Port beating Collingwood must be viewed as a non-negotiable. Collingwood’s form has been below expectation and Port’s form doesn’t indicate anything meaningful. If Port are truely on an upward trajectory they need to make a statement.
At the G pies will beat them
Port always lose big games. They’ll play the pies back into form.
@@Jazzanaught That is my expectation. Port capitulate when the whips are cracking.
@@Richoman24 Probably as Port lack mental fortitude.
Pies by 20
Kanes not wrong. one great win doesnt mean shit if you dont make finals and/or have another handful of embarrassing losses later in the season. consistency is the only thing that matters for the bulldogs now
Cornes is spot on. Bevo is not the man to lead the dogs to the promised land. He's had his time. See ya bevo.
There’s one word to describe the Doggies play. Fickle. Brilliant one week and crap the next.
Only team that can finish top 4 and bottom 4 in the comp. Could even win a flag
Typical Kingy changes his views week to week based on short term performance. Typical Kane backing himself in the long term. Kane is playing chess kingy playing checkers
Kingy saying dale getting dropped the week before was the soul reason for him playing so well is a massive cope lol
I agree with Cornes as a dogs supporter. the likes of vandermear in our side should be replaced by Daniel. as the link from half forward into the forward line. I know a lot of people are saying this game solidified naughton as a forward but I think the team balance would still be better with him at half back. Just like how this week freo will play Jackson forward.
Why are the saints not in the conversation with hawthorn and north in respect to experience. There playing 22’s have been below the 4th youngest in each round this season and yet they are held to far higher standard.
lol why is the afl media terrified to criticise Lyon like they criticise all other coaches
100% agree. Feel like Lyon made a few friends during his recent media career.
Anyone the media think is 'super intelligent,' they're absolutely frightened of tackling head on. Lyon is one of these, he's considered by the media as smarter than he actually is, Lyon's smart, but is he that smart? lol
Not sure Kingy has a leg to stand on arguing Bulldogs selection with Kane, c’mon Kingy, Bramble v Daniel, really?? Lay down misere…despite what all the Vics think, Kanes receipts would look pretty good, right more than wrong
Why is Hinkley not criticised? 12 seasons as senior coach without a grand final appearance. Has any senior coach lasted that long?
At least Bevo has overseen one flag, one runners up and a few finals campaign.
Everybody knows how Kane operates so it’s predictable
Anything less than a grand final appearance should be viewed as a failure.
@@Jamie_one_of_many_prophets Over 12 seasons it certainly is. Usually a senior coach will rarely survive 6 years without success. We did see Chris Scott go from 2012 to 2021 without a premiership. But he did oversee a premiership in his debut year (2011) and also made a GF against the Tigers and win a flag in 2022
You can understand why Geelong preferred stability.
When you have a strong Club culture and leaders across the organisation who pass on their wisdom and experience to younger players coming through the system, the senior coach picks himself really.
@@PetraKann It shows a lack of accountability. Port should possess the personnel to be a contender yet they routinely disappoint in big games which strongly indicates they are missing what is fundamental to achieve greatness, mental resilience and strong leadership.
Besides cornea bias, non Victorian coaches usually have lasted longer because of the lack there of competition in their state for coaching plus not many non Victorian based coaches really want to switch to another state other than Victoria. Look at wc. Still persistence with their coach because no other people want to coach them at this stage
@@shafachowdhury2872 WC are due for a new coach although it’s a hard sell as their rebuild hasn’t truely become yet despite the uncompetitiveness.
Don't write of the bulldogs EVER. Remember the 2021 preliminary final against Port? Absolutely no one picked them to win that game, but they flogged Port.
Port lack any semblance of mental fortitude. They routinely capitulate when there’s lofty expectations. Having any faith in Port in big games often results in disappointment.
There is no team that has been as inconsistent as the Bulldogs and the coach is to blame.
Dale was in horrible form before last night - him becoming the sub was completely justified, you can't blame Bevo for that
It isn’t just about Dale though? He’s one of many. Why are so many all Australian players playing out of form? It’s the coaches responsibility to get the most out of the player.
rubbish. had 1 bad game playing as a 3rd tall coming off 3 strong performances off half back. Was made sub then put back to half back and was BOG. terrible coaching
Dale is a ball mover / meters gained sort of player... that's his value. He didn't get that benefit for one game as the 3rd tall. But in the other games, he's fallen a bit short of prior year numbers. Move him forward to a wing against St Kilda, and he gets over 800 meters. Unreal.
He shits on Bevo who has been to two GFs and won 1 whilst simultaneously defending the perennial pretender Port and Ken. Im a tiges man but how is this possibly fair?
Soooo Kane can't lose. Dogs win or lose, he's right. Of course...
He’s not wrong though…. Saints didn’t come in to play, dogs have a seriously good list, they have everything, depth to. I’m a crows fan that can’t stand him personally but his take on this has always been right
You shouldn’t judge the validity of a take like that on the basis of week to week results anyway.
That’s the actual issue - that you think one match is all it takes to judge.
Yep, I agree with ya. I'm a Dogs fan and everything Kane has said about us is only what I've said for the last 6 years. We've completely wasted the list, the coach has anyway. @catchemcarlisle5655
@ joeybourke07 C’mon mate. You can’t watch the Dogs put in a performance like that and not question how they’ve not achieved more over the last few years.
spot on kane. the team with a top 4 list beat a crap team and all the vultures acting like the coach is good?
did you have the dogs in the top eight with your preseason predictions??
❤respect another formative fun show sir kingy and sir chad respect❤
Looking at North's core/future players, it's no wonder they struggle to put full games together and Clarkson has said it many times.
Larkey - 25yo and 99 games
Xerri - 25yo and 35 games
LDU - 24yo and 90 games
Powell - 22yo and 50 games
Biggie (early call) 22yo and 2 games
Curtis - 21yo and 41 games
Phillips - 21yo and 32 games
Sheezel - 19yo and 28 games
Wardlaw - 19yo and 13 games
McKercher - 19yo and 5 games
Duursma - 18yo and 5 games
They lost Tarryn Thomas before round 1, lost Logue for the first half of the season before round 1, lost Pink for the season in round 1 and lost CCJ for the season in round 3. Then add possibly the "hardest first 5 rounds" coming up against the Giants, Freo, Blues, Lions and Cats. None of that can help a team that has finished bottom 2 for the last 4 seasons.
As a long long fan of the Doggies. I agree with Kane. I thought it for a while. I think Bevo should be honored but he needs to move on. The way he has dealt with Jackson McCrae tells you more than Bailey Dale. Just look where Bevo has put Macrae each week and notice when the clearances have been down. Jackson is an effective supply player to the forwards. The only reason Doggies lost to top placed Geeling was because Bevo put McCrae as sub? The confidence building win against Cats would have helped.
The reason the win was so big against the Saints was because Bevo didn't have much to stuff up... With Jamara out and Libba he had to play McCrae in the clearances and forced into the potential forward line contest.
They play better without Libba and Jamara as central. Jamara should be on the wing and Libba as a moving tagger
Beveridge has taken one of the financially poorest clubs in the AFL to a premiership and runner up in 7 years. Just look what happened to North Melboure after Brad Scott, years at the bottom. Kane's assessment of the list is fanciful, hasnt had a winner in the back 6 for years, totally reliant on midfield/forward. I wouldnt be going for Kane's old untried Port mate who has never been a senior coach too.
so if bulldogs are rated THAT highly by korn, we should put more pressure on port powers underachieving list and their Long in the tooth coach.
Next 4-6 weeks will find out a lot about Geelong, Carlton and Sydney. Im not ready to throw Collingwood or Brisbane away from flag favourite yet. Port and Melbourne look a bit shaky in finals but should put themselves there again..
Funny how kingy didn't go on about the cauldron and response when essendon bounced back last week
Very clever Kornes, moving himself into a position where he can't be wrong - Bulldogs play well, Kane's right, Bulldogs lose, Kane's right. Makes you wonder how to tell the difference between who's performing, players or coach...
No interest in the Derby?
On the Doggies, if you're going to make moves to challenge players like Dale, Lobb, etc... you do it early in the year and you demand they get into good form. The issue with the team has been consistency... and if you get that from key veterans, that's a good starting point. The Doggies may battle with consistent play from role players, especially at high flanks and wingers. But I think with St. Kilda, they found some answers. The issue with Bevo is that he sometimes tinkers with the list too much to the detriment of getting consistent play.
Kane bang on the money (as he is more often than not…).
Kane is definitely right on the doggies
Wonder if this should be considered in light of Bevo's comments after last week's game (something about selections against Essendon being more about this week).
Once Kane has someone on his hate meter nothing changes his mind
The dogs list is easily worthy of finals, if they dont make it the criticism is absolutely justified. They have the highest performing midfield, a couple of great intercept backman now and a stacked forwardline
I reckon the bloke has been a dsignificant coaching under-performer considering his list, but geez, that reconfiguration of the side last night was impressive. The forward line looked a LOT more dynamic WITHOUT Ugle-Hagan. Question mark is the opponent, StKilda looked very flat.
Could you imagine Cornes as a Coach? He'd be constantly in the bottom four
It is easy to criticize decisions when you know the outcome. Kane saw the outcome of a player kicking out of bounds 3 times but Bevo didn't know the outcome when deciding who to play, maybe that player ripped it up through the week at training and looked the best on the track. You can't judge a decision after the fact without "getting into the tunnel" with the person to see what they saw and know what they knew at the time they made the decision. If you gave any coach a crystal ball and they saw a dud game from a star player and asked them if they would play them, or course they will say no.
Kane not changing his mind????? Whaaaaaaaat????
That’s because he’s right.
without a doubt they can be top four
Is Beveridge building a squad of 30 and lets see who is standing at the end of the season
It is more about how crap the aints are than the dogs🤔
seven teams who should make the finals
gws
geelong
collingwood
brisbane
carlton
sydney
melbourne
against teams that may get a spot in the 8
port power
crows
suns
saints
bulldogs
essendon.
freo
how many of these teams are good enough to knock off the top teams to make the 8.
did you have the dogs in the top eight with your preseason predictions?? no one, crickets.....
Kane corner has never coached....and it shows ..cornes would drop players after one bad game ....cornes is clueless
Give yourself an uppercut on the way to work hahahaha love that kingly 😂
you helped promote boxing during the gather round in afl media, should the issue be as big as korn wants to make it. punch me on the field or in the ring but dont knee me whilst marking the ball.
King definitely hates the cats flog
Don't care about the Doggies at all but I'm glad they made the legacy media's coverage look so wrong. Awaiting the same treatment for Adelaide IF they lose to Essendon tonight.
They won't. Essendon beating dogs and saints were a fluke. They will get flogged by Adelaide or if they somehow win. They will get caught with drugs in their system, like 2012 lol 😂
@@Nz-33 Super cool comment.
@@TrueSaintly almost as "cool" as you guys winning a final? 🤫😂
@@Nz-33 I don't play for Essendon.
@@TrueSaintly of course you don't "play" for Essendon. I wasn't suggesting your an Essendon player to begin with m8! 😂
Kane Cornes, you're the same one who was talking about useless stats and kickins shouldn't be stats but then when its suits his argument all of a sudden it's 'Bailey Dale has 39'. lol
how many kickins did he have? lol
the dees smash the dogs most of the time.
