I'm a Texan who works for a British company (and travels there for work a few times a year) and the reaction from the Monster Munch is by far the most entertaining cultural exchange I've seen all year. A few years ago there was a big court case here in UK to determine if jaffa cakes were a cake or a biscuit. It had something to do with different level of taxes to be paid. It was legally determined that because a jaffa cake went hard when it's stale then it's a cake, whereas a biscuit would go soft when stale 😄

No country has as much sugars & salt & additives in their food as the USA, so most of the English stuff tasted bland and a bit “healthy.” But the chocolate was FANTASTIC! Because in Europe, to be classified as a chocolate product, it has to be at least 20% cocoa, whereas in the US it's only 10%, the difference tends to be made up with fillers and additives.

After being stationed in the UK for 4 years, I can say I’ve had most of these snacks…however, most of them are meant to be consumed with a cup of tea. I always enjoyed some jaffas with my tea.

We have a British food section in the Publix here and I'm always after the "Digestives" or digestive biscuits, those are what my online gaming buddies in the UK are always munching on after dinner.. They also have better regulations on what crap can be added to food as far as bad chemicals and preservatives.

I'm not sure if there's really a chip/crisp flavor/flavour from the US that doesn't have an analogue in the UK 🤔 (obv a lot aren't exactly the same) but corn chips are really underrepresented. A slight bit of background, at 12.40 that is Tower Bridge. The original London Bridge from the song was a mediaeval bridge with structures atop which were crumbling, it was replaced by a Victorian Bridge (well technically Georgian, Victoria did not take the throne for 6 more years) which was purchased by an American and moved block by block and after modifications, the facade reassembled upon a concrete frame in Arizona. The current “London Bridge” is a 1970s concrete arch bridge which can support modern traffic which the 1830s bridge could not. The opulent Tower Bridge remains, the main difference being it is now hydraulically opened instead of steam powered.
