How to Rucksack with a Ring Sling

  • In todays video Cecilia shows us how carry our baby in a rucksack with a ring sling. Sometimes ring slings can bother one shoulder, so spreading babies weight over two shoulders in a rucksack can be more comfortable.
    At the time of this video recording baby Theo is almost 10 months old and weighs between 19-20 lbs.

    I have been searching forever for a sling carry method that puts baby on my back. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and my youngest is 15 months old. I'm SO excited to try this carry! Thank you so much for sharing 😊❤

    This is one of my favorite carriers! I think it's so much faster than a regular ring sling carry. I LOVE the ring tip for pinning the top rail in the beginning! I'll definitely be trying that next time.

    Oh wow! I didn’t know you could use a ring sling in this way. I’ll have to try it sometime. Super cute baby too!

    I wear my baby (he's now approaching 3 yo) on my back a lot, but I've never tried with a RS. Thank you for the video!

    I've never been able to get very comfortable in a ring sling but this is a cool way to use it! 👏

    I knew there had to be a way to do this! Video saved. Currently I'm looking for a way to carry 2 month old on both shoulders on my front, since I don't think his neck is ready for back-carry yet, but between his weight and my lack of shoulder strength, he hurts my back when carried on one shoulder, plus he likes to slump to the lower side of the sling.

    Love this! What length should it be if I want to also have a chest belt? I do use RS on my back with bigger kids but in a TSC back carry style, I'll have to try this!

    • @Rebecca.Robbins
      @Rebecca.Robbins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess you would need your chest width extra. So maybe 40-40 cm extra.

  • @ThatFigureSkaterZamboniGirl

    Awww, my kid is six now, but I may try this anyway. She loved to be carried. The bigger she got I found myself not so able to figure out back carries.

    How old is baby in this video? One regret is I didn’t get/use a ring sling early on and thought it was too late to use one now that baby is 10 months but this makes me rethink that! I might need to buy one!

    • @Rebecca.Robbins
      @Rebecca.Robbins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the time this video was recorded, Theo was almost 10 months old and weighed between 19 - 20 lbs. I try to always add babies age and weight in the video description, so you can usually check there if curious! ❤️

    I would really need a long Sling for this

    • @Rebecca.Robbins
      @Rebecca.Robbins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You definitely need one that is a little longer, it doesn't need to be super long though.

    Sad I like my RS short and don't think I would have enough length for my toddler giant

    • @Rebecca.Robbins
      @Rebecca.Robbins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya, you definitely need more length if you want to use it for a ruck!

    How long is the sling from the rings?

    • @Rebecca.Robbins
      @Rebecca.Robbins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like its about 1.9 meters from the rings. We don't usually measure ring slings that way since we sell or fabric by the meter, but I did double check on this sling for you!

    Can I do this with a 4month old?

    • @Rebecca.Robbins
      @Rebecca.Robbins  ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be done, but be sure to have a spotter there your first few times just in case you need a little help.

    Looks convenient but not comfortable with the rings at your underarm?

    • @Rebecca.Robbins
      @Rebecca.Robbins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure! Cecilia did mention at the start of the video that she didn't quite get the ring placement right and to take that into consideration when trying it yourself. It can be done better!
