The sun from the top of the mountain is brighter and more special than ever.
I can see that it must have been a really meaningful and very happy time for your who are climbing after a long time.
May this mountain give your great comfort and energy for body and mind.

Edit: A few seconds later and you pan to Brotherswater. That's got a special memory for me. A few years back we camped at Sykeside (Mike's favourite place) and nipped down the lane to the river that flows between the campsite and the farmhouse and followed the river down to Brotherswater. It was a blistering hot day and we all just dove straight in to Brotherswater and had one of the greatest swims I've ever experienced. It was one of those very rare PERFECT days. Ace vid Alan, thank you.

I always say, if you have a clear day, the summit of Red Screes is some of the best in the Lake District and when I sun came out just before I got there, I could have danced for joy. I like that saying. "A Massive Fight Between The Sun And Clouds" I was on a hike yesterday and i had the black clouds chasing me. Unfortunately the clouds one and I got soaked. All of your hikes amaze me since there aren't trees to to obstruct these incredible mountain views. It's the complete opposite of the Appalachian mountains I hike in the US. You can see so much detail in the terrain. Glad your back out on the trail hiking again! I'm sure it felt amazing to get outside & go for a climb again,

Great video. Red Screes - one of my favourites. Did it a couple of years ago from Ambleside via Scandale and onto Middle Dodd then Red Screes. Went down via Snarker Pike - fabulous day with great weather.

This was one of the places I'd picked to wild camp this year but didn't make it to the lakes with all the lockdowns and my health issues, looks a stunning place, that fall you had sounded bad, some stunning views from the top there, another cracking hike and video mate, atb 👍

You are more than welcome and very well deserved as well. I would have loved to have bumped into you on Red Screes and it would have made a brilliant day even better. There is only the tarn up there but imo, some of the best view in the Lakes, on a clear day. I use the GoPro Hero 7 Black for all my video and am very happy with it, although I have an external mic to stop all the wind noise. The only downside is it is not that good in really poor light but that can be improved when I edit the video. Thank you for watching, something I appreciate, take care, cheers Alan

I know some people are continuing to travel for "exercise" but I think 2 hours driving is pushing it and not fair on people you might need if things go wrong. great stuff. I remember going up red screes, there was a waist high ledge bit we had to get up, it was quite comical me trying to get up on that. Great views, a bit of cloud is better, gives it more atmosphere! Will check out those channels.

Looked a tough climb, Alan, and really enjoyed your commentary - almost too much detail at times!! Sorry to hear about your Covid experience, at least you didn't get it which is something to be thankful for. Even over here we've had lots of cases though our latest lockdown is helping to get the numbers down again. Hope you can get out again a few more times before the end of the year, Andrea is wondering why Mrs Metalman is not out with you, though I've explained that the climbs you do are steep!! Thanks for watching and I was very relived when our tests came back as negative, especially as Mrs Metalman has asthma and the beginning of COPD, which stops her from doing any climbing now. It's an easy route to follow and only a good hour to the top but imo, one of the best views in the Lake District. Take care over there, cheers Alan

Great video mate I've sat outside that pub many a time watching people hike up there looks very steep looks brilliant views from the top though I'll give it a go one day
For me, it's one of the best views in the Lakes when you get up there, a few scrambley bits that are awkward coming down, especially when the rock was wet but so worth while getting up there. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

Cool hike. Jagged rocky trail for parts of that. Great views from the top. Well worth the journey. No more falls. Be careful out there. Funny about the facilities. I'm so tired of the Covid. We just had a statewide mask mandate implemented today for the next 2 weeks. So far no lock downs yet, thankfully. Take care of yourself and have a great day!

Hey Alan! I was thinking it had been awhile since you made a video. I'm glad you're doing OK. I heard about the 2nd lockdown you guys are having over there. I am sure the same thing will probably happen in certain parts of the U.S this Fall and Winter. Really beautiful hike and looks like a pretty half decent workout getting up there. I really had no idea what hiking was like in the UK until I found your channel honestly. Maybe when things get somewhat back to normal I would love to go on a hike with you one day. Anyway brothers great video and please stay safe.
