You really can't go wrong with Vessel. I have had the occasion to work with crews from Japan on a Honda supplier and for Kubota. Those guys had their tools shipped from Japan ahead of them vessel was the brand most prevalent in the tool crates.

I have the vessel , and after 40 years of regular use. Still going strong. The vessel has a bigger striking area and comes with 2 long impact drivers . That I use on starter motor solenoid screws and red motor timing gears.

I found a vintage one appears to be in excellent condition for $37. The vintage only adds to the coolness of the tool. The old metal case looks like it’s still in great condition.

I’ve got a K Tool impact driver. I don’t use it very often, but it works fine. Used it a couple weeks ago to change my rotors. It has a metal case with a few bits and extractors. This one does look real nice, and if I didn’t have one good enough (for me), I’d probably snag it.

I have been using that model impact for 30 years. It's been faultless , it's been used a lot with no mercy. I have replaced many driver bits, and it is in the original steel case. Buy one and you will never regret it 👍👍👍👍👍

The "corners" in a JIS bit/driver have a sharper + shape than a philips bit where the inner corners are rounded. It's easier to see this by comparing a bit/driver of each type
The +'s in the JIS fasteners also have sharper corners, so the rounded inner corners on the philips bits/drivers don't allow the bit to fully engage. However, the JIS bit will fully engage with a philips fastener as the sharp inner corners of the JIS bits/drivers results in a clearance to the rounded inner corners of the + on the philips fastener
This makes the JIS components slightly more expensive to produce as there are sharper corners in the mass produced fasteners, but IMHO they are a superior upgrade to the somewhat flawed philips design which cams-out too easily. The severe drawback is that philips drivers destroy JIS fasteners, as every budding mechanic finds out the hard way!

CP! I'd be interested to see your opinion on a kind of rare tool not too many people talk about, but the old craftsman wrench sockets. They are part numbers 42800 for SAE and 42801 for metric. They are pass through design sockets for the box end of your ratchet wrench. I bought a set and they are great for giving you that extra reach where the 0° offsets wont reach and a traditional socket and ratchet are too big!!!
