I laughed at your "huge target". I live on the east coast of FL, but years ago when I lived near Cape Cod, I got a big signal and decided to see what it was. Turns out it was a manhole cover washed out to the beach from the hurricane of 1938. Lol!
I've seen manhole covers selling for up to $3000 online. I guess it depends on the year and composition material. Did you make anything on the one you found?
@@Johnnybgood76 This one was a Narragansett Electric manhole cover in what looked to be bronze. I actually just covered it back up and left it for the next guy. That thing was massive and heavy as heck!
Thanks for picking up the junk & disposing of it properly. I've seen other metal detectorists just leave the garbage on the beach (& I go pick it up & get rid of it). I take care of my beaches, & I imagine that once I get out with my new toy, I'll be picking up garbage, too. You're a man after my own heart. ❤
Nice hunt Shawn good to see your father out there with you 👍 I got out yesterday for a few hours got a 1920 and 1927 wheatie, 1923 buffalo, 1946 rosie, and a 1901 IHP 👊👊👊
A dry viewing today: it’s the first time we haven’t been able to play the drinking game because - for the first time - there were no ‘freakin’ pull tabs’!! Enjoyed this hunt anyways. 😎
No doubt! I haven't been there in a few years. I know its usually slim pickings unless a LOT of sand gets moved out. I had heard that conditions were pretty good a few days before, so I figured it would be worth the drive!
Love watching your videos, you do so much good for the beaches of Florida cleaning them up. Love it when you find all the coins and the freakin pull tabs.
Great hunt with your dad! I usually throw my rusty or crusty stuff in a container with apple cider vinegar and forget about it for a few days ( or longer)The rust falls off and calcium deposits dissolve. Also Congrats on your first beach buffalo 🦬 😃
The fact that you left the ginormous whatever might mean that you left a hoard of gold! The magnet fishers are always finding safes in canals in Amsterdam and they debated on whether to pull one out because it so deep in mud which made it extra heavy. It turned out to be a safe from the King of Sweden, and it had 2 car key fobs plus a copy of their Will and other important docs inside. At first I thought it was a scam, but their palace was flooded, and they thought those items were lost forever. There was also money, credit cards, and a wallet. I hope that when you stumble across large items the next time, you will take the time to dig them up! Anyway, I love your videos and hope you keep finding good things. GOD BLESS YOU!!!
You should take all the metals home and start recycling buckets and sort it. Iron isn't worth it but the lead weights, copper, stainless, brass...all worthwhile.
In the 1970s they dropped a lot of tire off the east coast of Florida to make artificial reefs, Bad Idea. That is probably where that tire weight came from. Great video.
I was at Daytona Beach below the Sunglow Fishing Pier, the first full week of October with my very cheap metal detector and only found 1 tent stake, before we had to mandatory evacuate for Hurricane Milton. I kept getting between 29-31 on detector but couldn’t find anything, very disappointing being from Kentucky, I don’t get to the beach very often.
@@DetectFlorida i found a lot of stuff (coins, tent stakes, aluminum foil, can tabs, pliers) at Redington Shores last year, that’s why I was excited to try Daytona where people drive on the beach, but no bueno. I can’t justify $1,000 detector for 1 or 2x a year detecting!!
Great hunt, I'll be at siesta the weekend of 11/17, would be so cool to bump into you like that guy. Glad you're still getting out, I wonder if the gulf coast will be very accessible in a couple weeks.
Well if you had found another 450 finds you could have called it your Daytona 500 adventure! lol...enjoyed the video, watching you make a fans day with your photo (do you charge for autographs?) lol......I've found a few Buffalo nickels myself and interestingly they always come out of the ground pinkish, not sure why......always fun to see your cool dad with you and looking forward to your next adventure! Thanks!
somewhere on the internets, some sour detectorists are screaming ... but the buffalo nickel wasnt red! it cant be legit! hahaha. I found one in fresh woodchips in a school playground, obviously a recent drop of some kid's lucky coin, and the haters melted down about it being planted.
Yesterday a St.petersberg police officer found a Rolex and a bunch of jewelry in stuff out out front of a home hit by the hurricain. When asked if he was going to find the home owner he said no they are probably snow birds and don't even know we were hit by a hurricain im crashing it in . Way i see it he stoled that stuff but cops see it as ok to take what they want.
What if one of the world largest video game creators wants to collaborate with you to make a video game based on your Florida detecting adventures? What if you created your own video game, would you be more in control of it all compared to a collaboration? What if someone else made a video game based on your hard work and they made all the money from it, not you? At some point, with or without you, a highly successful video game will be made based on your work. Don't wait for this to happen, because it may already be happening. Either way, this is your limited opportunity to expand your work and for generations to come. Where will you be decades from now, long after this successful franchise began?
The beaches here have been very rough, and red tide has made its way back. I'll be detecting the East coast primarily until conditions improve over here
11:07 great drawing in the sand 😂😂😂
Nice to see you hanging out with Dad! 👍
Always look forward to your next video. Thank you!
Love that you and dad are enjoying the digs, together 🤞🤞🤗
It’s so interesting that these coins are hidden for so long and then surface again. Great finds. Thanks for sharing!
Always nice to see your dad hunt with you!

My favorite videos of yours is when you are with your dad.

Awesome!!! Crushing it! 😎
No 'freaking pull tabs?' lol Your excitement is tangible when you found the silver coins! Glad you and your dad had fun!!
Cool Finds!
Thanks for Taking Us Along!
Good Luck on Your Next Hunt, Guys! ✌
Lovely video ❤ It was nice of you to say hello to your fan and take a picture. ❤
That big hunk of iron was the car that wheel weight came from. I'm still laughing! Nice work on all the old coins.
Nice old beach coins. Thanks for sharing!!!
I could watch one of your videos every day. Love your channel! Also, I really like that you hang out with your dad. What a great activity to share.
Thank you!!! It's fun bringing him along on adventures!

Lots of people hunt Daytona on a daily basis, Glad you found something. It gets cleaned out daily. Good luck with your next one.
No doubt! I haven't been there in a few years. I know its usually slim pickings unless a LOT of sand gets moved out. I had heard that conditions were pretty good a few days before, so I figured it would be worth the drive!
Congrats on your Buffalo nickel. Been hitting the beaches around Venice with my new Manticore. Loving it so far. Only coins and that’s all good 👍
Watch out for the Embry-Riddle pilots flying low on the beach. 😁 Miss driving on that beach. Good times.
Love watching your videos, you do so much good for the beaches of Florida cleaning them up. Love it when you find all the coins and the freakin pull tabs.
Yea, a new video, love your channel! The beaches on the East coast are not as pretty as ours on the West coast, except for the hurricanes!
Thank you!!
Well guess that spot is blown after future storms. I loved that spot. The enormous spot has been there a while.
11:08 lol nice giggle!
Cool coins! Fun little adventure! Thanks for taking us along!
😊❤️👍
He’s got the Best detecting videos
Great hunt with your dad! I usually throw my rusty or crusty stuff in a container with apple cider vinegar and forget about it for a few days ( or longer)The rust falls off and calcium deposits dissolve. Also Congrats on your first beach buffalo 🦬 😃
Thank you!! Great tip!
Hello Floridadetect, I am so glad to see your dad there too. I miss the East Coast beaches. Take care and I will see you soon. God bless.
I've found silver rings crusted like that on the beach. They are a pita to clean up.
aka Margo Another great Video Shawn!!! Nice to see your Dad... Love the old coins!

You both got some great coins today 😊
Hi View from Singapore nice content stay safe out there bro with your dad
Hey Shawn's dad!
"...I really want to get into that hole..." 🤣
You should take all the metals home and start recycling buckets and sort it. Iron isn't worth it but the lead weights, copper, stainless, brass...all worthwhile.
Dig up that refrigerator door.
Blessings from the UK hi to you both
Good morning mr Shawn Good luck and God bless 🙌 🙏
Thank you!
The clamp you found is to hold two meddle round panels together. Like for a square pen for animals.
Great finds.
Sorry I missed you out there.
Great stuff as usual, and good to see you with your Dad, very cool !!
How fun meeting a fan detectorist! You are famous! And a few interesting coins! Great day.
Just found your channel a couple days ago and have been bingeing since! 💍 💎🤩😍
Not a bad find!!🇨🇦
hi im from Norway. its so nice too see on you. 🤩
A Fellow Hoosier!
In the 1970s they dropped a lot of tire off the east coast of Florida to make artificial reefs, Bad Idea. That is probably where that tire weight came from. Great video.
Tire weights attach to the rim not the tire.
People drive on Daytona Beach .
Were you at an area that was once part of the race track? You found the wheel weight and other assorted big metal pieces that could be car parts.
Would Love to see a video of all that you have found previously in your case(s) at your home. That would be so neat to see. :)
We call the wheat pennies "wheatbacks" up here in the Northeast.
Its difficult to hunt saltwater beaches with cheaper, single frequency metal detectors. You'll get a lot of false hits
Love the videos. I’m am in Jupiter this week, let me know if you’re going to be around, I would like to meet you.
11:05 sure is an interesting pattern in the sand 😳
8=D 😂
I like how you throw that stuff down and find it LOL just kidding we all enjoy watching your videos have a detector never used it
Great hunt, I'll be at siesta the weekend of 11/17, would be so cool to bump into you like that guy. Glad you're still getting out, I wonder if the gulf coast will be very accessible in a couple weeks.
Thanks for another GREAT video
Enjoy your videos.
Thank you!
awesome finds as always
Greetings from Tuscany 😊.
👍👍👍
I Shawn good coins. That button would be off old naval uniform. God bless

Alex Rodriguez probably hucked that bottle into the ocean when JLo left him from their home in Miami!
Hi there dad and son team new sub from Wales UK 🙏👍
Love your videos ❤❤❤
Epic content as always!
Thank you!
I'm here!
lol!!! Thanks for making it back ;)
@DetectFlorida it's my Sunday breakfast!
That big piece of metal that you got looks like it's part of a sword
You need a big hat that lets you put your phone and keys on top of your head.
Hi , be careful out there!
somewhere on the internets, some sour detectorists are screaming ... but the buffalo nickel wasnt red! it cant be legit! hahaha. I found one in fresh woodchips in a school playground, obviously a recent drop of some kid's lucky coin, and the haters melted down about it being planted.
❤
Brian from Indiana - was that @BHiggles?
super
Too bad that first coin wasn't the elusive 1943 one!
Less chatting more digging 😂
👍👍👍👋👋👋
Hope you had a happy Halloween
Did you find any bullets marked 925😮
Thank you! That would be cool! I know they exist
@ 18:18 you found a clamp for 2 parallel pipes
Hi Shawn, that big target that you did not dig up, do you think it could have been a buried crab trap by chance? Just curious. Thnx! :)
No, it was likely a metal pole. It rang up too high to be crab trap
@@DetectFlorida Ok cool, thnx for answering. :)
second find (hard to see in video) looks like a primer pocket out of a bullet ???
What is your favorite machine. I want step up from the AT PRO.
Its a toss up between the XP Deus 2 and the Minelab Manticore. I prefer the Deus on land and wet sand, and I prefer the Manticore in the water
You're finding a bunch of junk from hurricane Nichole tearing up the buildings and sea walls.
11:06 ween alert 😂
I saw that on my third watch through lol. Good eye!!! 😂
Beat me to it!
What if that big target you didn’t dig was the Crown Jewels lost with the 1715 fleet?
It was probably the car that belonged to the wheel weight! haha
What metal detector are using?
I was using a Minelab Manticore in this video
@ Thanks. I have a Fisher F44 that will not work in wet sand. Might be time for something better.

No more hurricane milton videos? 😢

Where’s the button I was hoping to see better pic of it
Just want to tell you about. Today 10 November I try to like your videos and not allowed me to???
Nothing ventured nothing gained ....🤔 Gitterdug
Ew what the heck is a sand flea 🤢 that might be your grossest find yet 😂
Thanks for another GREAT video
