Don’t mind me and my peasant ears 🥴 when you said the sound was buttery, I thought, who describes sound like that, and then I remember I say that about some voice actors that sound like butter to my ears 🥴🤧 I’ll be honest, I had no interest in learning ukulele because if I had to learn an instrument I told myself either piano or violin. But now, I see you ukulele 👏🏼🌝
Yay!!! The ukulele is absolutely a great instrument to learn as your first. You can always start with it and then later move to violin as you had mentioned. Build your finger strength up. The violin is an incredibly hard instrument that takes some time to get sounding right. I’ve been able to get most 3rd graders doing something nice on a uke within a few lessons. It’s a beautiful instrument. The learning curve is much less which is nice too. And yes. Buttery. I know. Just another way of saying smooth. Haha. I’m glad you like the ukulele though.
I hope you did it SushiFairy! I had no interest in playing Uke either .. that is until I found Bernadette Teaches Music on TH-cam. She is amazing! Especially for absolute beginners. I started with her and am still playinig 3+ years on.
Yamaha also used this kind of effect system in their guitars, I didn't expecto to find them in an ukulele. Gorgeous and very nice sound uke for sure. I was considering the same model but with no Soundwave system. Have you ever tried any APC ukulele? Take care :)
How would you describe the neck ? Is it flattened? I'm considering this as well as the Diana and Sophia. Wondering which sounds best, I do need a flatter profile kind of neck if you know what I mean. I'm in Spain and can't just go somewhere to try one out

I guess it just depends on a few things. Your total level of interest and your comfort level budget. Flight has some great ukes for cheaper prices too. I know they have a baritone uke with the soundwave tech. I also know you can just purchase the soundwave tech and have someone (or yourself) install it on an already own uke.
In terms of playing experience and soundwave tech, I don't think the two necessarily need to go together. When I first began playing guitar years and years ago, I got some effect pedals (even though I was a beginner) and they were a lot of fun and just enhanced me at the level I was at. I think even doing simplified things with effects is really neat. Often times that's how effects are best used. I'd say don't hesitate for the effects if it's something you really want but feel your level of playing isn't ready for.
Again, I think you can enjoy the effects at any level of playing. The investment in a uke that already has them though is something more to consider. I think if your level of interest is high, then I'd go for it. Search around Flight's ukes. They may have some cheaper ukes with it too. I hope that helps some.

It’s for sure a flatter neck. Like that if a fender telecaster. It’s very easy to play on. I think you’ll love it.
