Fortinet firewall admin here. I'm about 4 years in so I feel relatively new. You're doing great! I wish I had your courage and create content, like you. I enjoy your videos and your growth. You're doing the community a service. Keep it up.
Thank you Lise! I love listening to you share information with us. You are down to earth and try to keep it real and make it plain. You will make a great Senior Engineer AND teacher someday because you are willing to learn and you share your knowledge! Rock on Sister!
Hey what's up Lise! Great to see ya! You did a great job teaching us! I appreciate you schooling us on updating and maintaining certificates on the firewalls you work with. Great Job! Now I know where to go if I ever have to do the same. Now all you have to do is write some automation scripts to push out these updates next time 😊 You can teach us that in the next episode of Firewall Engineer chronicles Well you have a great day! God bless, and Peace & Blessings to you and your family! One
Love your videos! I just started learning about SSL/TLS certificates because a customer was saying the firewall certificate was blocking the traffic. Just when I thought I had some stuff down, I look through another window, and there's a whole other world of stuff there. lol
Absolutely, there is! Between programming, automation, and security, it can be overwhelming. But as I go up the layers of the OSI model, I keep telling myself: one step at a time... but keep taking steps.@@certifiedcurls
I'm waiting for the main AI computer to take over to be able to program these machines themselves and install their own certifications. Scary thought as companies are looking for robust and cheaper ways to streamline things. Pretty soon they'll be able to tell the computer what to do as everything pretty much probably will be automated with this new artificial intelligence. Anyways, before I go rambling on, excellent videos with great content. :]
You sound very overwhelmed. IT can become very overwhelming. F5 LTM/GTM !!!! Load balancers are whole different topic on there own. So many vendors of firewalls and loadbalancers. Take your time. Baby steps. Without Certs in the firewall no HTTPS.
I love your videos! it’s cool to see another young woman who is a network admin talk about what the job is like 😊

Thank you! You should really think about starting. Maybe do faceless at first to help build up

I'm Fortinet (NSE4) as well, and get it. And yes you can teach, it just isn't the way you think they want, but it all helps.
All i can hope for lol
Certificate and License Key Files for network equipment are the bane of my existence.

I'd love to get a chance to compare Panorama with Meraki some day, thanks for this peek into some new things!
Do you have a home lab? If so could you make a video showing it off?

Do you try to lab Palos at home at all?
I have one VM but it cost money so I just use the lab ones with my job
Good call on that, I use Opnsense but would like to find an enterprise solution to setup at home if possible.
Stop being so hard on yourself . Just do your thing, who cares how it turns out . People don’t create masterpieces with one try.
how many years/experience do you have in IT now?
About to be 11
@@certifiedcurls cant wait to have that much under my belt as well I'm in year 1 rn lol
