Homie has an 86 with the base, I have a limited brz so we swapped to feel differences ect. You don't realize how handy the adaptive headlights are when you're cutting tight corners, especially on hills ect. I was set on getting these alpharex but after that experience, seeing as I bought this car to backroad/mountain/canyon carve.. I'm much better off just going for demon eye upgrades because the adaptive headlights are preem, I really don't want to loose that.
14:59 nah that is pretty insane. I don't even own this car but I can immediately tell that if I did, I'd directly go to these videos for such an in-depth guide. amazing vid as always kev!
Great video! I appreciate your commitment to making sure people are informed of their options! Just a heads up, the passenger headlight is aimed higher because roadside signs need to be better illuminated. This is why people are encouraged to know the country origin of their aftermarket headlights because their passenger side might be your country's driver side. Ex: My 17 Impreza has JDM projector headlights that aren't able to be adjusted properly for USDM roads, so on really dark roads I do get flashed by oncoming traffic. My car looks amazing with the black housing projectors, but I do temporarily blind others on occasion. Thanks again for the videos!
The stock headlights follow the steering wheel I can't remember what the tech is called but you can turn it on and off in your car's settings. Every time I start my BRZ my lights do a little calibration dance. My friend's GR86 does the same. It's not a dead spot just headlights with good tech lol
Great in depth product video. Hopefully everyone does their due diligence on leveling these. That cutoff was CRISP once you got done, but as you said, much brighter than OE so equally important to do this. Side note: I was happy with the OE headlights until I saw this video, damn you!
I didn’t know you could adjust headlights like this. I put off adjusting them because I thought you had to take off the whole front bumper and the headlights in order to adjust them. Saved me 💀
Kevin, have you seen any front fog lights for the GR86? I've seen 3D printed brackets for the BRZ, but nothing for the GR86. It would be great to find some amber ones that sit above the open areas of the grill (to avoid blocking airflow to the radiator), but sit behind the grill so they don't protrude.
I’d love to see you review the IPE exhaust for these cars (which is also a valvetronic system). Also, would’ve copped these 100% if they also had the adaptive steering function and/or the factory cars didn’t come with that feature.
Kevin i think you need to adjust those headlight to be more wide. I think it too center and it give me anxiety for not being able to see the side of the road clearly
The output of the Alpharex's looks amazing, now I kind of want them. I also kind of want your RGB stockers! LOL Wheels are actually the next big thing on my list, but I did pick up the Alpharex 4th brake light and should have it Thursday. Got it directly through Alpharex, sorry, didn't know you were selling them.
Easily the best looking aftermarket headlight option for our cars right now but I'll stick with OEM since I don't want to lose the adaptive steering function (I always forget what it's actually called). I just wished the DRLs on our stock headlights were a full strip that runs edge to edge like these AlphaRex. No idea why Toyota/Subaru designed ours the way they did..
Great content! The white and amber both look great, I think it just depends on the car color and overall setup. One question I think for the people as a whole.. how far away should you park from the wall for adjusting the height?
Just thought of adding this tid bit of information: "stronger" lights usually use more power (they output more wattage). I'm not sure if that's the case here, but I thought I'd mention what "stronger LEDs" mean
Holy crap I was on the fence for these cuz I'd lose the steering responsive lights but the extra turn signal light is genius. I love these lights even more now. Btw Kevin are we ever gonna get a video on the alpharex tail + trunk light?
17:10 thats cool for turning and all, but still doesnt help for winding roads where youre not actually turning by law. I wouldnt want to lose that. These are a no brainer for anyone with a base model
I love these but I don’t want to lose the functionality of the swiveling headlights on mine 😔
Same
that's why i bought a base model so i can feel better about upgrading haha 🤣

I'm so torn between keeping stock and getting these as well
I also dont wanna loose those adaptive headlight. It was so op. It was so much easier to do a night mountain run and so much clear.

Thanks for yet another great video Kevin! When will we see Part 2 of the X-Force valved exhaust video?!
Great video! I appreciate your commitment to making sure people are informed of their options!

I wasn't thinking about headlights, but now.... 🔥🔥

Yknow when I discovered that the premium had the adaptive headlights, I couldn't stop turning my steering wheel 😅
I believe the reason why when you turn the turn signal on , is to replace the adaptive turning you were saying when it was removed from the OEM.
I didn’t know you could adjust headlights like this. I put off adjusting them because I thought you had to take off the whole front bumper and the headlights in order to adjust them. Saved me 💀
I bought these and it is worth every penny trust in Kev
The amber goes really well with the red paint.
The valenti jewel headlamp looks even more amazing
Did they just come out with that? I don’t see it for sale anywhere… can you link me?
@@CarsOverPeople it's not out yet but looks sweet
@@iokuse8498
Where’d you see it?
@@CarsOverPeople valentijapan on TH-cam channel they have jewel side mirrors too
hope to get these in the upcoming months these look so good especially with the black housing
Just recently ordered a pair of alpharex headlights off of your website, excited to fit them on my gr86. Tho im more excited to get the sour patch😂
finally! now i'm definitely getting one of those headlights
Troi oiiii! I may upgrade to these one day! Loving the AlphaRex Lightbar (Especially after getting the trunk button to work) lol
Where’s the xoforce exhaust update? Alot of us really want to see what it truly sounds like

Great video Kev. This definitely gives a clear picture of the light output difference.
WTF there is suuuuuuch an improvement with these headlights!!!!

For the DRL's, how about white during the day, amber at night!
I went from those are sick I might get them for my 86 to well shit for $1300 the better be that good damn
Super informative - thanks!

Factory headlights definitely suck. These seem way better for range and overall brightness. Helpful video and nice work.

Love your videos man! Your videos are so in depth it really helps me out since im new to cars

4:04 never knew that's what those teeth were on the adjuster, dang O.o
Could you make a video on removing and installing the front fenders?
Hey Kevin! Several months ago you mentioned the Spyder tail lights. Have you tried them out yet? I've been excited to see a video about them!
love my 86 but jealous of the audi in the bg bc i grew up with an s4 around me
That amber looks good! now I know my next upgrade lol
What aerokit are you running? It looks clean 👌
can you let AlphaRex know that the VB needs a set of headlights too 😤
I was thinking of trying to make the DRLs violet or purple but don't feel like it'll look good when executed
17:10

when are forged key covers coming back in stock?
Review vland headlights next 🙏
what type of exhaust do you have on ur gr86? and can u make a video for it
I am not an owner of a gr86, but because of this guy i probably will be
Dooooo itttttt
Had a base, now have trueno.
I was going to get alpharex before but now - NO WAY.
These make such a massive difference, it wouldn't be worth it.
How about on the new wrx VB 👀
Almost seems like they’re pointed in too narrow and should have a wider beam pattern.
Anyone know what kind of wheels those are?? Advan? Rays?
I'll slide in your DMs for other parts.
WHAT TIREs/rims does he have
what's the other aftermarket headlights?
How do you get your bumper to stay clipped in with no gap since you take it off often
These bumper brackets are designed much better than the previous gen so I haven't had any issues.
I want to buy a BRZ ts at the end of the year, but be honest: how bad is the maintenance going to be?
These cars are super easy to maintain!!! All you need to do is change your oil!
what flavor sideskirts is he running?
I was just thinking about copping these, good timing… not so much for my wallet tho 😅
AWE touring exhuast needed..
1250 $$ 😮
first!
