    One of our dreams is to do a tiny house for our special needs daughter on our property. This looks like a good option for that. We just need to keep saving.

      That is a great idea! I was thinking we would need to convert our basement into a “in-law” apt for our son but the little house or shed would be a great option also.

      This is the plan for our special needs son as well, and then my other 2 kiddos decided that they needed one too 😆

    The only thing I did in mine different and don't understand why more people don't is put the outlets higher than standard. Eliminates a lot of cable hang and those short cables can be used. Plus Drywall seams should be staggered (done this for 30 years) makes the wall stronger. Great job!

    We had Tuff Shed build in our back yard and built a studio 28 years ago. It is still being used for recording everyday.

    I’m in the Pacific Northwest and am in the process of converting my 200sq ft Tuff Shed into an office space. The ceiling has the radiant vapor barrier like yours. Drywall and insulation contractors won’t touch the ceiling because of that vapor barrier and ventilation. Two have told me that baffles are required (which is an easy fix) but with 2x4s and the studs being 24” on center, that won’t leave much room for fiberglass insulation. The other problem I’ve learned after loads of research and talking to insulators is that insulating over the vapor barrier will 1. negate the function and efficiency of the barrier, and 2. create the perfect trap for excessive heat and moisture which eventually leads to all the problems. So, I’m curious about your ceiling insulation, are there baffles? Either way, how are you keeping the airflow between the vapor barrier and the insulation circulating? Have you noticed any issues yet now that you’re over a year in? (PS: I can’t get Tuff Shed to give me any answers about the ceiling and insulation, so any advice you have is great!!)

    • @arobins74
      @arobins74 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am also in the Pacific Northwest with a TuffShed. Ours is the same size as the one in the video.
      I opted for the ridge vent. To make sure I still had airflow I used foam insulation taped to the faces of the rafters, leaving an inch space between the insulation and the inside of the roof sheathing for airflow. The air intake is via the eaves. I can draw you a diagram if you like, or share some photos.
      We've had ours insulated and sheathed in gypsum board now for almost two years through two winters and it's been great.

      Walls & roof definitely need to be able to breathe. This shed is going to eventually grow mold in the walls and have moisture issues from heating & cooling.
