Honestly i started the game spending money and i lost 50/50 on him and i only got him on 50 pull after , what i did i went to a reroll to see if i could get him in first 20 pulls they give you and i got it haha , now i need to get his weapon . Side note , i ask google to refund me and got instant acepted lmao so no money lost haha

Everyone seems so hyper focused on the idea that Jiyan might eventually get powercreept that's most of what I hear about the character. Like yeah, depending on how Kuro approaches game balance with time it's pretty inevitable, but Wuwa is a gacha game it's not like Jiyan is the only character we'll ever get to play with. So yeah! Thank you for the guide because so many content creators just flat out skipped him for Yinlyn 😔
I just look at my experience in Genshin back when I was a Xiao main. I wasn't thinking "Should I really pull Xiao? He might get powercreept 3 years later" because by the time he got powercreept I already switched mains and I mainly play Wriothesley now
Being a long time PGR player, I can see a vast difference with Mihoyo and Kuro. Because I did played Genshin. Kuro always balances their characters, even their older first released S constructs. Hell I can still get decent amt of high damage from their low rated A constructs that were released since year 1. That's what I like about Kuro. They don't leave their old characters behind. Now Mihoyo dun give a rat's ass about their older characters. So they're practically useless compared to the new ones.
Dude, you dont know HOW KURO WORKS on releasing units, Ive been playing PGR since 2021 and I tell you, they DONT DO POWER CREEP, even the first 5 units that was released 3 years ago are stilk reigning at the META LIST, tbh, all units they released are all META, thats how KURO works, not Mihiyo... dont compare MIHIYO to KURO... KURO IS ABOVE TO EVERYTHING MIHOYO HAS.

People keep saying oh he will easily be powercrept which I cannot agree with. Hes a dps but he also has his pseudo grouping and a busted parrying tool, which cannot be beaten by just bumping the numbers up. Even if another dps that does a bit more damage rolls around, Jiyan’s ease of use alone will still carry him as a top contender. Now Yinlin imo is more prone to powercreep contrary to popular belief, less than normal dps of course but more prone than Jiyan, since her strength is on her off field damage and buffs, which are both just numbers that another unit may provide more of or same as but with some other utility. Lategame will depend more and more on parrying since they don’t require to waste time dodging (similar to PGR another Kuro game) and Jiyan is currently the best at that, while Calcharo may have even more dps than him post Yinlin banner, he will struggle to execute his optimal combos late game, which will have his dps take a considerable hit. Also this isn’t HSR lol, there is a ton of room in this game to make another unit good without making them just deal more damage. Now this isn’t to say Yinlin bad (shes fantastic) and Jiyan good, it is just that people seem to sleeping on him a bit just because of the worry that he will be useless 2 patches from now, which I don’t think is correct. (Sorry for the yapping, but hope my point came across clearly)
jiyan’s quest was surprisingly good and after using his trial character in illusive,,, i REALLY want to pull him. i have been saving for yinlin but now i am going to “build pity” for her. I think many others feel the same
I wanted to save everything because I had calcharo and was being stubborn did the illusive realms with him on trial and I had to pull ahah I only use him and inferno rider in the realms at lvl 50 ive managed to do all of it
I got him because husbands I ain’t gonna lie but then playing him and playing his quest made me fall in love with his gameplay and him even more. It’s insane how quickly I got obsessed with this.
frankly, just the fact that he's so cool is enough for me lmao. I mean, the dude looks amazing, has amazing looking attacks and when he uses his ultimate, he has a freaking jade dragon flying around him his attacks. Who cares if he gets powercreep, i doubt he will be massively powercrept.

Just used the support Jiyan they give you for the rogue-like game mode, holy crap was that an insane run. I know he had the buffs of course, but being able to keep his Liberation active the entire fight was a rush.
I missed this banner but I’ll be saving until he gets a rerun. Is this optimal? No probably not, but is this the coolest design and fighting style I’ve ever seen? Absolutely yes. Am I also a Xiao main? I’ll never tell.

I have been playing for 5 days with the male MC, even bought a monthly pass on the second day. I decided to make an alt account, just to test the female MC, and once I got to the wishing part ended up getting Jinyan with the 20 free pulls, and his weapon at 15 pulls. I think my alt is going to be my main now.
I will say that Jiyan's outro is really good when used with someone like Baizhi, whose heavy attack can be used by Holding the attack button. He gives his following party member bonus damage based off (at base 300%) of his attack for I believe two hits. So Jiyan does DPS > Outro into Baizhi > Baizhi does heavy attack, which procs Jiyan's wind spear attack twice, and then go back into normal rotation.
I'm using him with Calcharo because they both look amazing and i don't have the other dude mentioned here. So far so good, content is pretty easy in the beginning.
Glad to see a guide that gives justice to our general here. I have had it with people discouraging new players to pull for him bec of the Yinlin hype. When newbies ask in discord communities if they should pull for Jiyan, I would always explain his pros and cons but a lot of pro-players wannabe just downright say he is not worth it and shit without even explaining why and just shoving Yinlin up their faces bec the hype tells them to.
I would argue that you should start of with jiyan first to do good posture damage, around 60% posture left, then you buff him up with your other characters, and when its his turn again the boss will be staggered or will be staggered by his intro so you can maximize his liberation hitting with every hit
Really awesome guide, I'll keep it close while I'm leveling in WW. I got very lucky and got Jiyan within the 35-ish free pulls and I invested in getting his weapon and another copy of him. I'm so happy that I did. I love his playstyle and looks. I think at some point I want him at S6 (will take some re-releases).
Okayyy Yes seele got power crept but she still clears, especially with the new supports. so I feel like Jiyan will still be able to clear even later in the game. Especially because he addresses the core gameplay mechanic of parrying. And he's the best AoE like Venti was. Venti is still very useful too
im gonna save building my C1 Jiyan and focus on Calcharo for now since he has better echoes than my Jiyan. I'm definitely going to try and follow this video when I get to a point where I can build him properly
Love jiyan, the playstyle reminds me of a series i played as a kid called dynasty warriors But since i play on mobile and dont want it to unalive itself so ill probably skip, hopefully pull the thirst trap then get sephiroth from the 80 pulls
On one hand, being a 1.X DPS might be bad because they're prone to powercreep. On the other hand, I'll need 3 teams anyway. And he's hot/really fucking cool.
Hutao was released at 1.2 and she is still one of the best dps in Genshin. Jiyan is a very unique DPS bec he does not just provide dmg but also utility with his insane parrying ability and his grouping aoe attack that is so so useful in TOA for the stubborn mobs. He may be powercrept by another dps in terms of dmg but his other utility will make him relevant through the upcoming patches. Yinlin on the other hand will remain relevant but she will be very dependent on a new electro teammate since her role is to buff electro dmg and resonance liberation. I would even dare say that Verina will outlive Yinlin bec she is a universal buffer with her all type dmg deepen buff and can wield the full rejuvenating echo set, bell-borne echo, and can heal a ton.
@fuyukiryujin3723 Exactly, this is the life cycle of every DPS, the newer DPS who will powercreep him will be powercrept as well so I don’t really understand their reasoning behind holding off bec of powercreep. If it’s because they prefer Yinlin’s playstyle over Jiyan then that makes sense why they should skip Jiyan but skipping him because of powercreep is just non sense at this point since we are only starting the game and not much DPS are already built in our accounts. I would even understand it more if their account already have built DPS and they are just deciding whether to get a new one or not but that is clearly not the case.
@fuyukiryujin3723 Same can also be argued with Yinlin tho so she will grow as well but still both will be powercrept so it is pointless. The reason why I am not looking forward to Yinlin is because her team is restrictive to electro team and coincidentally the boss I hate the most in this game is electro resistant which is the tempest memphis that goes fking invisible. If I will use Yinlin only for her resonance liberation buff then that is just a bummer bec we already have Jianxin to do that plus she gives a chonky shield so I don’t see any point in getting Yinlin if I don’t plan on running an electro team.
Yeah, the idea of powercreep is funny because there's no pvp in this game. Even if another dps comes out who craps on Jiyan's damage and/or ease of use, it's not like Jiyan will suddenly be bad and unable to clear content. It's the same with Seele in HSR haha. This game is quite literally "enjoyment over meta."
I kinda want now for WuWa to rename it from "Resonance Liberation" to just simply "Resonance Release". Then we can refer to it as RR. But I guess RL is okay too? XD

the thing with Jiyan is even if he got powercrept damage wise, he will still be relevant as other than damage he offers more QoL features like his insane cc and multihits making parrying brain-dead
I'm so glad I rerolled my account after getting 2 Lingyangs. Cause that allowed me to get Jiyan in my first multi on his banner on my reroll and then get a dupe of him and Encore in the next 60 pulls. Now I'm guaranteed Yinlin or another dupe of Jiyan if I wanna keep summoning
After Watching your video, I was compelled to pull Jinyan instead of waiting for another banner. Hard pitied the 5 star, just to lose to the 50/50. Now my level 1 Encore will be rotting somewhere🤡
I'm struggling real hard on whether to get Jiyan before Yinlin. I'm sitting at pity right now. Still a chance to lose the 50/50 but still. I really like how Jiyan plays.
some critcism: For the echo build summary picture, I was confused what the numbers behind the "3" echo and "1" meant, so for BIG MONKEYS like me IMO would be better if they were just next to each other instead. It read as though you meant we could equip 3 "3-cost" echoes. great video

I just found out that if you pull for the 5* Static Mist pistols for Mortefi, R1 Outro increases the incoming Resonator's (Jiyen) Attack by an extra 10%! Adding that to everything in this video, and with me using my R2 Shorekeeper instead of Verina, it feels like Jiyen's power is over 100% stronger. In other words, he becomes a roided nuke monster! I've been shredding bosses with Shorekeepers Supernal Stellarealm like they're nothing.

10:58 (new player here) I don't understand how you get full energy on Mortefi & Jiyan after one rotation. There is nothing in their kit & suggested weapons to provide energy or ER. Even with Broadblade of Voyager I can't do it
I got 2 copies of him earlier, along with 2 4-stars. I just started playing today. I was also able to pull Jianxin also. Never been this lucky in a gacha game before.
Yes you need to plan his ult before you use it, its not genshin you need to use your brain, quickswap, animation cancel etc, just check on youtube for guides by rexlent or steparu on how to play jiyan
Got him in 14 pulls, he is fun and his CC with smaller mobs is pretty good too. Allows you to scoop up those stragglers and move them to the bigger enemy to deal damage to everything.

Really awesome guide, I'll keep it close while I'm leveling in WW. I got very lucky and got Jiyan within the 35-ish free pulls and I invested in getting his weapon and another copy of him. I'm so happy that I did. I love his playstyle and looks. I think at some point I want him at S6 (will take some re-releases).

Okayyy Yes seele got power crept but she still clears, especially with the new supports. so I feel like Jiyan will still be able to clear even later in the game. Especially because he addresses the core gameplay mechanic of parrying. And he's the best AoE like Venti was. Venti is still very useful too

im gonna save building my C1 Jiyan and focus on Calcharo for now since he has better echoes than my Jiyan. I'm definitely going to try and follow this video when I get to a point where I can build him properly

Love jiyan, the playstyle reminds me of a series i played as a kid called dynasty warriors
But since i play on mobile and dont want it to unalive itself so ill probably skip, hopefully pull the thirst trap then get sephiroth from the 80 pulls

On one hand, being a 1.X DPS might be bad because they're prone to powercreep.
On the other hand, I'll need 3 teams anyway. And he's hot/really fucking cool.
Hutao was released at 1.2 and she is still one of the best dps in Genshin. Jiyan is a very unique DPS bec he does not just provide dmg but also utility with his insane parrying ability and his grouping aoe attack that is so so useful in TOA for the stubborn mobs.
He may be powercrept by another dps in terms of dmg but his other utility will make him relevant through the upcoming patches.
Yinlin on the other hand will remain relevant but she will be very dependent on a new electro teammate since her role is to buff electro dmg and resonance liberation.
I would even dare say that Verina will outlive Yinlin bec she is a universal buffer with her all type dmg deepen buff and can wield the full rejuvenating echo set, bell-borne echo, and can heal a ton.
@fuyukiryujin3723 Exactly, this is the life cycle of every DPS, the newer DPS who will powercreep him will be powercrept as well so I don’t really understand their reasoning behind holding off bec of powercreep.
If it’s because they prefer Yinlin’s playstyle over Jiyan then that makes sense why they should skip Jiyan but skipping him because of powercreep is just non sense at this point since we are only starting the game and not much DPS are already built in our accounts.
I would even understand it more if their account already have built DPS and they are just deciding whether to get a new one or not but that is clearly not the case.
@fuyukiryujin3723 Same can also be argued with Yinlin tho so she will grow as well but still both will be powercrept so it is pointless.
The reason why I am not looking forward to Yinlin is because her team is restrictive to electro team and coincidentally the boss I hate the most in this game is electro resistant which is the tempest memphis that goes fking invisible.
If I will use Yinlin only for her resonance liberation buff then that is just a bummer bec we already have Jianxin to do that plus she gives a chonky shield so I don’t see any point in getting Yinlin if I don’t plan on running an electro team.
Yeah, the idea of powercreep is funny because there's no pvp in this game. Even if another dps comes out who craps on Jiyan's damage and/or ease of use, it's not like Jiyan will suddenly be bad and unable to clear content. It's the same with Seele in HSR haha. This game is quite literally "enjoyment over meta."
i was planning to get yinlin for seph- i mean calcharo, but i decided to fudge it all and pull for jiyan with my 70 wishes :D got him and few mortefis

Resonance Liberation adds more depth to their powers tho, rather than just ult, imho.

the thing with Jiyan is even if he got powercrept damage wise, he will still be relevant as other than damage he offers more QoL features like his insane cc and multihits making parrying brain-dead

I'm so glad I rerolled my account after getting 2 Lingyangs. Cause that allowed me to get Jiyan in my first multi on his banner on my reroll and then get a dupe of him and Encore in the next 60 pulls. Now I'm guaranteed Yinlin or another dupe of Jiyan if I wanna keep summoning
Finally managed to get Jiyan, now I just have to farm and build him. I'm so happy these vids exist.
After Watching your video, I was compelled to pull Jinyan instead of waiting for another banner. Hard pitied the 5 star, just to lose to the 50/50. Now my level 1 Encore will be rotting somewhere🤡

some critcism: For the echo build summary picture, I was confused what the numbers behind the "3" echo and "1" meant, so for BIG MONKEYS like me IMO would be better if they were just next to each other instead. It read as though you meant we could equip 3 "3-cost" echoes. great video

I just found out that if you pull for the 5* Static Mist pistols for Mortefi, R1 Outro increases the incoming Resonator's (Jiyen) Attack by an extra 10%! Adding that to everything in this video, and with me using my R2 Shorekeeper instead of Verina, it feels like Jiyen's power is over 100% stronger. In other words, he becomes a roided nuke monster! I've been shredding bosses with Shorekeepers Supernal Stellarealm like they're nothing.

10:58 (new player here) I don't understand how you get full energy on Mortefi & Jiyan after one rotation. There is nothing in their kit & suggested weapons to provide energy or ER. Even with Broadblade of Voyager I can't do it

Yes you need to plan his ult before you use it, its not genshin you need to use your brain, quickswap, animation cancel etc, just check on youtube for guides by rexlent or steparu on how to play jiyan
Got him in 14 pulls, he is fun and his CC with smaller mobs is pretty good too. Allows you to scoop up those stragglers and move them to the bigger enemy to deal damage to everything.
