Interesting boat wrecks , I often wonder about the stories that led them to that part of our Qld coast line and if the people that used them are safe , that was a lot of blue rope and no shortage of Pumice Stone. The aerial shot of all the sand hills was interesting . I know that if I was up that part Queensland you wouldn't see me for weeks at a time , I would be full on fossick mode plus I'd be packing out the rubbish. I sent a message to GreenPeace to have a look at some of your videos because of all the plastic whether or not they invest some time into it or not is another story considering how much people take notice of other countries rubbish but fail to see what's in our own front yard . I remember beachcombing on South Stradbroke when I was in my mid to late teens and there was very little plastic and that was 54 years ago I'm 70 now and far away from the ocean and rivers and mangroves I love, so I am always checking the beaches and mangroves you comb for Amber and glass floats etc So thanks for taking me/us along it always a pleasure and relaxing seeing the beaches and what gets washed up on our shorelines. Cheers Mate👍👍👍😎💨🏴☠☮☮☕☕
Pile up the plastics and netting with driftwood and burn it - above the tide line. Probably laws against it but the most efficient way. With the wood and a breeze the fire is hot enough to do a good combustion of the plastic. On the other hand, that is the cleanest "garbage" I have ever seen. And you could fill a barge with all the strings of floats and balls. A couple hundred Boy Scouts and other volunteers could do quite a bit in a few days. At least to one island. On the other hand, is it really doing any damage as is?
Saturday 30th September 2023, Oh yeah the odd bottle with the copper base and the trigger, is a soda font used for adding soda/carbonated water to cordials or cocktails, It's just as much fun watching your videos a second time to check if I missed some goodies on the beaches Cheers Mate 👍👍👍😎💨🏴☠☕☕☮☮🌈☺☺
Many people wouldn't know what a soda font is. It is also known as a seltzer bottle, often used in old "slapstick" comedies like the old Marx Bros routines where Harpo would squirt another actor with it. Seltzer bottles are rarely used anymore, but are still available. Good video.
Thanks for sharing! Interesting to see where the was no plastic in the tide lines. Wish I could find a nautilus shell one day! Your boy is soo well behaved, great dog 🐾
Interesting videos .... What we used to do in the 1960's/70's growing up on the Gulf of Mexico Ala/MS Gulf Coast Barrier Islands ...I'm amazed by the amount of trash on these beaches as we maybe had 20% of what I'm seeing on your videos ....
I love going beachcombing with you, I guess these islands are off the north west coast of Australia and get the flotsam and jetsam from Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, the western Pacific and the eastern Indian Ocean?
That was a beautiful tour of the beach and all the things on it amazing. Wondering what kind of food your dog Gris likes to eat. Thanks Obsessed Beachcomber. From New York
Love your video's man, & your dog Gris. By the way, I believe that metal cylinder you found, is an old school soda bottle that pubs had on the bar, so people can help themselves to soda water. The giveaway is the screw thread where the co2 bulb went, which had a cover over the bulb & when it was screwed tight it pierced the bulb & charged the cylinder with gas. The top was to fill it. As I'm a new subscriber, I got a few of your vlogs to check out. Stay safe dude. Regards.......Urban Geeze.
You leave a lot of nice buoys and nautilus shells on the beach. Why? If you don't clutter, have a yard sale. So many nice items left behind. You probably colud have figured out a way to float that boat that was out there. It was pretty close to the water.
I have found my share of treasures beachcomming. Twice I have found Cuban Refuge Rafts and several paddles made with sticks and cut out shape of plywood. Very Sad. Rick of life to be free. I could open a nautical store with everything i see in your videos. Daytona Beach, Florida USA
I noticed that you have two boats towing behind, is one for landing and the other for channel work , interesting hobby you have and also great for the body and mind, not to mention the exercise for you furry mate 😊.
The only coastline I am familiar with is the west coast of North America, California Oregon and Washington. One of the aspects of it that drove me away from it in the 80’s was all the damned people crowding all of it. I was conceived on a beach, I love the beach, but I really hate the people that ruin the tranquility of it, and all the corresponding rules that go with it. YOU my friend, have a wonderful quiet coastline all to yourself it appears. I am truly envious of your adventures. Peace.✌🏻
As strange as it sounds i had to buy a boat just to go home. Wet season was a bit early got cut off in town roughly 700km away. Four to five months there is no road access here once the wet season starts.
@@obsessedbeachcomber Wow that is an interesting trip home. I’m loving your adventures. I had no idea that our beautiful coast line has so much rubbish on it. I thought it was Bali at first. Does anyone clean up the rubbish, like local council or such?
The bigger boat is too live on when on trips, small one is to go ashore, third one is my way home if the wet season comes early, no road access for around 4 to 5 months. Yes amber is used for jewellery, but I'm more interested in the scientific side meaning inclusion what's in side.
What is in those Blue 20L Jugs? DEF? What is the big Crane for at 4:00-5:00 up on the hill? Neat intact white boat and so much rope! Has the sun deteriorated the ropes? It would be nice to see the far side of the embankment where possible. Thanks for not having music. It is still very difficult to understand you.
What part of Australia are these islands at? Surprised at so much garbage washed up. I'm in the Philippines and can't wait to get out on the beaches again.
I would think all those solar powered beacons you run across would have a use. I would not be able to resist. Before long I would need a warehouse 🙂 How far north are you?
I like the lures. I walk around our beaches when the water is down in the winter and look for them. Do you ever find any boats washed up that are in good shape?

You have no idea how badly I want just one nautilus shell, it doesn't have to be big even a small one would be great, but there is no way I'll ever be able to find one since I live majorly inland Canada. DO you sell your shells? I would like to buy one if the price isn't too tall.
I love the vids usually this on kinda struck me sad... Trying to identify some of the crap that made beachfall and was like damn that is a lot of garbage washed ashore.

Great video, that is even better with nothing but beach sounds.

Omgosh the float is awesome. Looks to be quite old.
Yes would be quite old seen they haven't made any from just after the war

Love your videos. Beautiful beaches, apart from the garbage. Do you ever come across people or foot prints on the beach?
Not on 90 percent of them, no roads means no people

A recent video from him he passed up an aluminum hull that looked intact
Now I know why 🧐😊
copper thing seltzer bottle?
At 2:59 that kinda looked like a skull setting to the right from that fishing lure.
Wow top outcome of your trip, could you retrieve the contents of the gopro?
Unfortunately not
Ohhh i wow saw a 18 min video soooo happy thankyou
Great channel sir, really envious! Have you ever found any munitions during your walk'abouts?
That’s a warram catamaran canoe hull I think it’s a tiki 26 hard to tell

Great video as allways.
that's the trouble with pacific ocean Asia uses it as a dump

That green funny shaped thing you showed looks like a soda syphon to me
I am always amazed and dismayed at the volume of plastic waste on the beaches, paradise ruined, the copper bottle is a vintage Sparklets Soda Syphon
Oh those ropes , could make some big baskets with them!
Yes you could make some beautiful baskets.

Water bottles, and a dead coconut tree 🌴

What do you do with all the th8ngs you collect and why did you not keep that brown oriental ceramic bottle you found?

Northern Australia
What are those glass boubles? Like how they are creating?
Can I ask why three boats I understand a smaller one to get in shore what’s what’s the third one for - cause you can lol

Not worried about sharks with the dogs in the water ?
No crocs and stingrays are the worry in the water. Crocs, pigs, cows are the worry on land
When you say Amber, are you talking about ambrosia? Whale dunn
No if i say amber i mean fossil tree resin otherwise I would say ambergris , the two do confuse most people.
How's your homeland today I love the beaches white sand beautiful now let's hit the veach
The time before plastic... thank you
Do you live on the boat?? Certainly not a lot of people there ! My I ask where was this location
No very few people. Only live on the boat on beachcombing trips from a week to a month
The mystery bottle is a soda syphon or soda water dispenser for an example a whisky and soda.
Looks like northern AUS..? No crock issues? The sky is so tropical, the water too. Mangroves, all the ornimental garbage ...
Plenty of crocs always on the lookout for them
Have you ever found the stinger from a ray?
Actually no I haven't
there's a fortune in driftwood ...
What causes the water to be BROWN?
Mainly fresh water run of into the sea
