    I’m glad you actually told me which video it was vs just telling me what the mount is I got to see how you put so much thought to making sure the transducer mount was in the right place putting everything you normally use in the kayak so see if it was in the way thank you so much I definitely found everything useful I like the ideal of the waterproof container great video

    Instead of using self taping screws or bolts, you could use rivets with the silicone sealant also. That's what I used for adding my rod holder on the front of my Pelican Mustang

    • @AnglingSpiders
      @AnglingSpiders  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed, but I didn't have a riveting tool. It is a good tip for those who have one.

    I just added some Scotty gear tracks to my Sentinel 100XR Angler!
    Sadly the pelican attachments aren’t compatible with Scotty so I had to install a Scotty flush mount just below my existing rod holder. No I can have my rod on the side while I have my Bait Board and camera set up in the middle!
    I can’t wait to hit the water!
    Love your channel and love the videos.
    One suggestion, could you reference the types and sizes of your bolts and screws. It’s tough to know exactly what to buy when the hardware isn’t included.

    • @AnglingSpiders
      @AnglingSpiders  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment Brad, appreciate it. We can absolutely include bolt and screw sizes, but keep in mind that the size (at least the length) will depend on where you install on the kayak. We try to get them as short as possible depending on the area so that we don't hit them from underneath. Definitely appreciate the feedback, keeps us improving our content.

    • @bradthistle5814
      @bradthistle5814 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Angling Spiders I hear ya on the length... I stood in rona this morning for 25 mins debating between 3/4 or 1/2 inch bolts! Haha
      The irony of it was that I had 2 Scotty components and they had different diameter bolt holes. Tracks were #10 and the flush mount needed #14.
      I was lucky I took my parts with me to the store to dry fit them...

    You could always cut an access hole on the front wall of the rear storage and put a hatch on it to use bolts or even put a portable battery box their so it can’t fall out of the kayak

    • @AnglingSpiders
      @AnglingSpiders  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, but knowing us we would make a mistake and ruin the kayak, lol.

    Happy father's Day. First, thanks for all the videos. I've been following and modifying my Pelican Mustang right along with you. What made you choose the Garmin Striker 4 over a Lowrance Hook2 4? Just curious.

    • @edcpreacher
      @edcpreacher 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, are you worried that when you paddle you would hit the transducer arm?

    • @AnglingSpiders
      @AnglingSpiders  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment. I think it just comes down to preference. The Lowrance has a much wider profile and I am also a fan of Garmin. I was also looking for something relatively cheap and from what I can tell the Garmin is less expensive . You can pick up the Striker 4 for about $150.

    • @AnglingSpiders
      @AnglingSpiders  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@edcpreacher No, I tested it today and there was no interference at all with the paddle when in the down position. You need to be a little more careful when you have the arm raised, but I only had it up when close to shore.

  • @lookinfishy5987
    @lookinfishy5987 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What size screws are needed for both of those mounts? I have the exact same stuff but no clue what hardware to use and lost the hardware that came with the striker 4

    • @AnglingSpiders
      @AnglingSpiders  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on where you mount them. We had to put it on and make sure there would be room for the screws and nuts. It was a bit of a guess using a tape measure from underneath

  • @reddragon2004031
    @reddragon2004031 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the transducer need to be into the water?

    • @AnglingSpiders
      @AnglingSpiders  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It needs to be in water to work, but some people create a well of water within their kayak and it will still work through the hull of the boat. I prefer it to be outside of the kayak as it is less hassle than managing it inside.

    • @reddragon2004031
      @reddragon2004031 3 ปีที่แล้ว
