@@louisianaball Well, usually the reason bands tune lower is because the vocalist is years, sometimes decades older than when they recorded the song, and their voice is just deeper.
Ever since i discovered bands like Toska and Dorje, whom mostly stick around Drop C or D Standard, all my guitars stay in that range and i refuse to go higher haha. There's just something about sitting in that range, not too low but not normal tuning either :3
This version of the song is in D standard. Meaning all the strings are tuned down a whole step. What you’re talking about, with only the E string dropped a whole step, is called drop D

You fucking genius
Axel lmao Mother Pink power Ranger forever friend frieds family Paraná
LMAO
XDDDD
this tuning gives it a more sinister sound.
Tends to happen when you tune down. 1 of the major reasons a lot of metal bands tune down (the other being that the singer’s voice is degrading)

Brings a tear to my eyes everytime.

That cover art looks so good like this! Love the colors. Also song sounds perfect.
I can finally *kind of* sing along
You could've always sung the original vocal notes an ocatve lower
@@demonguysayshi2666 Not the same
lol, being a gal it made it even more imposible for me!
Your voice is that low?
I mean, this song is pretty easy to sing for the most part.
Goddamn, this sounds depressing as hell. And the original was already depressing.
It sounds even more depressing.
@@FrankyGotTheBill thats what he said
Sounds even more sad
This is so sinister and depressing I love it
I just discovered this tuning is perfect for my voice.
Thanks man! Only version I could find where it is REALLY tuned to D and not D + 1/4 tone. Cheers
Real metal
The original is down a quarter step, right? I noticed whenever I try to follow along with tabs in standard tuning it sounds slightly sharp
@@tshred666 technically its up a quarter step
Anyone else too lazy to tune back to E standard?
Me I was playing guitar to this the other day because I couldn't be bothered tuning back to E
Chicken Wings literally same bro lmao
If you want the original E tone and are too lazy to re-tune, just play the song as if you were in F#. Problem solved.

Skinny top heavy bottoms. Fixed bridge. Problems
D tuning is the best. I always had my 4 string bass tuned with the E string down to D. I found it much easier to play that way.
Drop D

Doesn’t even make sense but okay
This is the most beautifully depressing thing my ears have ever heard.

Fade to Black covered by Type O Negative
Fade to darkness
Si ya de por si Fade to Black es depresiva, en D mayor esa canción es el fondo del abismo.
For some reason the bass is louder or is that just me?
Probably just sounds deeper due to the low tuning

Gonna blair this during the eclipse tomorrow!
If you found this comment, there is hope. Do better. be strong. You will pull through.
D Standard is my favorite tuning. It adds the perfect layer of darkness without being all down-tuned and sounding like a shitty core player
It's better than the original
Anyone kinda getting Halloween vibes?
