I actually really enjoy it. Played 3 times over the weekend. Ended up loving it. Definitely excited to play again. I feel like the ships don’t slide until end of turn.
This is a game I really, really want to like more than I do. I think it looks great aesthetically, and I really like the unique worker placement/hex mechanism. But I think it’s the market and ships that kill it for me...it just feels like I have very little control over what the market does, which makes the three main commodities feel basically interchangeable. And that makes my decisions feel less meaningful. I dunno...I’m gonna keep playing it because it just feels like there’s something in there that I’m missing, but I’m growing less enamored with it with every play.
I had the same thoughts. The game starts with a weird feeling of what am i doing but in the end you grasp a strategy. For me it has very limited replay value that's why i trade it. It was a good one time experience but i didn't want to play it again.
Yeah I got to play a prototype of this while it was on KS. My impression was that it was good but felt no need to explore it further. Good isn’t good enough

Thanks for a solid review of this Tom! I appreciate the details for why you don't like games when you don't like them!
Its interesting, my cards are fitting to the cut out holes in the player board.
Reminds me of an old game Johari (which I think you may have said similar in your review). It is a competent game with no real hook.
Spot on review. Thanks Tom!

What do you mean the board looks boring? Everyone knows that medieval towns were built in hexes, as are fields.
One of the most boring game that i ever played. Yeah same same…
