You're correct and I agree with your views. However, I don't believe things will change at ANY TIME in the future. They are ONLY about making MONEY and absolutely NOTHING else. I share your hurt but it will NEVER change. It is a great game but they are too greedy I'm afraid. The game is lost and so are we as gamers. This is a fabulous concept of a game which has been created by clever people but delivered to customers in an ameteur way. They do not have any idea on how to use their gaming power. The change he's proposing is; "You know those cosmetic items? Like Cliffans stuff? Fullsend that stuff. But dinosaurs, standalone, Thats where the line is drawn. -- A map? cool 🤩 A skin for a dino? Cool 🤩 A super niche/overpowered dino on a specific shite map? Cool 🤩 Heck, we got paid mods o- o. HeLlO bEtHeSdA! (at least they're supporting the creator?) Heck, even if they release a dino early, then say "If you buy it now you'll get a map for it when we release it." can even do that, then make it an exclusive to it, maybe hold it from Official servers temporarily. Make it usable by people in the tribe, but the person who didnt buy it can't tame it and it won't be hostile to 'em. Maybe thats even acceptable.
I LOVED this game, The issue for me is before this game came out the devs stated that we would NOT have to pay for ANY further DLC if we bought this crap over ASE, the paywalls isn't what made me quit but the game itself, you said it perfectly "this should be functioning as intended" it was just to buggy and to broken of a game still to commit to, downloading a 110 gig update every week is insane and pve and pvp are both virtually ruined, and with the teacher official/T tribe issues.. It seems to me that snail games has taken wildcard down a dark path they aren't willing to come out of, or even back from at this point, all these things do pile up and have made me quit this game forever under this new lower standard of care. I reallyt hope this game can be fixed, someday.....
Yeah and that's usually what I do. However when I see things like this I need to speak up. We as players shouldn't be tolerating pay wall things like this, and if the community allows this to go on without saying anything the problem will only get worse. If it gets bad enough it has a high chance of outright killing the game.
Kinda guessing you never played ASE. For a good while a few official maps and dinos where behind pay walls and that only changed when it got released to Xbox game pass and PS Plus. Even then people that owned the game but not the battlepasses had to uninstall their owned copy and reinstall it as gamepass/ps plus or they couldn't go to battlepass maps. Except for maybe Crystal Isle not one map worked properly on release on ASE. Genesis 2 never worked properly. Lost crashed all over the shop and Fjordor was an utter shit show. As for the mods in ASE some, like with ASA, worked fine but the more complicated they were the more problems they had. Automate for instance was awful on ASE and is even worse on ASA. Mods that overwrite stuff in the base game will always have problems and so on and so on. Sorry mate but its just how the game industry is. Feel free to boycott but you will be the only one missing out.
I played ASE a good bit and as stated I don't have issue paying for a map that comes with dinos and such. It is stand alone purchases independent of the map that I take issue with and players being able to purchase power. As stated in the vid if it's on the map it should be tameable or able to be acquired without external purchase period. You should never as a player be able to purchase power only progression. I really appreciate you putting your point of view in chat and hope you join our growing community.
I agree a hundred percent where you are coming from. I am one of those people that refuses to pay for any pay to play dinos. It annoys me so much when I am playing on a map and see the dinos that I cannot tame. But that’s OK. I did buy Bob because it is for several maps so I felt like it was worth it to have the cosmetics. I hope they do more of this and get rid of the pay to play dinos. I also have the same issue with mods that get deleted every update any delete everything that is connected to them. It’s very annoying. I use a cryo storage mod because there is no way to turn off the settings that they implemented and I play single. But I make sure that I put all my dinos in regular cryos before I log off. They have so much they need to fix and it really does make me sad because I really love ark.
Wildcard definitely messing up. I’ve got this idea that they could be able to buy back from snail games but also don’t think that can happen. The franchise is screwed regardless if we stay or go.
If we boycott now there is a chance it can be undone because loss of revenue will force their hand to make a decision to change the game. It's a long shot but one of the only chances we have of seeing real change.
One short notice on this is the howl dlc concept not a paywallsystem I mean if you play on a cluster with all dlcs without owning the dlc others can tame dinos you can't so how is there a difference?
Yes and I wish that they had. It's why I left it up to my community if I continue playing or not. If I do I will be very hard on the game moving forward until I see real and good changes made.
We all felt like this you are just a whole Ark 1.5 too late . As for the Pyromane.. it is actually a really good dino and with the big tribes at Tek it is a Dino that is on par with that . If we had more creatures/dinos like the Pyromane Tek would be less of a problem for the middle ranged level players . Heck if I can pay $5 and get a Dino that is actually really well developed, has multiple abilities that are thought out (not perfect) then I will pay $5 again for the next Dino. I want Quality not quantity.
I played Evolved as well just didn't have the channel back then. Also It isn't that I have an issue paying for dinos, it's that it's a purchase separate from the map purchase. All dino 'purchases' should be map bound only to prevent situations where some have it because they could afford to pay for it on the map and others couldn't. The reason why map bound purchases worked was that everyone had access to all the same stuff on the map.

I get where you're coming from, it's sad to see this kind nd of monetization in a game like ark. People have been literally asking to get paid skinds for years in order to support them. I would even be ok with paying for creatures if we had sorvers with and without them. But having them roam around and being unable to tame them unless I paid is way to scummy. I don't think I will stop playing, I am really enjoying the game, but I won't be spending any money on creatures or cosmetics at this point unless this gets thought over

you know you are not paying currently for maps? like scorch for example is free? and in ark survival evolved was about 30/40 €, but want boycotting(srry idk if is right word) for 5 € dlc with pyromane, or for what, you think these games are done free? you know only for "total dowload of the game" they must pay to Epic games an ammount of money? or you know people working in the project must be payed?

However that being said paywalled creatures and game altering content is unacceptable either you bind the purchase to a map or you include it with the map off the get go free of charge. I take no issue with them charging for a cosmetic but a player should never be able to buy power.
@@RPGSanctuary i admit i payed for pyromane and i breed it, i play in pve, official server, in pve pyromane abilities are foundable in others dinos, honesly i use only for caves, for hypotermia passive, and for shoulder abilitiy, the point is "you don't pay it if you dont need it "I worked in game dev and honesly no money to publisher = delete of project. I prefer not pay a map (about 40/50 euros) pay 5/10 for a dino if i want it is good, next- one maybe is not much op or don't have good abilities and i'm free to not have it. Maps for example: there is center or scorch i can go if i want, but i dont go because i dont like it. Now you are completly free try to boycotting but you do not only to publisher but you are boycotting players too. (Really sorry for my bad english i have done my best)
My point is this. No dinos AT ALL should be individual purchases nor should gameplay altering items. Anything like this should be a map bound purchase so that everyone has access to all the same things without additional expense. As stated in the video it starts with a $5 dino that is okay at best but this can easily become an issue where it is a $25 creature that is meta defining. This is an issue for live servers especially pvp and the issue should be viewed from all sides to ensure the community as a whole is treated fairly as consumers of the product.
@@RPGSanctuary i played in pvp too and meta changes anyway, for maps for dinos, dinos in pvp change for target to raid it, if you raid a rat hole you use carbo, you raid a underwater base you dont use normals dinos but waters dinos.. sure you dont use pyromane ;D. 25 $ sure they dont implement only 1 dinos this is sure because they are not dumbs, they have marketing workers. And sure people dont buy for 25$ only one Dino. Anyway we have differents point of view so i dont wanna go more with comments, so good luck for boycotting

Agreed and it only speaks to the issues I pointed out here. I want this game to do well. I am being critical of it because I love it as a game. I will not be playing ASA or ASE moving forward. Unless the poor business decisions made are walked back and things fixed.

ASA might have issues. but ASE had as many issues when it launched initially with only the island. Many people complained in ASE about creatures and certain Tek being locked in certain maps. I'm just glad that almost all the ASA maps will be included. Whining about the pyromane is just as silly. If you don't like it, don't get it.
For me, paying for a dino is the start of the end of this game. I buy the game i want the entire game. Now, for the moment i play ARK survival and enjoi it much more.

I don't personally play pvp but I am doing my best to approach the problem that this presents from each viewpoint but it doesn't surprise me at all that there are markets for such things.
Pvp people will buy any dlc if it makes pvp better. They spend thousands on tames structures blueprints on the black market. Nothing will stop the micro transactions for ark.
I understand that will always be a thing but it's a whole other thing for the company itself to put a pay wall on creatures or items that affect gameplay. Which was my entire point. At base everyone should have access to everything on the map with no external purchases needed. A player should never be able to purchase power, only progression. This statement remains true regardless of the game in question.
The reason why it's an issue in total is because all dino purchases should be map bound and never anything else. Due to it opening the door to a much more problematic system being allowed to take root.
Giving us a cosmetic item wouldn't be good for me i would instantly ask for a refund cause im not a cosmetic consumer they are meaningless to me! But i will totally quit if they add more creatures like this behind a pay to win wall as i cannot afford much at all!
The whole issue is that they either have to go back to map bound creatures, meaning you have to pay for the map to get everything on it which was fine. The only other alternative to making money as a company without letting players buy power is cosmetic packs. Which while I realize aren't for everyone would fix the issue of them needing money to continue making content and for server maintenance. I will be giving it another chance when aberration drops in September hopefully by then none of this is an issue anymore.
Too little too late, wildcard saw the suckers from a mile away and still suckered them into purchasing the game over and over 😂. Gamer unity isn't what it should be but I've spotted being invested in ark since they released unofficial clusters.

Playing ASA for the first time now that it is on game pass and my god... game is fucking terrible. 90% of the bugs on ASE release are in this game, I can't use a bed, movement feels clunky asf, camera feels weird asf compared ASE. I can't even move around and find a spot cuz official is usual official issues with spam and idiotic "bases" everywhere. I'm trying to find ASA PvP servers and there doesnt even seem to be official servers lol? Bruhh what a joke of a game man frfrfr
