I watched several videos on this sprayer and yours Sir, is by far the easiest to follow.... Thanks for not wasting my time a d telling me how you and your wife like to paint and the rest of the 30 minute garbage getting to the meat of the topic.....Great job Thank you
Scott Hunter well said. Such an easy to follow video and I have now purchased the same sprayer with a 10 inch extension. From now on painting should take 1/2 the time ... or less.
@@doityourselferhomeandgarde9732 just wish you were more specific like what paint you were using for outdoors and stuff since you can't use oil based in these sprayers supposedly
Dude! you saved me a lot of frustration and a run to the hardware store - I would have never thought to bring a 11/16" wrench! Thank you for the thorough walk through!
Very good demo. Be sure to check Lowe’s for a Graco PRESSURE ROLLER accessory that is attached with supplied elbow where the gun spray tip would be. It comes with a short extension tube. A 5 hole roller frame emits paint as gun is triggered and feeds a porous Graco 9 inch roller. I purchased two extension poles and was able continuously paint second story walls from the ground. Very fast applying paint thick and smooth, no over spray, no dipping roller into paint bucket.
Perfect Demo. You are truly professional in demonstrating how to use a device. Perhaps, you need to write some operating procedures for companies. Thank you.
By far the best tutorial I have seen on this painter! Fab Tabula‘s work man! Attention to detail everything looks amazing. You should get a commission off of my purchase.

@@doityourselferhomeandgarde9732 just bought one in Monterrey México..is it good for big jobs? What about enamel paints?? Thank you kind regards from Monterrey México
I believe the liquid has many more properties than soap does. It states in the documentation that it helps to keep your system from freezing. When I bought the sprayer, even before I read the documentation, I also purchased a secondary bottle. This is only my opinion, not referenced anywhere else, there is a reason for manufacturers to produce maintenance lubricants. Like my automobile and many other tools, I do not short change what is recommended. I used only premium oils in my equipment, and I do the best that I can to lubricate and maintain them, as I understand that experts and engineers have done their jobs to make the product's lifespan improved. Once again, this is only my opinion.
Very Nice Video. I need to prime and paint my basement which is ready after drywalling and has concrete floors. One question I did have for you is, are there restrictions of what kind of primer or paint can be used with this sprayer? I didn't see a viscosity cup, so are there any instructions on paint thinning that we need to follow or can it handle a large range of viscosity?
I did not use a viscosity cup to check its thickness. Before I purchased the paint, I made sure it said was sprayable. On the paint bucket, it clearly stated it should be sprayed at 2000 psi and did not need to be thinned. On the sprayer unit for pressure adjustment, there is no numbering to indicate pressure. Knowing that its greatest pressure is rated at 3000 psi, I rotated the pressure adjuster (knob) to two-thirds, which is equivalent to 2000 psi. Before I started spraying my home, I did a test spray on a piece of cardboard (I show this on the video, just before I start actually spraying my home). Hope this helps. And best wishes with your project.
@@doityourselferhomeandgarde9732 Thank you so much for the quick response. Ive only painted with rollers and that too just once, so I was not aware of the psi mention in the paint bucket. That is vital info, thanks so much for sharing.
I have to first spray primer. If i use a water based primer, will it work directly with a 515 tip, even if the pressure range recommended falls within the X5’s range? Ive heard that water based primers can be thick.

Simple question how do you reduce overspray, paint in air, airborne paint, for more precision painting with this unit? Chinese unit didnt do this and my machine from 30 years ago. made sure area is warm, paint is warm . not just the water reduced pressure to lowest. So much paint is wasted with this unit.
Do not spray when there is wind, even a slight breeze. Try to keep the spray nozzle as close as possible without out runs. If concerned about runs, keep a half-inch smooth brush in your back pocket for easy correction. My personal experience is that the trigger and adjusted pressure work quite well. Even though I did keep a smooth brush in my back pocket, I never used it. Good sprayer for a do it yourselfer.
@@doityourselferhomeandgarde9732 thank you. even indoors same problem. i went a head and got a chinese spray gun/kit for $40 and it worked 100 times better then this unit.
This is a good video, but I just bought one and the directions say to clean the filter in the gun handle every time you flush the system as well. Good presentation though.
Clean the system with water from a pressurized hose and it will clear the filter, just as would do it when taking out the microscreen that is in the sprayer. The cleanout shown works. Your comment is understood if my technique of cleanout is not followed.
Enjoyed your video. Really liked your 4 way split screen of painting. Did you find it a problem moving the unit all time unlike x7? Thinking of x7 or x5 to purchase
It was not a problem moving it; the twenty-five-foot hose allowed me to move the ladder along, hang the sprayer on it, and then pick up the 5 gallon bucket in one hand and the airless compressor in the other for reposition and continuation.
I have not sprayed interior cabinets. But I would imagine it would do a consistent job. However, I know the sprayer has many different tips. I would imagine a tip that sprays in a finer mist or atomized fashion would be extremely useful. I would recommend doing a search on what spray tips they offer for cabinetry. I think it might be worth investigating.
Yes. I applied 2 coats. In one area of my small home, where the stucco is very exposed to the sun, about four hundred square feet, I went back to and sprayed it again after finishings each coat. I did it because I know how much degradation it receives from the sun. So I did two coats on my entire home, with two coats extra where I knew weather came into play. I did not have to back roll the paint. I put a clean paint brush in my back pocket for runs but did not use it--thought that was awesome.
Would someone recommend this for residential complex? I mean color changing entire two to three bedroom floor plans several times a month every month year round? I'm coming from the graco 390 model and just learned about these magnum models. Is the magnum essentially the successor to the old 390 models?
Can water or paint prime. In case of video, it was paint primed. Used two 5-gallon buckets first day of painting. When getting to the bottom of first bucket, placed suction hose into second bucket. Sprayed for 10 minutes. Then poured leftover paint from first bucket into the second one. Have had an excellent experience with this sprayer on my small home and other uses by the way. It is still working fine. Tip: Replace sprayer tip after about 15 gallons.
How long can you leave it sitting idle if you've to change location or take a short break? That is, does it clog up quick or dry up if you stop using it for say 15 minutes or so? thx
I did take short breaks. I either moved the 5-gallon bucket of water-based paint into the shade when possible or used a white-faced piece of cardboard to deflect the sunshine away from the bucket.
It is a definite labor and time saver. After prepping and masking, to think of hand painting an entire house is daunting at best. I have an open soffits, and to think of doing it with a brush would make me not want to do it myself. I can't begin to think of the labor and time it saved me. The last big plus is that I did not need to thin the paint. Good luck with your project.
Yes, dish soap. I used the sprayer the next day and finished my home. After I finished on the second day and knew I was not going to use it for at least two weeks, I ran the blue liquid through it to protect the inner workings of the compressor. By the way, I really like this sprayer.
