And she was a lot less fiery in 3, so Claude absolutely satisfied that fire in her.
I think Catalina learning about CJ's success made her jealous. Cj by the end becomes Madd Doggs manager An owner of multiple property across America Owns two car dealerships. Co-owner of a casino Successfully robbed a rival Casino's money Etc. Ceasar probably told Catalina about that success too. That's why she turned out that way. CJ is also the reason Salvador becomes paranoid.
