I believe the width of the leg is key! I love wide leg jeans and trousers, but I discovered this the hard way, after wasting a ton of money on wide leg jeans with a too-wide leg. But, if the leg is moderately wide, and falls straight down from the hip, it is super flattering! Also, I totally agree about the shoes. I find a delicate, pointed toe shoe looks very flattering.
Great tips! As a slimmer petite I struggle with fit and the wide leg jeans looking too slouchy and sloppy. I'm looking forward to trying your styling ideas!
Bought the jeans bc of you and you are 100% correct - they are so comfy and so perfect! I'm 5'1 and the length is perfect! Thank you for the great fashion inspo here! I'm going to order the bomber sweater and belt. xo
Hi Lori! Great video for wide leg jeans. I had a pair of denim wide leg jeans several years ago that I loved. Perfect fit for my wide hips. They are no longer made.😌 You have shared so many great options!❤ Enjoy your weekend!
@@lindajames4922 Good morning Linda! Oh no such a bummer when you find something you love and then it’s no longer available. 🥲. I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend! 🤗💞
Good weekend morning Lori🎃 I love this video. I have 2 pr of wide leg jeans and I'm 4'11. I have been styling mine like your style #1. I love a moc turtleneck, crop jacket and a pair of my favorite brown boots. Love your style! Have a beautiful weekend. 🧡🍁🍂🍂🍁🧡
Lori, you are so beautifully proportional in all these looks and have explained how to enjoy this trend and look great doing so! I love my wide-legged jeans and pants as they’re incredibly stylish, chic and I find very comfortable. I’m 5’2” and a bit chunkier than you but with confidence I’m prepared to make most things work! Have a great weekend and thank you for sharing. 🧚🏻♀️❤️🐝🇦🇺
Great tips thank you. If wearing these with slim trainers where should they fall? At the ankle or below? Is the shoe styling the same for boot cut jeans? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
@@sakkafamily3733 Hi! So this is my opinion, but as long as the jeans aren’t puddling the floor they look good with whatever type of flat or slim sneaker you wear. Ankle length, skimming the top of your shoe whatever. I hope this helps! 💞
TFS❤ I also would like to try that reversible belt from Amazon but the size S has only 27" as the shortest/smallest waist size... can I add more holes to fit a size 25" w/o any issues? Thanks in advance and have a great day!
@@celparas9792 Hi! Yes I think you would be able to, but you will have a lot of extra belt at the end. The belt is made to slide the excess underneath the top so it isn’t exposed.
Wide leg jeans are only for mild weather where I live. Winters are very snowy and I have to wear big snow boots. Mine will be put away very soon, unfortunately.
I've never purchased a pair of pants or jeans that did not have to be shortened. I sew it myself. There are videos about how to shorten jeans without losing the bottom detail. I do better than a tailor.
The other thing to note when purchasing wide leg jeans is to really make sure that they fit perfectly at the waist, hips and bum. If that isn’t achieved, you’ll be disappointed. No saggy bum leading into that wide leg.
@@DinaEOrmando Hi Dina! This is just my personal opinion, but I don’t find them flattering on petites or anyone else lol. Again that’s just my personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt. But if you love them go for it because they are definitely trending! 😊💕
Helpful video. Except tailoring around here is so expensive, nothing less than $25 for hemming alone. The price of the garment rapidly escalates for us petite gals.
@@lorettas4443 Hi Loretta, I know it’s expensive here too. Really hate how we have to pay even more for a proper fit. Anytime I can get by without doing it I will. But then there are certain pieces that really require it. Very frustrating for sure.
It's expensive where I am too. Five dollar hem alterations are long gone. The pants have to fit perfectly and make me look great, otherwise I pass them by. I guess this might be a good thing because it's saving me money, lol. Bad for the brands but I feel they don't want to bother with petite options any more.

I buy crops...they hit at the exact place they're supposed to as full length. I'm 5 feet but not petite which may be the reason that works. Plus I learned to sew when I was 6 (I'm 70).
@@JaniceHofmann-Caceres Hi Janice! If you are 5ft then you are petite 😊. It refers to height not size. I agree I have purchased many cropped pants that were perfect as full length for me.
I would definitely avoid buying the cropped version. I only wear my wide jeans with heels for maximum length but I'm a little unhappy with the shape to be honest, I may not wear them beyond this year, the baggy hip & thigh area is too wide although good for covering up a post-lunch belly
