This video is so cool! Reminds me of when I grinded for all the trophies in the Battle Mason in XY. As well as my love for rain teams Also, what was your strat for dealing with ferrothorn?
The strat for Ferro was Scald burns 🙏 and/or Swords Dance up with Scizor ⚔️. They're honestly not too bad, the curse Ferro's are the only somewhat concerning ones.
sick, i've been into beating the battle subway lately with a newfound love for team building lol. i'd love to try out a rain team like this sometimes, normally i'm a filthy trick room user so if you have any recs i'd love that :D
There is a really good rain team similar to this one that uses gastrodon instead of thundurus. It's on smogon's website a guy got over a 1000 wins with it lol.
Nah. Scizor has fantastic bulk and only a x2 Fire weakness in Rain. It's a much better switch in than Excadrill, who doesn't resist Grass (e.g. Virizion) or Ice (Abomasnow!) and is weak to Fighting (e.g. Conkeldurr, etc) and Ground (Hippowdon!). Not worth the additional Electric immunity. It also relies on EQ, which hurts Poli and Ludi has to Protect or tank it, and Rock Slide which can miss. Bullet Punch is wonderful to have and Scizor is better suited for Swords Dancing in this team. It's nice to have for things like Curse/Cosmic Power users (e.g. Registeel, Ferrothorn). Politoed is the only Electric weak, Thundurus is immune, Scizor is neutral and has good bulk. Ludi is also neutral and outspeeds every Electric type besides Manectric 4... and everything in the Subway besides that and Entei 3.
If I had to guess it’s because gastrodon is too slow. In battle gauntlets like: the battle subway, battle tower, battle maison etc. it’s better to end battles quickly with a fast aggressive strategy that kills stuff quickly and reliably Rather than let the games drag on and risk loosing to crits, hax and bad luck
I tried this same team and when I got to final boss battle he opened with haxorus chandelier and it was a 2v2 scissor and thunderous vs electrons and excadrill and I won
@@IAmHeraticA bit of a stupid question, but how does one IV train? Do they work like EVs where you gain a stat point boost by defeating a specific pokemon as well?
@@Loner098 You can't IV train in Gen 5. You have to continuously breed Pokemon that already have good IVs and/or hope you get lucky. It's difficult and time consuming. Too be brief, IVs can't be changed in Gen 5. For the most part, aside from some specific scenarios, IVs are generated for each Pokemon when you encounter them in the wild or when you grab an egg from the day care. Instead what I do is RNG manipulate all of my Pokemon on Black 1 and transfer them to Black 2. On youtube imablissy has good guides for RNG manipulating. Smogon has articles on RNG manipulation too.
It's combos like these that will always reaffirm my belief that Double battles are way more engaging than single battles. Well done!
If we ever get a remake of this game, I would hope they would bring back the Battle Subway
Don’t ask for a remake, hope it doesn’t exist.. they just don’t care about making better Pokémon games.
@@adriantovias8681A remake of this game would truly be amazing.
Stop talking woman and go make a sandwich.
BW2 are literally perfect tho

Have you considered replacing Scizor with Mold Breaker Excadrill? Your team has a severe Electric type weakness.
Nah.

I'm using it. It works if you don't have politoed drizzle. Instead of scald on ludicolo, use surf to boost gastrodon sp atk with its storm drain.
Is the multiplayer still a thing on Gen 5!?
are you able to catch a politoed with drizzle?
yes! there is a hidden grotto with a poliwhirl with its hidden ability, look up hidden grottos on serebii :)
Yes in the hidden grotto in Pinwheel Forest, you can catch a Poliwhirl with its hidden ability
I tried this same team and when I got to final boss battle he opened with haxorus chandelier and it was a 2v2 scissor and thunderous vs electrons and excadrill and I won
do ivs matter when building a team for battle subway and PWT?
Yes, every trainer in the Super trains and a chunk of the PWTs all have Pokemon with perfect IVs.
In pwt you can easily win all tournaments without caring about ivs (though you will be in disvantage). Training evs is the enought.
