- Chad's been surfing in the Philippines, he also rode the new CFMOTO 450 MT, looks like a decent back to basics budget mini adventure bike. #cfmoto #adventurebike #adventure

CF Moto seem to be the standout brand amongst the Chinese manufacturers at the moment. Great value - and those wheels; the spokes look like they might be tubeless, which would be a nice touch.
They look like because they are tubeless
@@marcoaguiar3226 A definite plus point - Honda's Transalp for example only has tubed tyres.
Their QJ and Kove will take it amiss.
@@luddite6239until you dent a rim, then you calling for recovery
Confirmed tubless
Some things to note. Euro 5 version of this model is reduced to 2 less hp and torque. Top speed is also limited to 150 km/hr for the european model. The tank guards, the center stand and the alluminium skid plate don't come as standard.
The front mudguard is low not enduro style as well
limited to 150? Not even sure this beast would get to that in "full".
@@Marc99999well I've seen some vids on top speed, and it got pretty good 157-160ish. Not bad
This moto will beat all the concurents in his class 🎉 congrats cf moto 😊
Chad is taking over my TH-cam subscriptions 👏🏼😅
Spain, Philippines, (Tenerife?), hard life ey Chad!
Tenerife?? Not me
Bet you would have nothing against a trip to Lanzarote ;). cheers!@@Chad76Media
Have you ridden a T7? How does it compare without too much emphasis on the displacement difference in terms of power?
Welcome to the Philippines! My fave bike team on TH-cam is here!
If CF Moto bring that good bike, can't wait to se what new KTM Adventure 390 brings to the game, great video😊😊
Welcome to my back yard.
"No one seems to know what we're supposed to be doing" sounds real familiar 😂
Perfect video, looking to get one when I move to the Philippines 👍🇵🇭
Dude, that was awesome! I want one.
Thanks for the “off road” review, I am looking forward to doing an “on road” review when I can get my bum on one here in the uk.
Iiving in the Philippines I'm amazed they brought you there for a test .
I've lost around 6 biker buds through Dogs walking out or a Trike or Jeepney just pulling out in front of them.
Seriously not the place for a test and the other rule is never drive at night as many vehicles don't have lights and youll be up the arse of one before you know it.
I also thought it was weird. Sandy Dusty and hot ashell. And you can't properly test the vehicle there. And sorry to hear about your friends, that's sad.
Retiree living here in the PI as well. You hit the trifecta of my phobias when riding here, lol. Tricycles make me the most paranoid, they can turn any direction on a dime and do so without warning. Jeepneys are the safest, they really only do sudden stops or right turns to let a passenger off, so I just stay on their left. But yep, still a riding phobia list from hell, haha.
Cf Moto,life is cheap 🤫😁
@@scottdonald9256 I'm waiting on the Kove.
I want proper off road.
The MT is dressed to flatter but its basically an excellent road bike.
@@parasinthephilippines sounds like a good choice, I'm going the ktm 890 route myself, and praying for reliability 🤣😭🤣😭
Chad living the dream again! 👍
Working hard
Got slipper clutch? How is the gear shifting? Precise, false neutral?
Nice review! I'm from the Philippines and CFMOTO is more reliable than RE I would say.
How would you compare it to other brands like QJ or Benelli?
@@fallinginthed33p I believe QJ owns Benelli so they're both at par with each other. However, I ranked CFMOTO in terms of reliability. Benelli only sells because of their Italian heritage and styling.
Did you previously own a Re.?
@@interstellargod6959 they are very reliable come in india u will see the popularity of re
I'm not saying this in air because in india only those manufacturers exist who have very good reliability record and the main reason behind it is india is a price sensitive market and many people buy motorcycle for commercial purposes which can last long with very low maintenance
must be having a blast in the philippines
The ground breaking thing about this bike is that it is a small twin cylinder adventure bike with the full 18/21 wheels and 200mm of suspension. It actually looks like a decent sized bike with room for big guys to customize to suit. The benefit of twins is they have a wider rev range, smoother at all revs and less inclined to stall than a single cylinder, which is ideal for a trail / adventure bike. I hope we see more bikes in this category and they can get the weight down to around 170kgs wet without resorting to race bike service intervals. I suspect even the 450 MT could be trimmed of fat and get pretty close to that.
Watch KTM release a 450 Adventure, just like the new 790 is a CF Moto 800. 180kg wet is probably more realistic though.
Yes, but the KTM will be $15,000!
@@edsyphan3425As much as a 890 ADV R?
@burddog0792 I suspect this 450 MT uses the same motor as the 490 adventure that KTM was going to build.
Amen on the wish for 170kg wet. Even 180kg wet would be dreamy for me. Am a retiree living here in the Philippines and a 180kg wet 450MT would be my unicorn bike for riding around Benguet province yet still be able to legally enter the tollways to get in and out of Metro Manila.
Finally in the Philippines. Cant wait to buy it
…CF moto could be worrying ‘the big four’ manufacturers. Fair play, best of luck as any competition only works in the favour of the buyer.
Do you know when this is due in to the UK, all the KTM dealer (Fowlers Bristol)say is end of May
Loving your work Chad! I’ll try a beach intro 😂🤣
Love the Chad
Felling the love
They’ve sold out the first batch here in Australia.
$9k aud (same price as the Himalayan) but they will apparently go up by $500 for the next shipment.
They will sell really well here I think.
It's a nice package, but I am surprised nobody criticized CF Moto's price strategy. This bike is sold for roughly equivalent to $4300 in China, but they ask for $6400 in US. Overall, 5500 bucks would be a reasonable oversea price considering all other expenses like shipping, custom tax etc
I think the price will be its downfall in the U.S. It looks like a great bike, but price always plays a part.
The US has the lowest import taxes. Don't complain. In Europe, Royal Enfield bikes, for example, are priced at +114% of their domestic market.
@@lefterisbampaidis5446 well, still doesn't explain the $2000 price difference. Like I said, $5500 in US would be a fair price compared with the $4300 Chinese domestic price. Just hate to see the global customers get ripped off by the manufacture due to limited info about its domestic price.
@@daighoul doesn't shipping, setting up a US company, after sales, passing various test, and standards etc.. make up that difference in price.
@@defylifeadventure isn’t it required to do after sales, passing various test, and standards etc in China as well 🤣🤣🤣 I understand shipping and setting up a company part, that’s why I think $1000 price difference should be fair and $2000 is over charged.
Wow that switchgear with the abs button. 😮
Really, that is what you took out of this video? The thing is specced to the brim for a bike in this class, at a crazy good price but the switchgear is what set you off? 😂
Would this stand up to the British weather if ridden all year round though?? I suspect not, but if so, that is a great cheap commuter.
So when does it arrive in the uk ?
My second home 🇵🇭 . Pretty much the perfect type of bike there. £50 a month pcp is insane.
Had to look up we’re it’s made can’t lie be good for riding in all wet weather we have in as my go to bike is still asleep till summer haha.may look into getting one as in south Devon it about all the roads are fit for
Interesting, worth a test ride at the least.
Looking forward to seeing this in the UK @ a very attractive price it has little competition should sell well if you can find a dealership. I’ve been considering a Tenere 700 which I appreciate is likely a better bike albeit just as basic however I think the 450 will do what I want and save me 5k or more.
The 450 also has a much shorter seat hight 👍
Very true indeed and a better seat hopefully as the T7 has a narrow plank.
Finally a price 👍 £5699 is a bargain
Yeah but 6k for standing at the side of the road in the rain, I'd rather spend more and get home 😂
@@mark675
That can be almost any bike these days.
Electronics are going to make them all unreliable nightmares after a couple of years.
Familiar bits and pieces of KTM on there
Great location, good review. CFMOTO seem to be ok for the price and I'm sure they are teamed with KTM on some bikes.
I think it's the same Chinese factory that puts out the parallel twin KTM bikes?
800MT,800NK are equipped with KTM’s 799cc LC8c engine. 1250TR-G(I believe it is not on overseas market) is based on KTM LC8. And some of KTM models are produced by CFMOTO in China. Not long before CFMOTO had announced a cooperation with YAMAHA, but no details yet.
@@websterh530 plus they put money into racing which is a great thing.
I still say the 450 engine is the prototype duke engine to replace the 390.
27-28 hours Hong Kong to Manila, Manila to somewhere else in the Philippines? 🤔... was your flight via New York? 😅
nice review though 😉
A parallel twin under 200kg fuelled up is pretty good against the single cylinder bikes in the adventure 400cc segment.
Looks good. CFMotos are reliable according to a friend who rode from China to England on one years ago. Tubeless tyres, as well, on this. Why don't the Tranalp and the Suzuki 800 have them? Or my SCR950, for that matter. There will be plenty of these on the roads in Thailand, where I am.
Cf moto has been in Greece for about 10 years with their quads and everyone who has bought them, we're happy with them and didn't have problems with them. The last couple of years they started selling bikes over here and I haven't heard of any major problems, only minor which you should expect from a brand new model. There are some guys here on TH-cam that were given last year as a long term test, two 800mt and were told by the dealer to try to break them. They tried, they took them off road following dualsport and off road bikes, dropped them continuously. The bike performed just fine with no problems except one of them which when they got it had a problem with the mapping but it got sorted by the dealer.
@@NickKolythas That's good news.
This bike has a lot of advantages but it's definitely heavy. For the style of riding it's built for, it's too heavy. Also I'd rather pay more for ride by wire and safely features. But for the money it's a CRF 300 Rally killer.
As a CRF1000 and a KTM390 Adv owner, I've not looked forward to a UK release since the 390 came to our shores
All good an well but whats the long term reliability like?
This 450 engine may be the most reliable engine of CFMOTO. They really put a lot of effort on it. I believe this engine is a top tier among this class when it comes to reliability.
@@websterh530 Thank you! I admit I do not know much about this company and the first I saw of the company was when I moved to Germany 6 years ago for work. Their ATVs are all over the place here. Where does the company do its engineering and design?
@@shmac96 CFMOTO is a Chinese motorcycle company. Their base is located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. They also have a North America headquarter in Minnesota. And a factory in Mexico(I’m not sure about this). There four-wheel business are mainly for overseas markets. I heard recently their overseas incomes are taking over their domestic numbers.
@@websterh530 Interesting. Thanks for the info! I take it you trust the company enough to buy their products?
Well nobody can answer that given its not even out properly yet. But their quads are pretty good quality from what ive heard
Getting harder to watch these. Just about to embark on yet another absolute piss wet 5°c ride 😂

Yeah quite a few actually:

Very GS Style on a budget
7 inch suspension travel no good where the kove n ktm are around 12" if they could increase the suspension to 10- 11" this bike would be great. 7 inches its a little bmw gs meant for the occasional dirt road
DRIVE IT ONCE A MONTH? REALLY? You sounded not convinced
Can’t find a dealer near me anywhere
The Royal Enfield 450 should have made the engine like this and it would be perfect .
the only thing thats worring at the moment is dealer support wich I`ve heard is pretty bad...that should get better, its a process I guess
We have asked about dealer network in the UK, they have about 30 with plans for that to double.
That's down to the importer to get their finger out and set it up. There is no excuse. I live in the Czech Republic and the CFMoto importer here (Journeyman) is brilliant. They have set up a great dealer network and are the number one supplier of quads in Czech and Slovakia. The two wheel bike dealer network is growing at a pace. They have a good stock of spares and offer a five year warranty on all the bikes.
shame is too heavy, similar to t7, with half of hp
He tenido motos trial, trail y maxitrail desde hace 45 años.
can;t believe you give such high praise to 450mt. im very happy cause of im chinese
Totalmente de acuerdo, CF Moto lo está haciendo muy bien en México también, esta parece ser la moto definitiva ( o al menos muy pero muy cercana a serlo), solo queda esperar a ver su fiabilidad.

Looking at owner reviews on CF Moto and RE and CF come out more favourable in reliability than RE. Also Yamaha part own the business, KTM is CF Moto and nearly everything you own in the west is made in china so I don't get peoples logic . Unless it's just pure narrow mindedness.

The new 390 is already been spotted testing in India
You can look at it pictures online
Japanese manufacturers better watch out. Real value for money from the Chinese.
Looks big and heavy for a 450.
Compared to what?
In reference to what? A dirt bike? An Enduro? I'm just wondering. This is a full size adventure bike that's a 450 and offers a big value. Should be about 425 lb wet, which is 27 lb lighter than a T7. I think they did good to have the weight where it's at. That KTM that's supposedly in the works maybe more up your alley. But I'm sure it will cost thousands more. I'm actually crossing my fingers on that one. I won't be buying another motorcycle till spring next year, so if KTM comes out by then, I will have some choices on my hand s
Official claimed weight is 190kg wet, but a couple of early reviewers who were at El Nido say it's close to 200kg wet. I hope when full reviews with weigh-ins are done it turns out lighter.
