I enjoy having the triangular grip, not because I need training in my grip, but because I use a triangular grip anyway so the pen stays comfortable in my hand. Also love my Kaweco Sports! I have small lady hands so they fit great for everyday writing at work or longer journalling. I keep seeing the Mont Blanc 146 and 149 because they're grail pens for other fountain pen users, but I feel like they would be too large for me. Currently looking into making my second vintage fountain pen purchase and have settled on the Pilot Elite with a medium nib since Japanese nibs are sized differently. I like some feedback but feel like the F and EF nibs will feedback too much for my liking. Very good video for new users! 😊
The 149 is huge for sure! Montblanc have the Heritage Rouge which I always wanted but worried it would be too small so take a look. I also thought of the Pilot Elite after your comment so I laughed to read you mention it further down. I want one too, looks great.
I'm with you on the Jinhao pens, to be honest. I'll get one for myself if I like it, but I know what I'm getting into, and what the quality control is like. I wouldn't get one for someone as their starter pen. I want someone's first few pens to be absolutely hassle free and to work 100% of the time.
Glad to hear, I often get people who love defending Jinhao pens. It's okay if you are experienced and don't mind messing with the nib but they could put off a new fountain pen fan
@@SorrowisKnowledge Exactly. It's not like they'll know how to fix it. I won't even rec ones I know to leak. I want this to be easy and pleasant. If they decide later that they'd like to tinker, that's their business.
Super helpful, thank you! I don’t own one yet…but I will soon 🖋
New audio is nice. Crisp.

Sorry, what's the name of the blank paper you use?
I use Tomoe River 52gsm paper for nearly all my writing samples
@@SorrowisKnowledge many thanks :)
