Indeed, most Thai people/students have a mindset that they must show respect to teachers.
I think this could be another advantage for those who want to become teachers in Thailand.

Yes, I'm really glad if most of the Thai students have a better english.
Because at our generation people do not really care much about english language and we just thought that it was Sabye-Sabye but that's made countless of the foreigners who never came here to Thailand believed that here people just living in a small hut by a nature and used elephants as a transportation. Its because people over there in the west saw us just like that from the movies. But the most important thing is Thai people They just do not know any english and they just used smile as a key even nowadays people already have an internet but the Thai they still only social with only the Thai and just 5% of them Thai known English so when foreigners had some questions about the country or put the wrong data on internet there are almost noone care to go to fix or answer those questions. And that's why.

@@ChrisTeacher-mt9ir there are a lot of international schools here in Thailand my friend because there are countless of foreigners that already moved here to live in Thailand only the Japanese populations alone are already about 200,000+ and also those Korean people that came to lived here for decades and also countless foreigners from the west that already moved to live here too so those kids are all fluent and many of them english is their first language and some of them Thai kids from those international school that I know they couldn't even really read Thai it's because they used english at their school but that's not the case because we're talking about the Thai school my friend, the normal Thai school do not have a good English teacher and it's because 90% of them Thai people do not have to use another language to live in Thailand a lot of them just learn for fun not because of business and that's why many Thai still couldn't use english well my friend.

As I'm Bangkokian, I would say that ,In terms of transportation in Bangkok (MRT BTS Metro line), it is getting more and more convenient because there gonna be some new lines and new expansion of the old lines to cover more area in BKK. If you come to Bangkok like 10-15 years ago I think would be more difficult to travel than now. You have to call taxi or tuktuk which is more expensive (if you are foreigner they may charge you more than usual price) or take some buses that you would be very confused if you are not local.

Wish I could quit my IT career and study Accounting but have no money to study again.
But I have bought Thai-English language books during my trips in Thailand in 2017, 2018, 2023 so might be a good idea to teach English in Thailand rather having a stressful unemployed poverty life in Fiji in IT.

Just a note on the cost. Street food is cheap but not always of the highest quality especially if you eat it every day, so living in Thailand on 10k US is tough if you take this aspect into consideration. I would say 12k to 18k a year US is more reasonable as people might have a health problem or want to take a vacation or 2.

That's a fair point. It all depends on how well someone can budget. I'm really good at being a minimalist, but everyone is different. Regardless, it’s still much cheaper than Western countries and ideal for pensioners, people who can earn a Western salary online, or those who have some money saved.

I hear stories like this often from Thais. From what I’ve seen, the education system here needs changes to improve English learning. Relying on traditional methods like grammar teaching and repeating words often leads to average or worse results. To truly learn a language, students need to talk with people who speak it. Shy students, who worry too much about grammar and pronunciation, should try to speak more and see mistakes as part of the learning process. I learned Spanish by talking with native speakers, making mistakes, and learning from them. Thai learners need to start communicating more to improve their English.
