You are dropping in a free fall motion (under weight only) and therefore you have only +1G (actually slightly less due to the angle + resistances), and then if you are going up afterwards at a 90deg angle you experience a -1G. The energy stored/used in the ride is, as implicitly mentioned before, because of the initial height, and not these G's.
Nope; Energy is always Force times distance. the " 24 tons" resulting from the 4G's of force is simply a result of Newton's second law for dynamic/ accelerating masses.
