I never played pre 1.0 so I can't say how it compares. But from my playthroughs so far the chests are always worth it, if it's from the area you're currently progressed to
Pre 1.0 was great. But post 1.0 is even better. The game in general idk about the chests. They didn’t exist until relatively recently. Maybe closer to a year ago they were introduced but maybe sooner than that idk. I started July 27th of 2022 so my timeline could be off
the bomb scarab mortar is bad for fighting and good mining tool for its base level, but max level even maze block didn't stand a chance, recommended if you are too lazy to do the maze for the 3 tomb to get the godsent set
"imagine getting this early on in your run" yes. I got it before i killed the third boss. I dont see how i can ever replace it. It is so useful all the time
I got one too and i swear its the only off hand i use. Teleporting across small gaps to kite enemies into one area then super fireball em is just too good
I just started playing last night and got the rift lens from a music door room right after killing the first boss got an ocarina from some ruins almost immediately upon leaving the starting zone and spent probably 30 mins letting the band geek in me play around with it 😂
The Wildwarden ring is OP early game, not because of it's expected use, but because it's the only way to get scarlet bars before taking down the wall. You can farm an infinite number of them before killing any bosses as long as you have a fishing rod and some acid or are willing to block off a safe chunk of the clay caverns. Luckily for game balance it's really, really slow to farm the chests so even if you can get early scarlet it's very unlikely to be enough to do anything useful.
Hold all the keys on your cursor, exit inventory, stand under the chests and face towards them, keep your cursor where the key slot would appear when you interact with the chest. Interact > left click > move to next chest > repeat
Spent hours looking for the last peice of the legendary sword opened 9 scarlett chests and got two of the items I was looking for. Definitely worth opening less so as you level up but I keep a chest full of chests for the hell of it .
Thank you for delivering helpful videos, I’ve made a game and beat it and I’d like to play through on a new world with a new character, do you think there’s a possible dupe glitch out there available on console that you could do solo or split screen if possible?

Its nice you can collect locked chest and put them in your inventory to open later. Beats bringing keys with you while mining.
Rune lens actually lets you dash through roots and across like 3.5 block holes/water.
They need to update key and open box!! It should be automatically open when you have the key. Instead of checking manu too often
You can also jump over a small block of water if you are walking around in a maze and forget bridges with that rift lens off hand!

You can shift click the keys for the chests, would still be better to just open them if you had a key on you.

Locked chests are good for free metal bars. Always bring a salvage & repair table with you.

Glad to see the mining armor set rate for those chests.
I remember the days we were trying to craft the rune song in the Reddit chats! Fun times, love that the TH-cam content is working out for ya!
the thing is, you can upgrade the eassy biome loot that isnt rare or so also and they get really good too

That grind is real.
good luck with your grind!

Thank you so much! I think it's possible but no one has found a way as of yet. If we do I will post a video on how to do it
