due to Gaerne having a reputation for very narrow footbeds.

    Great review as always, Brian.
    So you consider these even more protective than the Forma Terra Evo?

    • @AtomicMoto
      @AtomicMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Basically, yes. Although, to avoid confusion it needs to be said that the Tech 7 Enduro Drystar is stiffer in the forefoot than the Terra Evo. T7 Enduro Drystar has similar stiffness to Terra Evo, regular T7 Enduro is actually SOFTER.

    Great review, is the Drystar waterproof liner removeable if running in hot/dry conditions? Seems like it would cause a bit of heat retention in those conditions?

      You are correct, a waterproof boot definitely breathes less than a non-WP boot. However, the waterproof liners, including the one in this model, arte not removable.

    These or Sidi crossfire 3?, I am in the UK so clearly, we have some wet weather :D and I'm new to the sport would love an opinion please or does it make sense to have 2 sets of boots some for summer and some for wetter times?

    • @AtomicMoto
      @AtomicMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both! It makes sense to have two pairs because waterproof boots can be unbearably hot in the summer.

    Do you know when these will be back in stock?

      The next two shipments are arriving early April, with another arriving early June. We try to avoid salemanship, but frankly it seems if people do not backorder them well ahead of time, they will not be available able to buy spontaneously.

    As of 2023, there is a strong competitor to these boots - Leatt 4.5 HydraDri boots. Unfortunately, the 4.5 HydraDri are MX boots, not Enduro boots, which does not make a lot of sense, in my opinion.
