Scorpion was trained to be an assassin, but not like a ninja-assassin. The ninja-like Sub-Zero could not keep up with the assassin Scorpion, thus ending the fight with a Fatality on Sub-Zero.
Even though sub did a lot of damage, scorpion blocked most. I like both, kinda wished that sub zero won in this one or a different one, still epic as hell though.
just want to mention this, just because someone gets more hits in during a fight does NOT mean they have done more damage, there are so many factors that go into how much damage is dealt in a real fight that it would take hours to explain every couple of moves.
