The remix 'dilemma' seems like a similar situation to film scoring--yes, you want it to be a good piece of 'absolute music', but it's job is to serve the film so if it's done right, in a sense you're not supposed to notice it at all. Sounds like a fine line to tap dance--but Giles has clearly got it covered. :)
And did no one have any discussion that maybe they shouldn't use A.I. to mess with past recordings, or are we just going to pretend that it is not a major ethical issue they are skating around.
This conversation is just fascinating. Thanks to both of you.
What a brilliant podcast.. two people sharing fascinating stories with no egos getting in the way
Fabulous podcast interview with Giles Martin by Rick Rubin . Giles is a genius as well as Rick ❤❤
So so good! Would love love love to hear the inverse interview Giles hinted at toward the end.
I could listen to these guys all day long!
"Everybody wanted George Martin/ nobody wanted his son." Not everyone, Giles! We want you! :)
Excellent, entertaining, informative and touching in many ways. Thank you to all involved
Did anyone notice he empathized so much with the interviewee that he actually had a British accent in 43:00 saying 'our pleasure'
Excellent conversation 😉
Terrific!
Rick is a deep music thinker but a fan of great music ❤

Great stuff
Giles is confident and you had better be in this music biz❤
I loved that 'Data from Star Trek TNG' laugh of Rick's when, in so many words, Giles said 'a lot of famous musicians are dumbasses'
John Frusciante podcast again soon too pls ✨🤟
Frusciante's good and all, but this is awesome! Wherelse would you get such an insight on George Martin???
What’s that, “apple voyage”?
I think he said ABBA Voyage.
Thank you! Happy birthday Rick

Indeed, since some of the audio frequencies from various instruments overlap, there must be some synthesis of new audio. As far as I'm aware
