However if it hadn’t started there or an outbreak hadn’t started there and if they had enough time all they would have had to do is blow the bridges and tunnels and watch the waters for walkers and start becoming self sufficient with probably solar power and urban farming. They can easily isolate the island of Manhattan. But when it comes to the Wildfire virus it’s pretty much death of any kind is not going to be good for anyone.
New York is definitely a place to avoid in the zombie apocalypse. New York has been estimated to immediately be ravaged, due to it's natural huge population.

The science nerd in me hates this so much because though inventive the gas would be lost at insane rates and pretty much worthless, sure fuel density use has gone way up but it takes some pretty special tools. Hydro power is simple in theory but its pretty worthless if you dont have a turbine and some way to control water flow, sure this guy is using walker decay to effectively make candles

I would go live at a damn community, that's basically unlimited water and power, plus it needs people to maintain it. With that you can have food production all year round as you could have more than enough energy for hydroponic warehouses full of vegetables. They would be at an advantages position in defense as well, high ground on each side, with a nearly impenetrable fortress between them. They could grow more than enough food to use most of it as a catalyst for ethanol production as well. I would imagine that even though they aren't necessarily engineers that they would learn how to maintain their generators over time, plus they probably wouldn't need more than one at a time to meet their power needs. Each one is enough to power hundreds of homes and businesses if not a few thousand and most usually have a dozen or more. I'm quite sure in the decades it would take to use them all they would have figured out how to fix the others by then.

It really feels like a bunch of people that lived in California and elsewhere idea of what quote" New York City is rather than what probably could have been. Maybe they hinted of it, but one of the big mistakes is everyone always as soon as that New York City is just Manhattan. In fact, it's multiple Islands strung together. I would have loved to seen different, essentially fiffoms films on the different islands. Especially since you have fairies and half the train system is above ground once you get out of most of Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn. In addition, again, even Manhattan was so underutilized. I wish it was as creative as Daryl Dixon with France. Like what if there's a survivor colony in Central Park who re-fortifies Belvedere's Castle which is an actual castle from the 17th century in the middle of the park? There's just so much stuff they could have done where New Yorkers would have been like holy shit. This is crazy to see but instead it was like yep subways and the Statue of Liberty and oh giant buildings and that's about it. They didn't leverage it like they leveraged like the forest environments of Atlanta or the various histories and cultures of France. I hope season 2 they do better
I just moved to the city last year(Brooklyn) and even being here so short a time I thought the same. NYC in the show is just an improv of Manhattan in the show and a pretty poor improv at that.

I keep wondering why none of the cities were not already nuked. The Philadelphia can’t have been the only nuclear sub in US waters. One of the crews would have followed their last orders.
Logically I agree. In universe, I assume that the Philadelphia was the only sub that actually had a chance to launch, every other sub being overrun before the orders arrived. As for the silos, I'm not sure but maybe their nukes were too big and/or couldn't target American cities, so they weren't ordered to launch.

Honestly, after Darabont left the series I never felt the same about it. The moment I definitely lost interest was the beginning of Maggie's "Vengeful widow" story arch. Just kill him or get over it already.
This spin off is kinda mid. I do enjoy Negan being "Him" again even for a short while. I'll give them credit of it piecing things together (Which I don't, I just realized this now) on why they need Negan. If you still don't know, the answer is Gas. With them having a hold of it and will inevitably face a full offensive of other communities. Like what Rick did, they will counter it and make a "Show" out of it to keep them in line. Guess who's the main actor of that show.
Been Binge watching a lot of your stuff! Your videos were recommended to me out of the blue when I was looking for trailers to zombie movies. Love your narration of the stories. However, I am sure you probably already saw me pointing out a few errors in some of your videos, not really you, but flaws in the show :P I am just anal like that so just ignore my comments pointing things out haha. On a side note I am a zombie nut and have been ever since I snuck out of my room when I was about 12 and watched the Original Night of the Living Dead. I loved that movie, but that whole night I had to close all the curtains and turn on most of the lights in the house because I was so freaked out. I am 50 now and ever since then I have been a self proclaimed zombie aficionado lol. In fact I have a reoccurring dream several times a year of trying to survive with a group of people in a zombie apocalypses. I enjoy all zombie type films and shows, but I always prefer and harken back to the original type of slow waking horde type zombies. Keep up the good work!

This has been an entertaining trip down memory lane for sure. To re-live some of my favorite story arcs in the way you've put them together has been an entertaining viewing experience! I know its hard work but please man, keep making these for all significant story arcs in TWD universe. Id love to see you weave some arcs together between shows and tell the larger overarching story between them while filling in time jumps. In addition to my previous comment, one of the things that made me die laughing is the survivor saying that there were almost no bullets and guns so they had to improvise their weapons. This totally feels like an outsider seeing oh New York and New York City is a blue liberal state. So since they have so many anti-gun laws, guns would be scarce of there. Everyone forgets that not only are the NYPD psychotic and would probably be one of the gangs running of the city kind of like the Atlantic PD, but on a larger operation at least for a while, but that thanks to 9/11. Basically New York City is its own mini military base with all the major multilater agencies there because you have the United Nations and other points of interest. Literally if there was a zombie apocalypse, Not only would the police and national Guard be huge and defending the island but the survivors would definitely either be under the protection of the corrupt police or would be raiding the police. Then they would be more guns, ammo, and weapons that they would not know to deal with. Fact, in addition to the methane zombies which I really like that could have been legitimately another reason for other colonies back on the mainland to raid New York City because it would be hilariously over the top filled with guns and ammo that are going unused.

The Walking Dead plagiarized the idea of 28 Days Later of a man waking from a coma to find a zombie apocalypse; now they've also plagiarized the idea of the rat king colony from The Last of Us (a monster composed of several zombies fised together).
Imagine if New Yorkers were allowed to own guns i mean the normal people not just police and the wealthy, sure would have been been easier to deal with threats and survival. That applies to real life as they're being assaulted by illegal invaders soon they'll wish they fought to keep their rights.

I agree with you but their are quite a few illegal guns in the city. So think of it 20 zombies coming and you have 10 shots, you also have a sick wife and a scared child. @@jjkilhij9531 well its not just about zombies but it can be tied to the show and IRL, it's just an observation on not allowing yourself to be disarmed by a government that hates you. They blew the bridges up and left everybody there to fend for themselves the night before taking away their ability to defend themselves. I'm just facing current New York BS laws and relating it into the world of The walking Dead cuz that's what you would have to base it off of is what we know and we know how shity New York is.
I agree with you but their are quite a few illegal guns in the city. So think of it 20 zombies coming and you have 10 shots, you also have a sick wife and a scared child. They have gotten in your building and the hall is your last line now odds are you will hit center mass its how we train but it wont help with zombies. You may down 1 by mistake with the full clip before your over ran

@@timgersh6787 maybe that's that's the case for someone who never shoots, I don't think it would be a problem being in a hall is the last place you want to be in a gun fight but in this case it helps especially if they're all close to the same height.
