To put into perspective how much I like the Brass Sport, for years my three daily carry, take anywhere and everywhere pens were the Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age, the Scribo Feel, and the Pilot Custom 823. In addition, I rotate two or three even more expensive pens, including a Namiki Maki-e that cost a hundred and fifty times what I paid for the Brass Sport. But now the 823 is gone and the Brass Sport has replaced it. I use a pen a lot more than most, about five hours every morning, and another three every evening. Despite all the other pens I own, not just expensive ones, but many TWSBIs, a number of Conklins, etc., I use the Brass Sport for the morning session twice a week. Writing with it seems almost addictive.
Hi James. Thanks for stopping by. First off I am simply in awe of the pens you referenced. I can't even begin to visualize having them in my grail pen / wish list as I don't think I'll ever be able to afford such wonderful beauties. Kudos! I bought the Brass pen with short notes on the go in mind and I have tried longer writing sessions with them. I agree - if the weight of the pen works for you it can become addictive. Take care and have a great day!
I started my Kaweco journey (for pens, I’ve been using their 5.6mm pencils for some years now) around 6 months ago when Kaweco released their bronze collection. Bronze is my Achilles so I had to have it! Picked up the set (FP/BP/RB/MB) then decided a couple of their acrylic sport range (burgundy and navy) looked good- so picked the FP Sport and the matching 3.2 pencil. Finally got around to this brass Sport last week; just begun using it- lovely weight, I have the M nib. Perfectly balanced in my pocket with a clip (in chrome to match the nib and finial) is a must. Nice video btw
Thank you. Glad the pen is working out for you and Thank you for sharing about your Kaweco collection. I never thought about the pencil, but I just might now. Have a wonderful day
I’ve been eyeing this pen, and I hope to get one in the future! Thank you for sharing! I am close-ish to Vancouver so maybe I need to make a trip to that pen store….
I got myself a Brass Sport a week back, only I also got the mini convertor cuz I dont like using ink carts. In the week I have had it, the pen seems to work very well, the nib is very smooth right out of the box, and the ink flow is just right. I used Waterman Serenity Blue ink. Overall, a great purchase.
Hi there and thanks for stopping by. Glad you're enjoying yours. As silly as it is to say I am absolutely in love with mine. Warm wishes and have a lovely day.
@@StationeryAt4 Thank you for your kind reply. I got the Brass Sport with the fine nib. Also, I have used it to write letters to relatives back in India, the Brass Sport seems to do very well when I write in the Assamese script or when I write in the Hindi script. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, and now I am thinking of getting a second Brass Sport with the medium nib. Have a wonderful day, and as my friend says, write with joy!!!:):):)
Frank- this sounds kinda stupid, but today, I just went ahead and ordered a second Brass Sport with a medium nib, and the mini convertor from JetPens. !!!! :):):)
Frank- the new Kaweco Brass Sport with the medium nib has arrived. As in the case of the first one, the medium nib works well out of the box, isis a very smooth writer, and has great ink flow, not too wet nor too dry, just right. I am very happy with my 2 Brass Sport pens. Thanks for inspiring me!!!:):):)
I was lucky enough to get mine second hand for $50. I couldn't pass up that deal! So mine had the patina already. I love it a lot. I think it gives me the most warm fuzzies of all my pens, even though it probably has the smallest ink capacity.
Thank you for the kind words. Great question - I think it's personal preference. Personally for journaling I prefer a medium but it does depend on the ink, your writing style, the paper, and what you're journaling about in my opinion. For quick notes the EF as I have here is perfect. If I wanted to use the pen for long writing sessions I'd pick myself up a medium nib. Broad is a little too ineligible for my writing style. Take care and have wonderful day!
I hope it lives up to your expectations. I'm a few months in with mine and it is easily one of the best spur of the moment pen purchases I have ever made!
@@StationeryAt4 Hah! It appeared to be so freaking heavy. I tried to get used to it for a few days but just gave up. It is undoubtly beautiful but I couldnt use it properly, it was just not comfortable in writing. I returned it in store and will buy one of AL series instead.
Hey Warren. Thanks for stopping by. I know it looks like that in this video however the camera angle was very odd as I was balancing it off a mirror in a hotel room while trying to get the best light. I do have a steep angle of writing so it does make it feel a bit more pronounced! Warm wishes and have a great day!

Does the small size of the pen, even posted, cramp up your hand in longer writing sessions? That’s the one thing I’m worried about.
That is a beautiful pen! Wouldn't mind having one myself!
One of my favourites. I’ve had mine for about two years and the patina is beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by. Mine is just starting to patina - it's gorgeous!

I can't wait for the patina

Hey Wolverine3660. Glad to hear you're liking your second one. Maybe I'll have to pick up another one as well... Happy writing!

$50??? When and where! Steal of a deal. I agree with you on the feelings this pen brings up. Every time I look at my brass pen...
@@StationeryAt4 Through a Canadian fp nerd group. Someone was selling off their collection with some amazing deals.
After watching yours videos , I have ordered brass Kaweco in fine nib.
Glad the video helped and good choice. Take care and have a wonderful day!
Wow nice 👌. For journaling which is best in Kaweco brass fine or medium or broad ?

Did you get the extra fine or fine nib?

Lol - to each their own and too bad! I'm glad you switched for something that better suited you. How do you find the AL?

why do you write with the side of the nib out of interest?
