    The difference between overlanding and backpacking is the amount of wine you can bring.
    Your production values have really improved in the last 8 months or so! Keep up the good work!

    Excellent video! We encountered the same kind of winds at Nordkapp Norway last summer, we didn't sleep a wink all night listening to the rain fly flutter in the wind. A few times it felt as if the Land River lifted. 😳 After that trip we now carry a spare tent in a storage box for extreme weather conditions where the rooftop tent would be hopeless for anything resembling sleep. Knock on wood we've not used it yet. 😉

    • @LifestyleOverland
      @LifestyleOverland  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +tukocan Thanks so much for watching! Any type of tent and high winds is a rough combination. Now that we've tested the 23 Zero is 80+ mph winds we will sleep a lot better with the help of some ear plugs! Just the fear of damage kept me awake in the past, but now I can sleep ok since I don't have to worry about that.

    Your videos are seriously on point. They remind me of the early Expedition Overland videos. Great narration too! My one rec would be to use less zoom in and out, it gives it a 90's feel which I'm not sure you're going for?

      +Timothy Gerdes No you can run relatively low pressures as long as you are mindful of a few things. Here's an article we just re-released on the subject: www.lifestyleoverland.com/deflating-overland-travel-2018/

      I've been noticing this. I think there are tormented people trolling on YT that thumb down just to make themselves feel powerful. My guess is that they've never camped at a KOA, much less overland. Great video, great life.

    How much water can you carry with the turtleback on a trip like this?

    • @LifestyleOverland
      @LifestyleOverland  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bryan Nelson It holds 42 gallons in the main tank and 6 more gallons in the water heater... So plenty!

    Question Guy's......My wife and I are building our long bed Ford F350 with Topper Camper in the bed to do exactly the same thing as you are doing (minus TH-cam). It occurred to us that on occasion we might want a little air conditioning in the back in certain situations but are not finding much of use on the subject. What do ya'll think about the subject?

    • @LifestyleOverland
      @LifestyleOverland  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's really a tough one. I've heard of a few people running very small portable units but just keep in mind that an AC is going to suck power really hard. You would probably want to carry a generator and install an RV style AC in the roof of the topper. Anyone else feel free to chime in if you have a better option here.

    • @capnrik6397
      @capnrik6397 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a generator noise fan and way to much power needed for normal AC's as you know. I'm starting to think that we need to just get out there and absorb necessary learning but being a retired Coastie and boat cap'n my mentality is to plan survival of whatever I sail into... How hot does it actually get most nights in the regions you are following? Will fans do the job or is it actually cold at night in many of these places? I'm going northern states and mid west first chasing trout streams.
      Great videos by the way. Some of the best out there and we dig watching your girl grow as our son did on our sailboat!

    Have u thought about getting a teardrop trailer ?

    • @LifestyleOverland
      @LifestyleOverland  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +tseng jessica The teardrop trailers are made of plywood and glue so they can't hold up to the torture we put them through. The Turtleback Trailer is made of welded steel and aluminum so they can handle the roughest trails for years to come. Plus, the tear drops have less storage and can feel like a coffin. I'll take the occasional windy night 😉

    Great production. One comment, the owner of Turtleback needs to stay on the trail. That was not part of the trail, its abuse like that that can cause the NPS to close Echo Canyon (one of my favorite trails), please let him know that. Carry on...
