I have a genesis dual battery system in my jeep and learned you can't charge 2 AGM batteries with the standard Alternator the hard way. I ended up adding the REDARC 1225D dual battery charging system. Since I added that I haven't had any problems plus it has a connection for a solar panel as well. It looks like you put a lot of work in to your system, that's a lot of wires but neatly done. I don't have anything close to that in my rig with my system and it's keeping my batteries charged nicely plus I'm adding a solar panel on top of that so that when the engine is off it will still keep the batteries topped off. For anyone looking to add a charging system to there rig I suggest the REDARC 1225D system.

that cable management. wow. I'm wondering what you did for a living, this is not your normal DIY stuff lol. Great video!

I just stumbled across your video and I am impressed with your system. I was trying to see how you wired everything together but it's all bundled together so nicely that it's hard to follow the wires to see how everything is connected. Would you happen to have a wiring diagram available for your system that you are willing to share? Love your videos.

What flex panels are those? Where can I find them? Thanks for the info!

I was going over some old TH-cam videos and found yours, what I wanted to asked is with the two Optima's in the engine compartment, one is red and the other is yellow; which one is the Auxillary one?

From the us 25000 to where on the d250s did you connect it to provide ac charge OR supply?

What a system, wish I had the knowledge to make something like this.

It's quite complex and complicated, there's simpler and easier systems. They make DC to DC chargers with built in MPPT for your solar connectons. I'm not sure how much power his fridge pulls or how long they go off grid, but you could probably get away with only 2 batteries. I know people who run a fridge for several days off the Jeep battery, they don't have a second battery. The best way to design your system is to decide what you want to run ie fridge, blender, laptop, and figure out how much wattage you need and for how long and go from there.

I think you need a gell cell battery for in the cab yellow top is not gel

Awesome setup, thank you for the overview, I'm looking forward to part 2! Your cable routing is so clean and nicely done!
I might have missed it, but what do you use for your shore power charger for the 12v system? Or is the shore power only for the fridge? We have a decent electrical setup in our expedition trailer, DC->DC charger, solar, shore power, and a charge monitor, but in the jeep I only have one battery and a very basic solar charge controller so I can hook up a 100w panel when the vehicle is parked since we run a fridge in the back of the rig. I'm planning on finally doing some sort of dual battery install soon but still working on all the moving pieces i want to include as part of that. I'd like to replicate as much of our setup in the trailer, the main issue is that space is a premium in the jeep.

Brien yes we do have an AC charger a Ctek 25Amp, see 9:17 in this video. The AC plug by the fridge has two cables coming out of it. One to the fridge freezer the other to the AC charger.
You will see it in action just like the solar was in this video. Except its coming up from 80% depletion. There will be three episodes and maybe a fourth? You will also see the whole panel pulled out of the jeep feeling takes about five minutes or less.
The real important thing here is it's all about the voltages based on the type of battery you have!
