  • In Tibet, many peaks are paved with legends and fire the imagination of millions of people.
There is one, unique in the world, that is considered sacred by both Hinduists and Buddhists: the Mount Kailash. This massive rock attracts each year pilgrims in search of beauty and absolute.
Kailash is surrounded by myths and to this day, no one has ever dared climb its 6700 meters. It is said that one trip around the mountain, by completing full body prostrations along the ground, will wipe away all the sins of one's current life.
Fascinated by this mythical mountain, Florence and Simon will take us on their 900-kilometer journey and will make the pilgrimage of their life. They are both driven by a personal quest: for Simon, it is a last homage to a loved one. For Florence, it is a true desire for change.

I am Buddhist from western Himalayas India and seeing the Documentary so much moved that rolling tears didn't stop for quite sometime. As child I heard stories of kingdom of Guge. I could see now but in such ruined condition ---- in its pristine glory this kingdom must have been so glorious --- as described by the woman that the kingdom was surrounded by 108 Monasteries, and similar number of Chortens ----- lost a great heritage ----- Thank you so much ---- hope one day Great Milarepa's spirit will call me to pay my homage to mount kailash ( Gang Rinpoche) and kingdom of guge . Thank you so much.

If you are truly Tibetan then you should return to Tibet and help them with whatever resources you possess and rebuilt those historic buildings and artifacts to it's past glory. No point in hiding behind a keyboard and taking pip shots at China.

However, in Tibet, I have personally seen Tibetan people who follow the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism being able to hang portraits of the Dalai Lama in their homes. Восхищают тибетцы, непальцы, шерпы итд, у которых тяжелые условия жизни, несмотря на все невзгоды они достойно несут себя.

Great documentary, thank you for making and sharing ti with us. I have been to Mongolia, but never to Tibet or Napal. I do know that there are more Chinese people in Tibet then Tibetans in Tibet. Since China's invasion in 1950, that entire area has become grossly depended economically on the Chinese influence and it is a damn shame the west lets that happen. Oh wait, the 'west' is busy invading their own countries, taking over their natural resources and then ripping the people off by charging them five times the amount for something that used to be theirs in the beginning, can you say extortion? The Chinese are no worse than Americans, Great Britian or any other political system creating pissing contests in sand boxes for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Why is there no translation when the Tibetans are speaking?
Otherwise it is a wonderful documentary. Om Mani Padme Hum. Long Live TIBET!
